Hi Everyone, Quick update as I tend to do after trying the product for a considerable length of time.....Unfortunately I've had to stop using both of these products as they started to break me out in skin congestion. I'm sure this is down to the coconut derivatives which tend to be my kryptonite. Such a shame as the products are both lovely, even if the Complexion Rescue Gel is slightly temperamental. Hope this update helps xxx
Pampered Wolf hi Gemma, I was wondering if you had tried the Bobbi Brown stick foundation? I am looking to get a stick foundation but can’t decide between bare minerals or Bobbi Brown 🤔
I have crazy dry/dehydrated skin and I bought this stick foundation in 1.5 birch last week. I made the mistake of also buying the physicians formula healthy skin foundation and I happened to use that one first and I’m absolutely in love with that one. It blends in so well and looks just like my own skin. It stays on all day and doesn’t look cakey or patchy on my dry spots. Both foundations have shades that match me perfectly which is really nice, I just need to really try out the bareminerals and give it a chance which I haven’t done yet.
The bareminerals complexion rescue gel is my favorite summer foundation. I usually cover it with the bareminerals mineral powder, and set it with setting spray, it lasts all day, and its natural. I have dry, mature skin, and use a sponge to apply. I haven't use the stick yet. Sticks tend to be more powdery with most foundations, and don't last as long because you need more to apply. After this review I may try the stick, it seems more convenient. Thanks for the review!
I just bought these two products in vanilla. I use the gel all over & stick in the center areas of my face for more coverage. I love it ❤️ finally found something I can do everyday without it being full cakey foundation. Gives a nice natural glow too
Betsy art designs ! I brought yesterday the gel one it’s suits me so much ,,, i have very dry skin,,but in the center of my nose i have redness it didn’t cover this area ,,do i think i will buy the stick to cover this area ,,,,thank you for the good idea
Gemma, I am going to try the stick foundation for sure. I have very dry skin so it sounds like a wonderful fit for me. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
I can highly recommend both for very dry and as well as eczema- and rosacea-prone skin. I always had a dry and very sensitive skin that nonetheless looked beautiful, luckily no needs for heavy foundation. But within the last year I developed a light rosacea and therefore felt uncomfortable with the red spots and all that stuff related to this issue. I then tried a lot of stuff (definitely NO full coverage foundations for me at all, these look awful on my skin!) and finally discovered the tinted moisturiser. It doesn’t irritate my skin or worsen my rosacea and does look like my skin, but better and evened out. I use it together with the BM serum concealer on the spots where I need more coverage. Here in Germany, the stick foundation has been released at the beginning of April and I immediately got it and have worn it since. I love this product so so much, it gives me just the coverage I need and feels really hydrating and lightway on my face! And thankfully no irritation or further problems for my skin - when I use a wrong product, my skin immediately breaks out and worsens. So thumbs up for this!
@Kati do you find it hard to get it to stay on your nose? I have slight redness too and was wondering about this issue. I cannot get anything to look good on my nose! 😕
@ Deetzah: I have no problems with the staying power. I dust my face slightly with powder to set everything and it stays very long and well. But even my t-zone is very dry and I think that helps everything to stay in place. A friend of mine has an oily t-zone and she uses a mattifying and oil-controlling primer to help her foundation stay longer. Perhaps that may help you as well (if it’s an oily t-zone that makes your foundation break up). If this is the problem, I can highly recommend TH-camr Nikkia Joy - she is an expert for oily skin and has many recommendations for staying power. Even if you don’t have oily or combination skin, her content may help you with you issues.
Love both of these foundations. The Rescue however is tricky. Kinda have it down but the stick has been much more consistent. I keep grabbing it & the gel has moved to the back of my drawer. I like them because my skin is always better after using them. IDK why exactly. I wouldn't say they are perfect but they are the ones I use most often & have replaced. TY! You are fun to watch. Enjoy your reviews.
Thanks Gemma, I was relieved that you didn’t hate the stick because I just purchased it! I have very dry skin so I always make sure and moisturize and because I live in Florida I always wear an SPF under my makeup and let it settle in before I put on makeup. Congratulations on your kids not getting into a row before you finished your video....you are adorable!
