Very accurate. This is what I have been doing for three years. Only thing I would add to this is talking to the potential seller to try to gaged where they received the item. A few times I have discovered that they bought the item from a thrift store for 2 USD and it scraps out for 70 USD. There is great potential in this to increase your profits because of zero attachment and next to no investment cost.
This is really good profit if you buy it from the correct jeweler. So say that it’s around 450$, if you have a 18K and you separate the other metals, depending on the amount of grams you can make huge profit. So if the jewelry is around maybe 50 grams, if you do the math correctly, 75 percent of that is pure gold if they have the number right. So if you get 75 percent of 50, then that would result in about 37.5 grams of gold. Take around 2.4 grams of it off because of the moisture in it after you did the chemistry. So that would be around 35.1 grams of gold. If that is true and the chain is 450 dollars the ultimate amount of money would be 2,101.36 dollars, take 450 off and you made 1651 in profit.
It can be but your estimate of income honestly looks high like a pawnshop would do. I have a scrap calculator I’m going to share in one of my new videos. It will help you.

I've saved gold bars and silver bars for investment and I learned how to do it myself. I bought 5 1 gram bars from IGR in assay for 43 dollars each gram then gold value went up I can estimate I made a easy profit of 45 dollars to 60 dollars this was in 2017 I've since collected .9999 1 grain gold to hold until I want to cash it in. I've been selling silver bars and coins and fine jewelery in new condition from my collection some I sold on eBay.com some I sold to a nice jewelery store. I want to expand my horizons buying more gold. Thanks for reading.
I wanted to start buying scrap jewelry I see a lot on there that says yellow gold 24-karat and stuff like that for a good deal should I go for those thank you for your time
Ok so in the USA it’s more likely to have either 10k or 14k. There are a lot of fake marks and deceptive marks that are only plated in gold with base metals underneath. So I would say it’s high risk. I personally would have to do more tests to know for sure. It would have to have a density of 19.32 g/cm3. One of my other videos talks about that.
I got a set of .999 gold earrings in a garage sale bulk buy. Which is 24k gold It’s not quite as common as 22k., but you will come across it from time to time. Mainly India/Asia and Nepal.

Do you not use a stone to scrape and use the acid on the stone instead of the item itself?
Nope
@@IntermountainGoldRefiners Ok. Any reason why?
As far as I know that method works, but I was taught a different method. Plus I’m not keen on scratching the jewelry.
Gotcha makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
Upto half a carat diamond he do not pay. If i sell i take All Stones out. But Im a buyer, sell later..
Yeah save the stones, sell for 25% retail if you can find a jeweler that wants them.

You sell gold ? But you don't wear any ? A chain ? Or a ring ?
I wear a lord of the rings ring.

So should I just keep all my gold I’ve been collecting over the last 15 years and just melt it all together?
You can, what do you want to use it for savings?
it takes little experience to buy scrap gold. all you need is to learn to test things and now days its ex buy a testing gun.
It’s easy to buy gold plated objects at first in my opinion.
Is anyone counting the eye rolls?
Let me know the total.

No, but most Asian gold jewelry comes in 0.9170 %. Gold jewelry wears out faster if it is pure.

Yeah I’ve been watching that situation with diamonds. Synthetic gold might be radioactive and less useful though.
They can make gold but it took a multi million dollar facility and tens of thousands of pounds hours of work to make a match head size
Diamonds are crystallized carbon, but gold is just gold, it can't be made from anything except gold without an insane amount of energy
