I laughed to myself when you guys were talking about the little kids not liking homemade Mac & cheese. My 8 yr old grandson asked what was for supper one night. I told him homemade Mac & cheese. Can goat milk is excellent baby formula as well closest to human milk as you can get besides the real breast milk my daughter had colic and I tried many different formulas for her the pediatrician recommended goat milk she loved it 😍 she’s grown up now!
I bought a can of the goat milk then a live nanny goat and there is NO comparison between the taste of the two…just saying. If you have room for the live variety I highly recommend it as they are easy keepers and are so lovable too! My nanny used to eat the tags out of my shirts while I was milking her as she nuzzled my neck lol.
Last time I bought a can of evaporated milk, I got home and discovered it was empty. When I took it back to the supermarket, the manager looked at me and said "Hey, whaddya expect? The milk's evaporated. It's supposed to be that way."
Your daughter is so interested in growing spices. She needs to explore growing the plants to dehydrate so you can have your own! There are so many! I think it’s smart to pick up things like the cocoa powder from one source when another source is out. Sometimes I’ve found if one place is put, all places could be running out
The trick is if you’re going to put them in the basement don’t watch them just dust off the dirt and put them in the crate and put them in the basement watch them when you use them they won’t rot and you don’t have to let them sit and dry my dad did this for years and he just built a simple wooden crate 2 inches off the ground and put 50 pounds of potatoes in it and they laughed all winter long for a family of eight

Peach crepes sound amazing! During peach harvest, I make peach icecream. For azure, they sell cacao powder which I have in my cart right now. It is a little different than cocoa in how they process but i think it is better. I am hoping it does not go out of stock before my order ships.

Hi ladies, I love you guys! I am a nurse and love, watching you after a long day. Any chance that you would do a video on seasoning a cast iron pan? Mine got rusty and I am so bummed.
Cast iron can be mended to look brand new. Look up videos, seasoning I added oil, garlic, Himalayan salt, sautéed, washed then regreaaed my pan before putting it away and rubbed with garlic and added more salt. I place all my cast iron inside my oven to hold until I’m ready to use.
I reseason my skillets often. Grapeseed oil is what I use. It has a high smoke point, so it has to go in a hot oven until it smokes. The polyunsaturated fats polymerize, forming the nice shiny coating you want. I also had to put on 3 layers because the seasoning was gone. I read about it on a website (man cave or something) and he explained the reasons for the type of oil vs lard or bacon grease vs Crisco, etc.
I LOVE Azure Standard!!! I buy from them almost every month...so there I was living in OR (they are based in OR) but did not learn about them until we moved to TX! I get kinda carried away! We didn't have Aldi's in OR but now we shop there all the time!
Im our area I.have noticed targets good and gather brand butter is cheeper than our aldi so i stocked up a few weeks ago and at that time they did not have a limit...
Our local Aldi stores have a 4 per like item limit. This has made it difficult for the church food pantry people to stock the community church pantry like they have in the past. Previous we could preorder cases. Bow we can get 4 like items, even for the food pantry.
Our Aldi‘s just had butter on sale for $ 2.49 a pound! They did limit you to 6 pounds. Was going to go back in a second time just for butter, but got there too close to closing time, and used up too much of my time looking at ‘Aldi’s finds’ for possible Christmas gifts.😂
Ugh I wish we lived closer to you guys my 16 year old daughter is totally into herbalism And there are just not a lot of girls her age that are into the same things she is! :-) Ps The living traditions ketchup is really good we made it last year but we didn’t thicken it up enough! So I’m going to try again this year! Also your potatoes should last even longer if you don’t wash them first just scrape off the chunks of dirt but don’t wash them before storing in the root cellar.
Yes, was going to suggest not washing the potatoes, also. We dig them up and lay them out on a tarp or cardboard, turning to make sure they’re all dry before storing them. I live in upper Michigan, and we have a lot of humidity, so we have to make sure they’re completely dry before storing.
I have a list of things I buy every week that saves me tons! Milk, eggs, Icelandic yogurt, bread, cheese. Just these items I save at least $15/week. My berries normally save me $5/week. $20 X 52= $1040!!! A year! That is just those few items! I saved $88 on a chair cover!
My mother made all of our bread when I grew up and all I wanted was supermarket bread 🤦♀️ Now I made all of my families bread and well...So I get the box Mac'n cheese! Look forward to the Fried rice! Take care
I can buy 4 lb boxes of salt at Sam's for just a little over $1 each, which would be less than $8 for 25 lbs. Redmond sells their salt for $99 for 25 lbs.
Love the video. If you like Azure, try there dry pinto, kidney and black beans and can them yourself. I don’t even know if it’s less expensive but the quality of their beans is amazing. 😀
Azure offers a brand called once again peanut butter...ingredients is dry roasted peanuts and salt. 9 pound bucket is 39.98 and it's wonderful... also comes in a unsalted. Highly recommend...god bless x
I've been contemplating buying that tub for our family of 5. I just worry about it going bad before we'd finish it. How long would you say it keeps? Do you store it in the fridge or a cabinet?
@@XyZ98768 it lasts my family 3 months. I have never had it go bad. I store the bucket in the basement and I fill a mason jar to keep in my pantry for ease of use. I stir the bucket well everytime I go to refill my jar. Hope this helps..have a blessed day.

