    Thanks for sharing your video. Amazing work you do with the bees. We hope to bring back bees to our neck of the woods. They disappeared 4 years ago. And we hope to catch a swarm too-with help from a beekeeper!

    Wish you were close to south Carolina. We have honey bees in a huge cataba (I'm sure I didn't spell that right). They have been in the middle of the tree for at least 5+ years. Recently they have been coming out in the hundreds+thousands. Just hanging out at the opening of the hive on the tree (about a foot long and wide on the tree). Almost like they are making too much of their honey and r trying to contain it back inside. Idk if that's possible. But I have children that play outside and I'm worried they will get stung on accident. I can't find any beekeepers around here. My daddy wants to come and kill them but I'm on the fence about that. What would u consider to do?

    This waiting game is very boring sorry it it's true. I which I could lie but I'm brain damaged I can only tell the truth. Thank You Loader you are right, I've never seen this one completely before an most likely won't but Thank You. For keeping them safe. Yes people after this comment, I kept watching its fascinates me, the length that people will go to to help a bee. Gives me hope for the race.

    • @ThomasShue
      @ThomasShue 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +dfishman76 glad I watched to the end. I am a new bee keeper. I have done a couple of reloactions of hives, I do it free locally. This lady had a big hive in a tree, I can't cut the tree, but wanted to find a way to get the queen out. now I know a new hive its possible, but an established on hive no go.
      I thought of putting a box near the tree, and block all the holes to the tree, and put a cone of wire mesh on the single entrance I'm such a way that the bees can come out, bit not go back in.
      Then hope the bees go to the box. couldn't I re queen the bees that can't get back in?
      How would you deal with it?

    • @dfishman76
      @dfishman76  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Thomas Shue check out my trapout videos. That's what I would do if I was going to try to get them out of the tree. I would wait until spring to do that. To late in the season to try a trapout. If it was me I would not mess with the bees. I would put a swarm trap near them and try to catch a swarm off of them in the spring. Only time I remove bees from a tree is when they have to be removed.

    • @dfishman76
      @dfishman76  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mitchell Shepherd if they are in the tree and not hurting anyone or anything I would leave them there. I would put a swarm box up near the tree and hope to catch a swarm off of them in the spring of the year. Getting bees out of a tree and not damaging the queen can be a difficult thing.