I love the Complexion Rescue Gel...it was what I wore to work when I had a bad reaction to a face wash (burnt off a layer of skin 😕), was so moisturising for my poor skin & now I use it on “no makeup days” 😊 Great video as usual. Cheers Bron
I have both. I have very dry mature skin and am very picky with my foundations,. Most foundations don’t work on my skin, but I am pretty pleased with the stick foundation. I do have to lightly set the foundation and use Morphe setting spray ( it supposedly doesn’t have alcohol in it)
I bought the stick foundation for travel trying to bring less liquids. I have combo mature skin skin and love it but it isn’t long lasting. Thanks for the great review.
Always helpful and thanks for the tip about the application of the original CR. I guess I was applying with my fingers and honestly I hardly reach for it because results were not great on my mature skin. I battle keeping foundation under my nose and on my nose, still have oily areas and 62, crazy! I am going to try and apply like you did and will see how it goes along with the BM powder which I have.
You know I ALWAYS love foundation videos that you do! Always awesome! I personally need something that is a little more coverage but, I was really impressed at how beautiful the stick looked. And you couldn't have had a better shade match, if you tried. Both looked lovely but, I could see what you were talking about with the gel and your dry spots. I could never get by with a tinted moisturizer, even one that built up to light foundation. Great video, as usual. Thanks so much. 💜
Hi Gemma hope your ok today , I do have bare minerals foundation but I have never used it ! Mine is the powder one ! Is it me but is it pinker than the other side ! The stick side looks really nice , this video has been interesting thank you ,
I have both the complexion rescue stick and the gel. The stick looks beautiful on my normal to dry skin but it DOES NOT LAST. Same experience for me - after three hours my nose is shiny even with setting powder and the coverage has vanished. The gel lasts longer particularly if set with Mineral Veil but it does settle into fine lines. The stick I use for travel and the gel I use for a light coverage for days where I’m being casual. I really like them both, but they aren’t my go to foundations when I want to look particularly polished.
Thank you for your review! I just ordered this. What I like about it most is that you can still see your skin through the pigments in this formula! Its lovely on you 😊💯
Thanks Gemma for the Bare Minerals tutorial!!👏🤗 I will definitely be trying this if I can get my hands on it!! I do like Bare Minerals products, been using them for a long time.❤️💄💋
Love your review, full of information, chemistry and honesty. If I am thinking of buying a new product I check for your review first. Thank you so much. 💝💋
Hi Gemma, I have never tried a stick foundation!!! maybe I will give it a try because it does look very nice, and good for travel I would think. Thank you for this review, always appreciate how much trouble you take. 😘😘
I find the stick to feel and wear as you did. It's creamy and provides more coverage without building. It is going fast, however. It won't last 30 days.
Have been wearing Bamboo shade for 2 years, 2 tubes finished , loved how easy it is and the claimed pros. Checking shade, planning to repurchase, put it on my arm, it turns pinkish quickly, not how it is when applied. Then realised that’s why I often felt my face and neck didn’t match. Not gonna bother buying it ever again. Back to the mission of searching for decent tinted moisturiser again.
Would like you to add what items you would take with you in your purse after you do a full face look. I was thinking the stick would be good to take along for touch up? Do you think it would work for that?
The Complexion rescue didn't work for me. I found there's really not enough pigment to unify my complexion, and it gave me pore that usually don't exist. It felt greasy even though I have dry skin. Clearly a pass for me! When it comes to tinted moisturisers I'd rather add pigment drops to my face cream.
I just bought this stick foundation (haven't tried yet) and looks like I made I right choice. Looking forward to start using it :) Thanks for the video.
I love the natural SPF in BareMinerals! .... I tried a sample of the Complexion Rescue gel and it didn't impress me much... My skin is normal with a rare dry patch occasionally. The cooling effect was nice but I struggled with even coverage. (That was most likely user error as I rarely use anything other than powder foundations) ... Thanks for another great video.
I can’t make the gel formula work on my skin. My pores get very noticeable and the shiny/dewy texture is not forgiving on a not so perfect skin. My other problem is the shade range, even though I’m light/medium, the shades I tried are too light or too yellow.