Hi :) Just wanted to drop a note about the spices: If you have a Natural Grocers near you, great prices on bulk spices (in bags, not containers, tho) when they can keep it stocked. And I don’t know what part of the country you’re in, but here in the middle of nowhere southern country, we have all kinds of ethnic (Ethiopian, Asian, hispanic) markets and their spices are ~excellent,~ both price and quality. Little hole in the wall places. This was a great video. Hate to say that my “hauls” look similar but I’m not shopping for 8! 👀 Have a lovely day. :)
Even running to our Amish store a lot I’ve gotten a lot of great deals there . But they are raising prices to . But I was still able to find great buys . Love our Amish stores . It’s a hit n miss on great deals anywhere we go these days. GODBLESS you all
Love this! I grew up in small town in Illinois and now live in the mountains of New Mexico. We are an hour and a half from any halfway major city to shop in. I have Sam's and they have free shipping, it helps me out a lot. I will look into Azure now.
My last bottle of ketchup turned out to be expired 1.5 years ago. I use tomatoes and pure tomato sauce or tomato cubes a lot. I will buy a new bottle of ketchup and try to use it more.
Capital video! Looks like tremendous amount of food until, like you said, you have 6 Jesses running around and they eat a pickle jar each! That's only one meal!! ;)
Irish soda bread- yes! Crepes, I need your recipe stat! I'm feeding my sweet tooth monsters. Please and huge thanks in advance. 🌻 Soon we'll be able to plant more than cold crops.
Last week I went over the mountains to go to Bob’s Red Food Mill to stalk up on flour, salt, oatmeal (organic), yeast, lentils, black beans, kidney beans, navy beans and pearl barley. I was so surprised that they only had 10lb bags of flour for one and only one bag of pearl barley left. 3 bags (10 oz) of yeast, so I grabbed all 3 since the guy helping me said they would be restocking in two days. It’s a 4 hr drive there and 4 hrs back. I ended up only spending $167.00 where I normally would have spent around $400. In a normal world I would only have to go twice a year. Now I’m thinking at least 4 times to get what my family uses.
I know it's a bit of a haul for you guys but Woodman's in North Aurora has Annie's mac & cheese pretty regularly; I buy the gluten free stuff for my kids and they're cheaper than anywhere else! Might want to take a bit of a ride!
Sam’s Club is great on prices if you take advantage of the instant savings that they offer monthly. It changes each instant savings book what is on sale but those specific items that are on sale are great prices!

I get kinda carried away! We didn't have Aldi's in OR but now we shop there all the time!
Azure has a great peanut butter. You can also buy peanuts from Azure to make your own peanut butter.
Awesome. I'll check it out. Thank you 😊
Very nice haul. I’ve been shopping Azure Standard for almost 10 years. Well done.💚
❤️❤️❤️
Julianne PLAESE share your bentonite clay recipes!!!!
❤️❤️❤️
I ordered Bentonite clay after listening to a homesteader talk about all of the uses for it.
❤️❤️❤️
Loving your channel! Looking forward to all the things to come !
❤️❤️❤️
Im our area I.have noticed targets good and gather brand butter is cheeper than our aldi so i stocked up a few weeks ago and at that time they did not have a limit...
The good and gather natural peanut butter is good too, and comes in a huge jar.
Yes to the soda bread video!
❤️❤️❤️
Send your daughters back to pick up more butter. 😁. They are limiting butter at our Aldis also.
I probably will 😁😁😁
Our local Aldi stores have a 4 per like item limit.
This has made it difficult for the church food pantry people to stock the community church pantry like they have in the past. Previous we could preorder cases. Bow we can get 4 like items, even for the food pantry.
Our Aldi typically has limit 6 butter , sometimes same limit on eggs and milk and this has been since they opened the store in 2014 in my area.
❤️❤️❤️
Yes, mine in Texas as well...eggs are limit 2 dozen, , milk is limit 4
Our Aldi‘s just had butter on sale for $ 2.49 a pound! They did limit you to 6 pounds. Was going to go back in a second time just for butter, but got there too close to closing time, and used up too much of my time looking at ‘Aldi’s finds’ for possible Christmas gifts.😂
Azure peanut butter in the big 10lb tub is the best!
❤️❤️❤️
Ugh I wish we lived closer to you guys my 16 year old daughter is totally into herbalism And there are just not a lot of girls her age that are into the same things she is! :-)
Ps The living traditions ketchup is really good we made it last year but we didn’t thicken it up enough! So I’m going to try again this year!
Also your potatoes should last even longer if you don’t wash them first just scrape off the chunks of dirt but don’t wash them before storing in the root cellar.
❤️❤️❤️
Take care
❤️❤️❤️
all nuts stay fresh in the freezer for up to 7 years
I can buy 4 lb boxes of salt at Sam's for just a little over $1 each, which would be less than $8 for 25 lbs. Redmond sells their salt for $99 for 25 lbs.
Is redmonds really that much better I wonder. Have heard it was so good ...
Good morning 😃
I believe that GFS is a Christian based organization which is great to shop at 👍🏻
❤️❤️❤️
Beg to differ. People can be Christian but organizations will not spend eternity anywhere.
Love the video. If you like Azure, try there dry pinto, kidney and black beans and can them yourself. I don’t even know if it’s less expensive but the quality of their beans is amazing. 😀
❤️❤️❤️
Once again organic peanut butter comes in large bulk amount as well as Spread the love organic peanut butter
@@smosteen Thank you for replying. I appreciate it.

