    Welcome to Haddonfield New Jersey!
If you've seen the Halloween series, you'll know the town in the movie is "Haddonfield, Illinois". This actually isn't a real town! One of Halloween's writers is from Haddonfield NJ and this is the town the movie is based on. A good claim to fame, eh?!
In this video South Jersey real estate agent Pip visits Haddonfield, known for its fabulous downtown of amazing stores and restaurants, its historical architecture, and it's highly-ranked school district. It is also known as the Legal Center of Southern New Jersey: the town is home to 390 attorney offices!
If you would like to know more about the town, or perhaps you are looking to buy or sell in Haddonfield, then 📲 call or text Pip at 609-500-9733 📲
This historical borough in Camden County, in the Philadelphia suburbs, was incorporated in 1875. The land in what is present day Haddonfield was originally inhabited by Lenni Lenape Native Americans.
How did Haddonfield get its name?
In the late 1600s/early 1700s a Quaker, living in England, purchased a 500 acre lot in what we now know as Haddonfield. His daughter set sail alone from England to develop the land. And the town was named after their last name.
The Indian King Tavern stands today along Kings Highway in Haddonfield as a reminder of the town's significant role in the Revolutionary War. It was in this tavern that the New Jersey Legislature met to declare the independent state of New Jersey. It is now a museum anyone can visit.
Haddonfield's retail district is also anchored by Kings Highway, which is home to many different types of businesses, including our fave restaurants!
Kings Hwy intersects Haddon Ave, which is one straight line through Haddonfield, Collingswood, Haddon Township and more, connecting all of these great South Jersey towns together. Running between these three towns is the PATCO, that'll take you right into Center City Philly.
Fun fact: Haddonfield is a dry town. But many restaurants are BYOB, or you can grab some takeout and eat it at Kings Road Brewing Company! William Heritage Winery sits next door where you can enjoy some New Jersey wine.
Haddonfield's population is around 12,500 people and has a total area of 2.84 square miles. Haddonfield borders many other towns including: Audubon, Barrington, Haddon Township, and Haddon Heights, so if you want to live near downtown Haddonfield but are balking at those eye-watering home prices or taxes, take a look in the surrounding area.