Hi, great video.I waited for it. Do you think that the stick will be ok on mature skin. I ve already got the gel but I think buy the stick just to add more coverage only on the area I ve got sun damages. I am sorry for my English I am French girl who are almost the same age as your mother 😊 thank you. I forgot what did you do to your lashes they re amazing !
I'll get my mum to try it Caro. I've got a feeling that she won't like it as it's not transfer resistant and doesn't have great longevity, but I'll see what she thinks anyway xxx
I wore complexion rescue for years, and my pores stayed clogged, my skin is in much better shape now. Maybe it was the coconut, had no idea lol But I did get lots of compliments:)
The stick formula looked really easy to apply, shame it's not a long lasting one , when I do put my makeup on I do like it to stay on with minimal touch ups. Happy Easter Holidays. Take care everyone 😉
Just found your channel a few weeks ago ,bing watching so much information on so many products . Great job any tips on rosecea skin mine has just appeared age related I think .Thanks
Rosecea is a difficult subject to discuss without seeing your skin. It is important to consult a skin professional or doctor to determine why and what products should be used xxx
I love foundation videos so I'm happy to hear more are coming soon. You looked beautiful in both products but I liked the stick a bit better. Too bad they didn't wear longer. Thanks for the video. I haven't used a stick foundation for decades! I think back then it was Max Factor Pan Stick and it was great on stage but not in person...lol. I've been afraid of stick foundations ever since. If your Mum would wear this I may try it but I don't want to look like I've been prepared for burial! 😄 Enjoy the kids and the holiday. Happy Easter to you and your family! xxxooo
Tell you what Vivian, I'll get the no. 7 foundation for you and you can get the Revlon Candid for me! Good idea? Honestly, I'm being serious. The Revlon isn't available in the UK 😥😥😥. Let me know what you think about my cheeky idea, 😊😊XX
@@vivianh9672 DM me @ChristineMoss25 and we can sort it out. Apparently we DO have Revlon Candid here 😮😮. But that's ok. I'm more than happy to help you get the no. 7 foundation. Just realised, no. 7 is sold at Boots and so is the Revlon, well that's an easy shop! ☺☺👍
Never tried their foundations before. Yes I live under a rock.lol Never tried a stick foundation either but am curious. I'll check them out after I pay buckets to get my dog's teeth cleaned by her vet. Thank you for this review. Nice to know the stick wasn't stiff but creamy.🤔❤🤗🌈😉👍xxx
Actually the stick foundation came out in February in the U.S. I have been using it since then and love it! I also own the other one but I like the stick the best! However I don't wear makeup every day since I am always at home so I couldn't tell you how long it will last. I have had it on for over 10 hours today and it still looks great but I did set it with Make-up Forever's translucent powder.
I just ordered this from Sephora and according to tracking, it should be delivered tomorrow. On the hunt for a "holy grail" lighter foundation/tinted moisturizer with a high spf that works well under a light topping of powder foundation. Hoping it works!
Hi Gemma! I love your videos! I’ve had the stick foundation for just over a month now. Bare minerals original is my holy grail, but I was intrigued by the prospect of quicker application with the stick. I have to say the stick gave me flawless, dewy skin. So much so I thought I found my new holy grail. After a month of using it, I have had numerous bumps and breakouts all over my face! Nooooooo!!!! I cleanse my face religiously at night. I am so disappointed that it’s not working. Another negative for me is the amount of product. I use three small swipes on my each side of my face. (Forehead, cheek, jaw) This won’t last two months. I’ve switched back to my trusty original powder, even though application takes a bit longer. Flawless finish, and lasts forever!
I new I remembered seeing this review somewhere..Anyway I absolutely love the Complexion Rescue Gel..It works magnificently on my 65 year old face...Did your Mum try it? Thank you as always..
