Inter is currently the only team in Serie A that actually puts faith in Italian players, thats why i respect them. Milan just recently launched a youth team in Serie C and is hoping to integrate more italian players in the future so we'll have to wait and see what comes of that. Young italian players are talented. it's just some of these dimwitted clubs in Serie A that cater more to foreigners.

Media n fans can only discuss abt this problem. But it is a very helpless situation. Serie A clubs will continue to think just business. Govt. intervention will invite bans from Fifa.
Can FIGC put regulations to increase italian players in club squads? Has it been done in any other nation? I dont know

Como is a great example of that. Like why buy over the hill non-Italians when you can invest and play Italian youngsters

The problem from the beginning over the years is the Italian clubs were able to get around the number of Italians on a squad since so many foreigners now hold Italian or EU passports.

It's not a youth problem, it's a foreign player problem. The young crop of players are good, Serie C has an under/over quota which forces teams to play young players. But Serie A is saturated with foreign players and these good young Italians aren't able to play consistently, or indeed at all, in Serie A. Easy problem to solve, put a limit on foreign players, not just in the squad list but in the starting line up.

Or like Spanish and French players, italian players if they don't miss their pizza should go to other top leagues to compete at world level clubs. Even juve is declining for years.

They can’t restrict the amount of foreign players due to EU laws Gravina said it in a statement.
Young Italian players need to be trusted by the Italian clubs and also good enough to play in all the big teams in Europe.
I would love to see Juve /Milan/Inter/Napoli & Roma boast 4-5 Italians in there starting line ups mixed in with players playing in La liga & Premier league & Germany.
We need to try and get big Clubs around Europe buying Italian players to start at there clubs this is something we are the worst at compared to England Spain Portugal & Germany
I mean when was the last time Man City or Real Madrid had an Italian in there Starting 11 😬

Veratti was a recent prime example, his talent was obvious and an Italian club bought him from Pescara they would have loand him out etc until he is close to 23 years and brought him back. With PSG they threw him straight into 11st eleven and he was playing CL football and was allowed to play with courage by insisting on his style of press resistance. He would have been coached out of that in Italy.
DiMarco was overlooked by Conte when Inter was screaming for a LBW. Conte tried so many useless players until after he left he got brought back.
Liberali and Camarda will treated like they are 11 year old and not seen as players with talent to take risk on. While Musiala, Yamal etc are playing for big clubs for their respective club these two highly talented Italian players will continue to play ar youth level well into their early 20s.
Chiesa, the most talented Italian player we've got to be treated so bad by Juventus. And they want to bring in Greenwood or Sancho instead. I mean this level of self sabotage is amazing.
Look where Pafundi is, no way near any consideration. Same with Baldanzi, Roma brought in a French guy who will ahead of him. Amazing

What doesn’t get mentioned is that other countries don’t send their best youth players to these competitions because they already play at a higher level.

In my opinion, the FIGC needs someone who won't hesitate to limitate the numbers of foreign players in Serie A & B teams. My biggest hope is the end of the Bosman ruling: if the EU will crash and burn, it will mean the end of the Bosman ruling and then, european clubs will focus on national players. It's the best thing that could happen to European soccer.

This has been a problem for as long as I can remember, and has sadly got exponentially worse in recent years. It's not just exclusive to Italy either. I wouldn't have an issue with the high quantity of foreign players in Serie A if they were of an obviously higher quality. The trouble is many of them are mediocre, so it begs the question, why are so many Italian clubs discriminating on the two counts of age and Italian nationality? Why do our clubs insist on spending so much money outside of Italy (transfer and extortionate agent fees), when surely it would cost less, and be more profitable, if Italian clubs give our talented youngsters a fair opportunity?
I cannot help but feel that there is something sinister at play here, that the likes of Blackrock/Vanguard - with their ESG and BRIDGE quotas meddling - and their "you have to force behaviour" dictates being at play, because everything we're seeing defies merit, logic and good sense.

Predictable... if you speak to a professional and throw your subjective feelings away: players didn't become worse technically, it's the team play that became better. So I hope no more wine streams about how cool players were 20 years ago and how bad (technically) are they now.
