It was just insane and disgusting and I couldnt be a part of it anymore. Like the top level pros make mistakes in that game, yet the fucking mid level players will rip anyone to pieces for making a single mistake. my second story is about the fundamental attribution error and its role in video game toxicity, the fundamental attribution error basically theorizes that most people have a tendecy to attribute good behaviours of others as being situational (aka "they just got lucky") and bad behaviours as being characteristic. If someone has a zero damage game (which almost every single player even aceu or imperialhal or whoever has had at some point) you think they are a terrible player but you know maybe they didnt land on any guns or their game was bugged or maybe they just sucked in that moment but they are actually a good player normally. its logical and reasonable to make this assumption (by the opposite is true of yourself, your good behaviours like when you get a squad wipe and feel like your so good at the game versus when you do something bad it was a situational factor like lag) this is a basic way that we protect our egos and our self esteems. Im obviously not trying to say anything about this video specifically those guys were dickheads you only the one game and their usernames to go off when you made that first judgement and you were right on the money but this fundamental attribution error is something those two dickheads are also probably very guilty of they probably pop off like they just won algs when they get a 10+ kill game. Its just meant to be a generalized lesson about how to treat other people and how to maybe be more aware of some of your own flaws. try to be a little more like rachet and give people a second chance, at least they werent as horrible during the second game but the end was still gross they should have just owned up to being dicks and apologized.