Hi Gemma, I have been following your channel for a year now and love it! I love the content but most important I feel that I can relate. Finally a beauty channel for us girls in our late 30's. I haven't been talkative so far but really I have been following a lot of your make up tips and it has made a great difference. I wanted to ask you, what is the deal with those dry patches? I never had them until a couple of months ago. Is it because of age? How do you deal with them? My skin has been dehydrated from time to time but never dry. I have normal skin with a bit oiliness on my T zone so those dry patches next to my lips were quite a surprise. Hope to hear from you...and by the way, I love your eyebrows lately, they look very natural. Did you change something? Love and hugs from Amsterdam ;)
Hi Konstantina....Fabulous name BTW. I put my dry patches down to hormonal changes and the medication that I'm on for my skin. My skin changes so drastically from day to day so it isn't unusual for me....however I don't usually have dry cheeks xxx
I had to come back on here to remember what all you had said about the tinted moisturizer bc I bought it and used it for the first time yesterday. With the way I applied it it looked terrible! I’m going to go back in with it after watching this again and hopefully it turns out well.
Hi Britt, I did say that it was often temperamental. Sometimes it looks awful....sometimes it goes on like a dream. Make sure you shake up the bottle really well xxx
Pampered Wolf yes, I did try that and I applied a light layer using my hands to blend it in. It very low coverage so I kind of used that as a primer under one of my foundations and it seemed ok like that. I’m going to try it a few ways you had suggested but if it keeps giving me a hard time applying I might end up returning it. I did buy the Tarte foundcealer and I seem to like it so far but my holy grail is still the physicians formula healthy foundation. The maybelline cc cream just came to the states so I’ve definitely got to try that out!! I may have to mix two to get the right shade but I’m also going to use the very fair shade to mix with my IT cosmetics cc+ cream to lighten it up bc the IT cc lightest shade in fair is still a tad bit too dark so hopefully thy will work out for me!
Birch arriving tomorrow via the wonderful world of Amazon. Purchased even before I saw this video…..though , Gemma …. I’ve watched you for years. You’re amazing and refreshing and so honest and thorough! Grateful for all of your time and money and help with us ladies wanting to look their best. May God bless you always …and your family and your darling mom….Mary
Initially I thought "Yes, we have a winner". But the lasting power is pathetic (say what you mean Chrissy 🤣🤣). A real shame as the stick foundation looked beautiful. Great review Gemma, honest and informative, ❣💛💛💛❣
I've just ordered the stick online - praying I've ordered the right colour (3.5 Cashew) - just went on the description on their website - I HATE buying new foundations because I'm still not sure whether I'm warm, cool, pink, neutral, yellow .... so always plump for neutral, it looks lovely on you. x do you think this will play nicely with a mineral sunscreen such as 'Colourscience'?
Hey up! I love watching your videos ! Thank you. I just wondered if you’ve tried the L’Oreal pro glow? I just bought some from amazon (about three weeks ago) and it’s amazing in my opinion. I think maybe you’d like it :-) Keep up the good work Becks
Pampered Wolf indeed - when I first saw it in a video review I thought , “yeah, I know that one , they have it in boots!” ; it was actually the no7 one I’d seen. Lol.... they are very similar in packaging so it doesn’t surprise me that they are similar in formula and payoff too ...I’ve not tried the no7 , but I will give it a shot! Ty PW x
Okay if the BM gel was dry on me should we assume the stick would be???? I have dry skin due to using Tretinoin 😭😭😭😭😭every month I wanna go off it so I can have my “normal” face back where I could use any foundation on my face and it be okay. I’m only using Tretinoin for anti aging
Lisa I'm not a huge fan of tretinoin for this reason....what is the point in having dry flaky skin now so in the future your skin can look nicer? You need to build up skin tolerance to tretinoin. Use a tiny amount mixed in with moisturiser at first and then build up the strength using less and less moisturiser in the mix. xxx
Why does mine pill when I put it on? I really want to love this product but it pills while I rub it in in some places. I swear I’m not running too hard or anything
Okay, so this thread is really interesting. I have tried both and thought they were awful! No matter what method I used, the stick just kept sliding across my skin; I had even bought the suggested applicator which I found to be less than useless. I returned the stick and was offered the rescue in exchange; not much better tbh, although I did manage to get it to blend over my cheeks etc, I had to remove it from my forehead where it looked like polka dot pores and my eyebrows were caked. I removed it from there and just used bronzer to cover that area. I'm going to try mixing it with another foundation to see if I can get it to perform better, but overall, seriously unimpressed! Won't be buying again. ☹😞😔
You have to apply the stick foundation so sparingly. I got a better application applying it to the brush rather than directly to the face. With regards to the Complexion rescue gel, I still find this very temperamental and it blocks my pores. xxx
Thanks Gemma. I did try it with a brush, with the merest amount of foundation on my face. With primer and without; made no difference. It's a shame, because I really wanted it to work as I wanted a more natural product. Never mind; lessons learned!
