As someone with BPD I can relate to this so so much. Having a crisis whilst having a diagnosis like that can be brutal. I always describe it as "becoming possessed by demons". It's like someone else takes over and you are not in your body anymore and that demon starts going after what you love the most. You become cruel and nasty and there's almost no force that can stop you from hurting the ones you love the most. The worst part is snapping out of it, wakin up and looking at the aftermath of it all...all the damage, all the pain, all the destruction. It's horrible. I'm glad her loved ones can see through all that because it's not easy. I hope she feels better now.
EDIT: I KNOW SELENA HAS BIPOLAR DISORDER AND NOT BPD! What i meant is: I can sympathyze because we share the symptoms she's describing in the video.

Yes. I have Bipolar Disorder Type I, and my God I have said the worst things to the people who love me the most, when I was at my worst. Then, later, I'm crying my eyes out, telling them I'm so sorry, and that I love them so much. My Mom has heard I'm sorry from me about a thousand times. It really is a vicious cycle. 😢💔

When I see her on the video, I'm so broken-hearted. Id really know if I have the same issue but at the same time, i surely think.
I even relate and notice she's crying as the same way as me. I have so some mercy on her.

I’m so glad she’s sharing this and doing better but as someone who suffers from mental illness myself it makes me realize what real support looks like and I’ve never had that. No one has ever stuck by me or even cared enough to be invested enough to want to know what’s going on with me. She is super lucky to have people who encouraged and cared for her and I know she is grateful for that.

When you have bipolar disorder and are in the phase of mania, you might get angry really and kinda freak out, curse everyone, broke objects, you really get out of control very easy. And then a week after you are laying in your bed in depression phase, thinking about taking your life, not eating, and regretting everything you did last week. It's really exhausting having this change of humor so suddenly, it puts a lot of pressure into your body and your brain. I have BPD, I know how it feels like.

  • @breno191296

I have BPD and I regret a lot of thing that I said to my parents and friends, some friend I've lost because of that, and after I got the diagnosis I felt a relief cause I was consumed by guilty and regrets, I really thought I was crazy and mean person, I hated myself wildly, I've attempted, and when I realized that everything that I have is a disorder everything made sense, and saw a light at the end of the tunnel, I've started my treatment with regular therapy and remedies and I'm feeling better now. Selena saying about this out loud might help a lot of people who don't know what's going on inside themselves, will help people to acknowledge and get professional help.

My family has bipolar. I was diagnosed at age 50, my mother is severely bipolar, my brother ended his life in 2012. My mother called me a little bitch since I was young. She recently ruined another party and cursed me out. My mother is very mean when manic and has said awful things to me my whole life without an apology or remorse for her actions. It is really healthy and admirable that you realize when you’ve done something wrong and own it and apologize. That means you’re conscious and in touch with the truth which I believe is a wonderful way to heal. I run more hypomanic and put a lot of energy into my work. I am aware most of the time when I start feeling irritated and sleep less and I do my best to not bite back. Often, I’ll withdraw during those times and focus on art and writing. I did have 1 manic episode when I was leaving my abusive ex and my fear of him manifested into a full blown manic episode with psychosis. I had kept inside for 16 years that my ex was abusive to me and my sons. I didn’t recognize the abuse because my mother was mean. I thought Love meant being forgiving. Love is kind. Now I know and have done a lot of work to love myself. Thank you for sharing. We all love you and care very much

I knew what was causing me the hell I’ve been experiencing for years. The answer to that “why” when I’d loose my control. From that point I took the control back. That was such a liberating moment that I bursted into tears from the relief I felt. I relate to her in ways, that her story is comforting to hear. It’s a lack of t3 and t4 hormone, which is simply regulated by thyroid medication . I have friends that would she biololar and it is a seeious illness

    • @dudette7681
      @dudette7681 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@tulinbeyduz920 NONE is comparing it to any mental disease. Take the context as it is without misunderstanding or discrediting. Both me and this person had low days, because we hypothyroidism led to a lack in vitamin d3, calcium and other biochemical components that are important in the biochemical regulation of the body and brain. All of the thyroid disregulation cases are not the same, in terms of symptoms and physiologically. Plus, Selena had an auto-immune disease + heavy medication + bipolarity. The person was comparing the fact of dealing with an auto-immune disease. It's not fun, especially in the period prior medication.

Having a Bipolar Spectrum Disorder is one of the most immensely destabilizing conditions you can deal with. It ruins you’re live if you don’t begin trialing medications, and many of them aren’t well-tolerated.

I wish all people with mental illness were so willing to get help and work on themself. It goes both ways. Because people with mental illness need support, true. But it's also true that your family has their own problems too so they can't cope with constant toxicity/abuse either, so the mentally ill person also needs to be willing to seek out help and work on themself

People that don't have it don't understand its war with yourself one side wants to give up and the other side wants to fight I know everybody goes threw that part but a person with bipolar is constantly going threw it so your constantly battle you're battling your mood swing that changes with it with teetering back and forth that why a person with bipolar will be depressed with negative feelings then when the side that fights win the battle brings out the positivity afterwards but the more the teetering happens the more the negative to positive moods swings its exhausting and draining for the person like myself and everyone else that has to deal with people usually turn their back and we are left fighting the unsupported in the battle because of the negative moods swings we get shunned and we guilty for the way we handle ourselves which makes harder because we feel unloved which puts more weight to the negative I definitely know how Selena feels and admire her courage and coming out and sharing her battle if I knew that she would see this I'd tell keep going allot of people love her and she's helping people with bipolar realize wow Selena Gomez made it to be something in life in fact she's famous you give people hope especially your fans that suffer from bipolar ♥

Francis has really a good heart n tremendous love towards Selena her intention was so good when Selena was indulging with alcohol Francia was so worry her n fear f for her life.. But Selena is kind f proudly or I don't no she took it that kindhearted reminding words as toxic and bad way. Selena, I just want to say my opinion there are some reasons people would criticized us / talk about us some intention can be bad but some intention would be love and goodhearted towards us so I believe there is a time for everything depend on d person heart n intention we should take it in positive way or negative way. Giving away part f own body to another person is super big things, I don't think so Taylor Swift wud do to you.. So we can clearly see francia love towards you is tremendous and more than Taylor.. Forgive others for depends on the reasons.. We all need to learn forgiveness, there is something to learn daily. I'm just saying as a mother intention I've no bad intentions towards you I just have love towards you.

I know how it feels on Selena 2020 was the bad day for Selena because in the film my mind and me hit Selena hared and it was a huge nightmare I know mental health can be sickness but also effect the brain and feeling down and be nasty and crying a lot the and waking up and start to feel like you are a mess a deep mess Selena is so brave she will always be in our side and still support all of us and her amazing fans and releasing albums and a lot of music just like back in 2015 when she released same old love and that is my favorite song to her and this year Selena released a song called single soon and I like it a lot I'm going to share that song to my friends and even my family I'm a super fan to Selena since many years and I still care about her

Not that I'm trying to diminish her experience, but may be it was just a phase. We don't have to always diagnose or put terms on things just for it to make sense. Anyway, I'm glad she is in a better phase of life.🙏🏿

It is not a phase, I was diagnosed later than she was. I continued to struggle and it kept getting worse until I finally got the confirmation of BPD. And I am one of the lucky ones bc I live in a country where there is excellent health care services. My life got better and easier once I knew what my struggles were really about.
