I actually thought the BatPod was pure cgi!dang Nolan hires great prop guys and actors/actresses!
Its just on a different level where no one can touch it.

Yeah Christopher Nolan only uses CGI when it is actually impossible to do it the practical way, like when the bike wheel rotates sideways. That's why it looks so good

But the batpod is too hard to control and dangerous even Christian bale and the stunt actor himself is too afraid to get on that and had to pass all the stunts to the stunt actor

There were some special effects, but they were simple. The tires never flipped over and rolled on those hard 90 degree turns. Neat effect but physically impractical. You know what im talking about- like when he rode the bike up the wall and the tires rotate 180 degrees and he lands back down facing the other direction...he uses special effects but they are for small details. I love it

yeah admit some of his effects is practical.. but he did use CGI either.
Dan Lee he uses it when it’s appropriate. Interstellar is set many years in the future, and is sci-fi. Ofc it uses CGI. The Bat tumblr and batpod could’ve been cgi, but they went the extra mile to make them real.

Oh boy I cried to this in about about 30 - 50 years we are going to look back at this film and say wow I live it watching this film as a kid or young adult and think to ourselves wow this was such a master piece

when it ejected it was CGI... even in slow motion I don't see how the batpod works...ejecting and turning (wheels flip)
Matt Mayse of course was they couldn’t actually do that... it’s just that Nolan barley uses cgi.. but 2 face had to because if the did make up it would look lumpy
They use cgi for something that we cant achieve yet as human,.and for little detail,.

Despite loving and appreciating Marvel, the storytelling depth and practicality of Chris Nolan's Batman trilogy is mind blowing and supercedes the entire Marvel catalogue. It crosses over from "fantasy" and "super hero" genre into "thriller", "suspence", and "action" genre.
Christopher Nolan is top notch, one of the greatest movie directors of all time.
He's a really great director who makes top-notch films, but to say he's one of the GOATs is a big stretch.

Tell me another director who wouldn't have used VFX. He is the best director. The dude freaking destroyed a real plane 300 million usd. Other directors use VFX

Coming back the comment itself - if that's how you measure greatness, yes he is. And let me tell you, those are just one of the many parameters which you would take into account when you go through a director's films. Films are more than just a collection of complicated scenes shot with difficult techniques. I hope you get to widen your horizons by watching films that don't necessarily adhere to the conventional constraints of what a film is, and how a film must be shot.
Also, DoJ and JL were directed by Snyder :)

I love that Nolan really only used CGI when it was necessary. Everything being practical, from the stunts, chases, and cape adds to Batman’s character from both a film making and in-film perspectives. Having a stunt man with real cape just standing high on a tower is more engrossing than a CGI model standing there with animated cape.
That theme by Zimmer gets me pumped.
It's so awesome cus it's all real. when I see Bale's Batman I feel like it's actually him even without the movie magic.