Hi Everyone, Quick update as I tend to do after trying the product for a considerable length of time.....Unfortunately I've had to stop using both of these products as they started to break me out in skin congestion. Pampered Wolf hi Gemma, I was wondering if you had tried the Bobbi Brown stick foundation? I am looking to get a stick foundation but can’t decide between bare minerals or Bobbi Brown 🤔
Sarah D Bobbi brown one is really sheer and works better for people with normal to oily skin.

I use the Vanilla stick right now. In the summer it's Cashew and Wheat. The stick lasts long with me but I don't use too much.

Very interesting Gemma. Thanks. Also for all your hard work to bring us interesting and informative videos
I bought the stick foundation for travel trying to bring less liquids. I have combo mature skin skin and love it but it isn’t long lasting. Thanks for the great review.
I have the bareMinerals bareSkin liquid foundation and it too does not last long. 3 hours tops. :-/
That is exactly why I’m checking this one out-traveling with a carry-on for 2 weeks. Any other products you tried that you liked?
I have been trying the bare minerals loose powder foundation. So the stick one is very interesting to see!
Gorgeous make up, i like both but when i saw it outside i prefer the stick. Thank you for video and your time.
Always helpful and thanks for the tip about the application of the original CR. Purchased the stick formula, apr 2 - 3 weeks ago. I’m really liking it... I hadn’t tried the original. Same shade as you Gemma!
Thanks for the info. Very helpful! My stick should be here this week. Can't wait to try it.
Just tried this today for the first time and so far I love it!
The gel is gorgeous the first two hours and then it drys out and fades off. I’m using it in summer for sunscreen only on no make up days to use it up.
I had the same issue.
You know I ALWAYS love foundation videos that you do! Always awesome! I personally need something that is a little more coverage but, I was really impressed at how beautiful the stick looked. Hi Gemma! I have been wanting to try Bare Minerals! Thanks for another great video! 💄💋
Very helpful! I have dry patches, and I’m looking forward to trying both of these!!
Thank your for the review Gemma, can't wait to try the stick. That nail polish tho!! Luv it 💅

Cool nail polish!

Coconut ingredients are known for clogging pores Heidi. They haven't clogged mine yet, but watch this space xxx
Thanks so much Gemma, love your videos💜
Thanks Gemma.
I was hoping that you would do this one!
A really great review! Super informative and straight to the point! THANK YOU! 🥰
Enjoy the kids and the holiday. Happy Easter to you and your family! xxxooo
I'll get my mum to give it a go Pat xxx
Thank you! ❤
Love your nail color! Love your videos
Your skin is gorgeous!
Thanks Gemma for the knowledge on Bare Minerals. I don't know much about there cosmetics. :-)) oxox
Love your videos!! I cannot wait until we get that boots no.7 foundation that you used a couple videos ago💕
Chrissy Moss sounds good to me!!💕
Seen the Revlon Candid in Boots today Chrissey x
@@vivianh9672 DM me @ChristineMoss25 and we can sort it out. Apparently we DO have Revlon Candid here 😮😮. But that's ok. I'm more than happy to help you get the no. 7 foundation. Just realised, no. 7 is sold at Boots and so is the Revlon, well that's an easy shop! ☺☺👍
@@clairebare7 REALLY? Thank you so much Claire, xxx
Awesome breakdown on these foundations. I'm always on the hunt for a hydrating stick foundation. This looks like one I should try. Thank you 💖
Thanks for the video. I always appreciate foundation reviews. Do you have product on your eyes other than mascara? Love the natural look.
