I had a chepish USB-C multihub on my c940 that was bulletproof for well over a year, then the comms went 'phooooff' in an electrical storm, stripped it and found one of the surface mounted caps has gone to eHeaven. First replacement was a similar no name brand, with HDMI and Ethernet etc, this has been nothing but headaches, while the HDMI remained up the ethernet would continually drop with an error 43 every 3-5 minutes. Following your suggestion to turn off ALL power control on all drivers for all the USB related devices eventually fixed it. It has now been stable for many hours - kudos to you sir!
I tried everything on my own to troubleshoot the USB port issue I was having. I recently added a multi-port adapter so I could use 4 USB devices on a single port on my PC. Windows was already up to date so I changed the USB power settings, disabled USB selective suspend, as well as enable fast start up since my computer had it toggled off. I reset my computer and put my USB back into the side port and it worked! I tried the USB ports on the back as well, one recognized it but another still didn't, which may have been the port that was messed up a couple years ago when it first stopped working. I was going to uninstall and reinstall drivers if your other fixes didn't work but I don't need to, for now at least! Saving this video to my favorite and subbing your channel. Simple, easy to follow instructions that actually helped and saved me a trip to the local computer store. Cheers man!

Hello, I tried every option but it didn't work for me. My issue is that every time when I turn my mouse right, it is unplugging. Is it the fault of the mouse or my laptop?
I am looking forward for an answer!
When you say turn right - you mean literally turning the mouse while using it? Sounds like the wire for your mouse is frayed/loose inside.
Thanks for the great information. It all helped me understand the problem and fix it. :)
GREAT video!
I have an HP PavilionAll-in-One windows 10. I can try the quick power off and automatic power on but I have no way of doing any of the other options because a lot of my apps are either turned off, corrupted or have somehow lost their “connection “ so I cannot pull up a touchscreen mouse cursor nor the keyboard and my USB ports are not not working either. They stopped working while I was using the computer. I had wireless keyboard and mouse and then all of a sudden I didn’t. I have also tried all of the ports. Is there a way to just cause it to reset by using the power button. I can even get it to go online because that app is working but I cannot pull up the menu by selecting the windows tab. I get nothing there! Help?🤷🏽♀️
It was the third option that worked for me, however, my computer happens to be a desktop, not a laptop. USB are all working now, thank you.
Good afternoon 😊 I tried each step in your video including updating everything on my laptop, trying with and without the ac adaptor, different Bluetooth slots (even found out i have a third one on the other side of the laptop lol), and used a different USB device. Still nothing. My mouse lights up when I use it (it's a color changing gaming mouse) so when i plug it in, the red light on the bottom lights up and the rest of it lights up for a fraction of a second but still doesn't work :(
Bro it’s the same exact thing with me. I tried all his steps, including other videos yet no improvement.
@@michaeljack6225 hello!! So here's what happened, i had tried a different mouse and nothing so i thought yup I'm screwed. Then i find out that second mouse doesn't work on my mousepad so i tried a third mouse. Turns out my first mouse was the real issue. Try with different a mouse and mouse pad just in case. Truly hope this works for you like it did for me, i giggled when i realized it really was just my gaming mouse.
Grateful - after trying several fixes, yours worked...
Absolute newbie question here. I only have one Root Hub in my device manager.. Wondering if you're supposed to have one for each physical usb? None of these fixes worked on mine. I have 2 usb 3.0 on one side of the laptop, one of which only has power but no data - which is the issue, and the other is working fine. The other side has 1 usb 2 and working fine
updating windows resolved the problem for me. Thanks!
Glad it helped - thanks for watching!
I reset USB power setting as shown in video and problem solved on my PC. Thanks so much.
sadness nothing worked for me
Did u fixed it?
@@JumonBorthakur-pq5he my ports were dead as in the hardware and you cant replace those as there is a high risk of the motherboard dying on the laptop so in the end I had to buy a nee laptop
Your the man!!!! bro. When using CAT connection. Solved non recognition problem when I turned my Eagle 599at off and back on from the radio itself. Turning it back on the computer would not recognize the radio unless I disconnected the usb cord itself from my computer. Now it works as it should. Solution was #4 reinstalling the usb root hub drivers.
Thanks! You made it easier for me than I expected!
Great help did a update as noted and my usb ports are functioning now.😁😁
