Another great video!, not much you do about the caterpillars, other than hand pick them and put them on the path for the birds, unless you want to go down the root of naturally derived pesticides like Pyrethrins, in the UK i had major issues with brassica caterpillars last year, so covering them over this year later in the springtime will solve that issue hopefully. Amazed your growing so many varieties, similar to me also (though i favour melons/tomatoes and chillies).
@Foozle28 it took forever and a day to handpick them all off. The following day, butterflies were back laying more eggs! It's a crazy ecosystem 😂 I don't want to use any sort of chemicals, but to keep it all natural. We started to spray vinegar on the leaves of the broccoli just to deter them away, but within days they were still back. I wanted to dabble with a bit of everything. This year, I will introduce raspberries and perhaps cucumbers, but I'll put a pin in thise ideas until this lot has been cleared haha
@TheLaughableHarvest The only option is to use netting to keep them off if you don't fancy using natural pesticides, that's what i will be doing this year, i had success with cucumbers in my polytunnel last year, they need good heat to germinate and grow, though i grew mine using the Kratky method and just topping the nutrients up regularly in the 10 lite bucket.
