I don't see how "camping" could get better than that. Plug in AC, comfortable bed for sleeping OR napping, no real limits on food or water you can bring, alone with the wife in a scenic remote locale and you can up and go whenever you feel like it. Pretty sweet.
Wild camping with minimal kit is still better. But I do see the appeal of van camping.

@@stevemccrory9130 that's totally true but I also feel like they tie you down a little. Eg when I was hiking and camping across scandinavia I had no vehicle so I could do long thru hikes and stuff, instead of them having to be circular to come back to a vehicle.
To address the most important point here: usually, for me, it's mustard on bacon, ketchup on burgers, brown sauce on meat pies (unless with spuds & veg; then it's gravy), mayo on chicken, horseradish on fish. Yum!

I have a giggle watching you and your good lady. As just mirror image of us. Shes into camping etc etc as it's all brand new to her. Where as I did it 20 plus yrs ago including mountaineering just before I met her. Been there done it 🤣🤣 hit 50 like my home comforts and the warmth lol like jo now. I still camp on the odd occasion to keep her happy lol 🤪🤪 but in my head I dream of big fire comfy sofa and a rum in hand 🤣🤣. I salute you jo ! We are wild camping Widows!!🤣🤣

1 red and 1 brown, and cracked black pepper on both.
Minimum of 2 rolls, with no less than 3 rashers per roll.
Cook more bacon!
If you go for a 3rd roll, then that roll gets English mustard.
Nees a fried egg in each, and don't be stingy with the sauces either.
Just got back today from bike packing in Tissington and it was slightly wet n windy 😳, but got to try out my DD Superlight with Alpkit bivvy, great bit of kit.

You wife seems like a lovely person. My wife and I camp together in a 32 foot travel trailer. Our boys are grown so it is just the two of us and our dog. We have that same "playful bickering". Keeps things interesting. Love seeing the van videos and the scenery was amazing.

We use a low wattage electric induction hob when we have an electric hookup saves gas, and “red”on bacon😎

No sauce, only butter. Melt it towards the end of cooking so it doesn't brown too much and finish with a pinch of salt (I know, but trust me)

Stayed at Staden Grange not long ago, it is a lovely site - lots of interesting fungi growing there, some affecting the trees though hence the pollarding to some. Hope you found your way to the Buxton Brewery Taphouse on the industrial estate next door, if not it is well worth another visit. 🍻😃

On a bacon sandwich I've always gone for red and brown sauce mixed together. Give it a try, it'll change your life.

Good to see you getting out and about in the van. I’m sure you’ll realise it yourself in time but you’re going to need some bigger chocks for the van. I had a set of those yellow ones, they came with my old motorhome but they’re just not high enough. You need a set of Fiamma or Milenco ones with 3 different levels on them. Looking forward to seeing how the van develops, happy travels Paul, Jo & Reggie.

I am working on the assumption that you did a dynamic risk assessment prior to setting up the awning. And as a business employing fewer than five no need to write down your risk assessments! Of course you know all this from your H&S and NEBOSH days, but H&S loss is TH-cam and the great outdoor's gain. Enjoying your videos as you focus on your channel full time.

I’ve had VW CAMPER VANS for about 20 years can I just give you a little tip you need a wind breaker around that cooker there crap in the wind and also as the bottle get 3/4 empty it takes 15 minutes to boil a kettle lol also the windbreak will stop the grey curtains being splattered with fat out the frying pan 🍳
Lovely job on the camper though credit to you both. You can’t beat a self made camper it’s so personal (bespoke) only you 2 know what you need and where to put things.
Until a silly bloke tell you a windbreak would be good lol it’s up to you 2 though x

That was a nice video Paul. I like your camping van that is a nice set up. That was funny how your wife took your pair of socks. That is one thing I don't have to worry about because I have very very extremely wide feet. my foot is 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe with very fat wide toe that are equally straight across. My foot outgrew shoes , socks , & boots 35 years ago so I don't own a pair of socks. I like your dog I take it's a black lab? Look like a very nice calm dog. I watch your livestream that you just did and I really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing your videos you have been making I have really enjoyed watching them.
