As a long term EM user I can say that this review is very fair and accurate.

Very informative. I bought this camera second hand way back in 1998, and the person in the store told me this was a light meter...but it's not really...it's a shutter speed range! For years I tried to keep it in the middle leading to...well you know. The fact that the middle range was for the flash! Man, that makes way more sense. This camera was sitting in a box for 17 years since and I immediately looked in the viewfinder and said, "Those are shutter speeds." Having used other cameras since, and especially DSLRs where aperture priority is a function (albeit one I don't use) I feel a bit silly having used this camera for years without understanding exactly how it worked. The internet was not what is today...the information wasn't there. Having gifted this to my wife, who has just found a new interest in film photography, your video has really helped. Thanks man! You got some stereo channel issues in the sound, but you've probably figured that out by now.

Ha, did you sneak into my office and borrow my EM to make this video? Mines missing the rewind crank too. Also, the bracket in the light meter matchstick needle lets you know if you are over or under exposed. Keeping the needle in the middle of the bracket while choosing exposure is the sweet spot with whatever film speed you have in. The EM is a sleeper and it’s lenses have a cult following. Oh, and the exposure comp button works by pointing the lens at the dark area of a back lit composition, then keeping the button depressed while you recompose and take the pic. It works well. Last thing, I believe you can get a double exposure if you take a picture then push in the rewind button on the bottom plate, then cock the shutter. The film doesn’t advance, but the shutter cocks and the film crank re-engages. You may want to try that with no film in the camera first. Thanks for the vid, enjoyed it.

The light meter (shutter speed meter) doesn't work until the camera is in frame 1. I think this was to save battery, hence the battery button.

I bought this thing for 25 euro. The only thing that bothers me is that the strap which was a 70s watch metal strap for cameras is literally held up by a rusty paperclip. Every time I move it in my collection the pointy ends of it get lodged in my skin. pretty annoying. Other than that I am happy with it and the lenses it came with. I am holding off on using it till I buy myself a outwinder though. First I got to fix the damn strap.

Um, can you make a video on how to insert film in that and take a nice picture?

The one thing it is missing I care about is no shutter speed dial. 7:45 I think all Nikons do that I know my F2 and F3hp do.

I have owned two years ago. Great camera with modern controls and exposure modes with supper accurate metering. It is great with AF lenses of course but also has focus confirmation light when using manual focus.
