I love working 3 in a row! My schedule is literally m-w every week. Its gets tiring especially on days with multiple admits or discharges but when those days off hit...its all worth it.
Yes sis! I'm Sun Mon Tues lately I been setting it up where I get 5 days off instead of 4. 😍 It feels like being on a mini vacation every week. This is definitely the life for me. I can't imagine going back to mon through fri 8 to 5 and being too best to enjoy the weekend 😩
I feel you on this video. I just worked 12 hours 7 days straight when I tell you I was exhausted and I’m enjoying my 6 days off. I’m a PCT while finishing up Nursing
I feel like I’ve been trying to get into a nursing program as long as I’ve been watching your videos! 😅 started way back when you posted “how to get into nursing school after failing a&p” 😂😂 (took it 3 times and finally made a B 💀) Now FINALLY I’m doing the application process. Anyways just wanted to say I LOVE your channel and your videos help me stay hopeful and optimistic!
I feel that!! I’ve been trying to get into my school’s nursing program for the last 3 years, which is how long I’ve been watching her videos! It’s been a struggle but it’s gonna be so worth it in the end, and watching her videos has definitely kept me optimistic through it all. Fingers crossed and best of luck to you on your nursing journey! 💛
Omg me as well!! This will be my second time taking A&P and my first time taking organic chemistry. I’m so nervous for my spring semester. Being a mom and a wife I know it will be hard but I just have to prioritize my time . I’m so nervous .
Hahaha I felt that in my soul girl: “is working really worth it, I think an extra 30 minutes in my bed is worth my entire career at this point”. Literally me every single morning as a high school teacher.
You are so right about Saturday/Sunday being a slow day, and of course two hours into work and it blew up in my face lol. Never use the "slow/quit" word, but for most part the weekend is more laid back. We all were just sitting around watching CNN when they made the announcement.
Loveeee you Biscuit😘. We love to see HIM ( or at least I DO). Been a nurse for over a year now and idk I feel like 8hrs is all I can mentally give!!! But I do love my days off, so I know 12s be LIT! Maybe I’ll get there one day🤷🏽♀️
Love this so much and how transparent you are. I’m also pursing my nursing career and intrigued into becoming a congresswoman (for multiple reasons). If you end up taking the necessary steps towards this PLS vlog it 💕💕
Girl, You already do Great things, I went to CNA school and was going to go to LVN School but realized I am way to emotional and sensitive to deal with the Drama and sadness that goes into being a Nurse. Plus I just cant afford to go back to school. You still inspire me. Also, I realized I'am super passionate about politics now too and if I could afford it, id probably go to Law school so I could do more for the world! Keep it up!
Can you please do a video on how to give report. Im still in nursing school but i find muswlf struggling to give report at clincials in post conference
I work 3 in a row, but night shifts and let me tell you usually I’m dreading going on the first day because I know I have 2 more, but the actual shift I’m okay. Day two: I want to curl up and die right there, like bro do we have any empty beds cuz I’m going down fast lol and day three and just so freaking excited I don’t have to come back later, I could get admissions, a fall, a code you name it and I’m still in a good mood 😂😂
I've been watching you for a while and am starting a nursing program in January!!! I'm so excited I can't wait to start. You've been such a big help and watching your vids really motivates me!
People really underestimate us mother baby nurses, right?! Texas is poppin’ with all the babies! It’s the couplet charting and education that really gets ya 😝 Sometimes the busy nature and stress can be less of the busy work, and more of the dress....like if a baby or mom craps out on you in any way, temps, pressures, bili, etc... Every specialty brings its challenges but I really think mother baby stretches RNs a lot in terms of ratios and hopping back and forth between neonate and adult!
word, I can dig it I watch your channel too thanks Amanda, I can hardly wait to get into this career and get it going. LVN school starts in 3 weeks it's a TRIP! it's HERE!!... YES!
WORD! let's GO! very cool of you to do these video's thank's a lot I'm a Nursing student in Los Angeles {LVN} I want to work in the Emergency dept. upon graduation I appreciate people like yourself who give back and share thing's like this super nice of you and generous thanks 1'000% from future nurse Bryan.
Giiirl! MBU days is very different from other specialties! Such high pt. turn around makes things get crazy. My hospital recently changed to 24 hrs discharge for vag and 48 hrs for C-sections, it is insane.🥴 Not to mention, the high risk variety of the TMC? LOL PPHs, sugar babies, IUGRs, hiperbili, chorio, coombs positive is all we get here 😅. You will get great experience from your facility though. 🥰👍. I am glad you are adapting well 🙂
I love your channel! You give me so much inspiration! 💕 I apply for nursing at the end of the semester & I’m praying I get in! 🤞🏾 thanks for all the advice and tips!! ☺️👏🏾
I love 90 day fiance and I am so behind due to being in nursing school. I just passed my last exam and will be graduating next month. Thank you for your videos.
As soon as you said it was gonna be slow, I was like 🤫. I work in the nursery in a community hospital and it’s the best. I’m trying to avoid working in downtown Houston cus the traffic is no joke plus my job is 10 mins away which means maximum sleep. Lol
90 day fiance the other way will have you hooked with the drama it's everything for me. 90 day happily ever after is funny with the newer seasons but can drag on frrl.
I know everyone is different, but you know what’s crazy.. I had Covid as well and it made me more paranoid. Idk why?!?! I’m trying with the help of my husband to go out more, but I’ll be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit anxious.
Vice President Kamala Harris is definitely an inspiration! I too watched her acceptance speech multiple times. I'm actually in my maternity rotation right now for my BSN, and we had our first day on postpartum for clinical and I loved it more than I thought I would! Going back to Kamala though, we watched a documentary on TH-cam for our maternity class called the Naked Truth: Death by Delivery, and after that eye-opener, I am considering writing my local senate, etc. about this overlooked atrocity! Check it out when you have time, and be sure to have your tissues ready. After my run in the ED post-graduation, that documentary has inspired me to become an L&D nurse to be a strong advocate for women of color!
What are some helpful tips and tricks to pass with an A or B in A&P 1 & 2 & also microbiology??? I desperately need help cuz I'm honestly not the smartest person when it comes to anything science related and I REALLY REALLY need some help with these classes. I would IMMENSELY appreciate any and all help. PLEASE help a fellow inspired nursing student out 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Is it normal to have failed my Exit exam the first time, I feel like crap and don't know we're to start studying before my next test test 11/23/20, help?
Don’t feel that way! At least you know what to expect. Were you able to get an analysis on what you got wrong?? I would use that to guide you on what you need to review..
@@nhonore1 thank you this feeling of failure sucks😞, I don't have what I got wrong but I kind of know my weakness is really understanding what the question is asking sometimes, plus maternity is hard for me
So this may be a dumb question but do you mainly assess the baby & then educate the mother mainly? Or do you assess the mother as well / what does that look like?
You assess both mother and baby every 4 to 8 hrs. during the shift and make sure they both remain stable. There are days where mom will be unstable and transferred to L&D for close monitoring and we keep baby in the nursery. Or baby is unstable and is transferred to NICU and mom is kept in MBU.