No Eileen. Just mascara xxx
Thank you perfect timing.
This is what I’ve been waiting for! Thanks Gemma 🌸
I just ordered this from Sephora and according to tracking, it should be delivered tomorrow. On the hunt for a "holy grail" lighter foundation/tinted moisturizer with a high spf that works well under a light topping of powder foundation. Hoping it works!
Hey Gemma. Thx for the reply. You should try this one. There is no scent, gel -cream texture, hyaluronic acid too. My clients love it,😉
I had the same reaction Britt. Such a shame. I have breakouts all over my chin which I haven't had for months and months xxx
Excellent review, thank you.
I new I remembered seeing this review somewhere..Anyway I absolutely love the Complexion Rescue Gel..It works magnificently on my 65 year old face...Did your Mum try it? Thank you as always..
Yes she did Dawn. She liked it, but like I said, it's hit and miss on application xxx
Another great review Gemma and so informative. Think I will be giving these a miss as I have my favourites that I think perform better 💕 xx
I'm so happy to see this video!! Thanks♡
Thank you I was curious about these!
Love the look of the stick foundation... it’s Easter break for us here in NZ too and I’m the one falling out with my kids 😂😳
Hi Gemma - i'm always curious about what skincare you use as a base?
I am having the same dry patches on my cheeks
I’ve been using the original for a few weeks 🥰 love it I like tinted moisturizers and I am a lighter coverage girl
Would love to see the new revlon candid foundation review xx
Can you do a moisturiser masters! Battle of the best UVA/UVB protection for the face just in time for spring!!? 😊
I'll add it to my list xxx
@@PamperedWolf Thank you. Also I saw a vblogger saying that chemical sunscreens can actually increase hyperpigmentation in the skin. Is this true?
I wonder if you layered the two if it would last longer. It wasnt super long lasting .
I doubt it Marie, however if you add a bare minerals powder over the top it does last longer xxx
@@PamperedWolf ok thanks....
You’re the very best! Luv u soooo much!
Turned 67 a few days ago. Ugh. But you’re helping us all
I'm looking for your review of the new MUFE powder foundation, and stopped off here to watch this again😄☺
I know you mentioned it in an earlier video but what are you using on your lashes. They look sensational!
Revitalash Barbara xxx
Can they been worn on top of a chemical sunscreen?
I’m dying to try the stick one. Is there a type of primer you think it would or wouldn’t work with? Thanks!!
I'm not keen on primers Wendy, but one of the other Pack members might be able to recommend one for you xxx
OMGGGGG!!! Thx for doing this! 😘
Looking forward to trying this...I'm combination type so I just hope it doesnt make me look oily around my nose, forehead and chin!? Hmm 😏🤔
Thank you so much 👌💗
Initially I thought "Yes, we have a winner". But the lasting power is pathetic (say what you mean Chrissy 🤣🤣). A real shame as the stick foundation looked beautiful.
Great review Gemma, honest and informative, ❣💛💛💛❣
Thank you Chrissy. Can you do me a favour Chrissy and DM me on Instagram? I need to chew your ear off about something. xxx
Yes I do Renata xxx
Hey up! I love watching your videos ! Thank you. I just wondered if you’ve tried the L’Oreal pro glow? I just bought some from amazon (about three weeks ago) and it’s amazing in my opinion. I think maybe you’d like it :-)
Keep up the good work
Becks
I haven't, but I have it on good authority that it is VERY similar to the NO7 Hydraluminous which is no1 in my top 7 foundations list xxx
Ty PW x
Thanks Gemma 💐! Hugs and kisses, Sabine 😘
BM just launched a matte version of complexion rescue.
Use a tiny amount mixed in with moisturiser at first and then build up the strength using less and less moisturiser in the mix. xxx
Another awesome review video! How was the transfer on each?
Terrible Betty....definitely not transfer resistant xxx
Artis brushes work phenomenally to blend the stick out.
I liked the stick version very much, but it doesn't last long. In other words, I ran out of it after a very few months.