Just found your vlog ! Loved it, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Could you guys do what you eat in a day type thing? We are trying to eat all homemade stuff as well. But sometimes I lack ideas for each meal, all day long. Thanks so much for all your videos. We are Illinois as well 😉.
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you . Would love to see your recipes.
Great haul. Would have loved to know the prices on each item. I can get to Sam’s Club or Costco in five minutes; closest Aldi is two hours away.
❤️❤️❤️
Another great video, Annie. I have a refillable oil spray bottle that was inexpensive and so handy, plus non aerosol ❤
Hi Lisa! Where did you get the oil spray bottle?
@@anniemcelroy2812 Annie I got mine at Woolworths here in Australia. Equivalent to maybe Walmart in the states. I think Amazon or another online store would stock them though. Mine was around $10 and I've used it almost daily for around 5 years, best thing ever! Plus, you can put whatever oil you like in it. Xx
I just got a refillable oil spray bottle from Amazon.
I'm in Illinois as well!! Never shopped at Aldi....First time will be tomorrow....I'm watching your video for guidance 😊
❤️❤️❤️
Azure Standard has great spices also in 1 lb bags if you save those plastic containers to refill Annie 😊
You can freeze cheese to my husband loves pickles I buy the big jars he goes thur them so quickly
Even running to our Amish store a lot I’ve gotten a lot of great deals there . But they are raising prices to . But I was still able to find great buys . Love our Amish stores . It’s a hit n miss on great deals anywhere we go these days. GODBLESS you all
I get the organic peanut butter, it only has peanuts and sea salt.
I forgot to say that I got it at Aldis.
Love this! I grew up in small town in Illinois and now live in the mountains of New Mexico. We are an hour and a half from any halfway major city to shop in. I have Sam's and they have free shipping, it helps me out a lot. I will look into Azure now.
We love Redmond’s Real salt!! It is great!
❤️❤️❤️
Love love this video enjoy all your videos yes would love to see Irish soda bread video
❤️❤️❤️
Dehydrate nuts n can or bag..blend nuts for milk and freeze dry the pulp for powder😊 you have the right idea get it now prices go up everyday! Thx
❤️❤️❤️
Do you have to stir it up each time
@firegirl441..hi.im unsure if you're asking me? But stirring nuts powder etc. Isn't necessary. I always mush around to make sure everything is dry😊
My last bottle of ketchup turned out to be expired 1.5 years ago. I use tomatoes and pure tomato sauce or tomato cubes a lot. I will buy a new bottle of ketchup and try to use it more.
I would love to see your Irish bread recipe.
❤️❤️❤️
Capital video! Looks like tremendous amount of food until, like you said, you have 6 Jesses running around and they eat a pickle jar each! That's only one meal!! ;)
Yes!!! 😁
i love you and your family.
Irish soda bread- yes! Crepes, I need your recipe stat! I'm feeding my sweet tooth monsters. Please and huge thanks in advance. 🌻 Soon we'll be able to plant more than cold crops.
Food saver bags for nuts or

YES, IRISH SODA BREAD PLEASE!!!ALONG WITH THE RECIPE TOO PLEASE!!!
So cool! You're in Plano, I had no idea your farm was there. I grew up in Plano and live in Sandwich now.
Juliann, please share how you make your hair and skin care products! You are beautiful and your hair is super gorgeous!
I know it's a bit of a haul for you guys but Woodman's in North Aurora has Annie's mac & cheese pretty regularly; I buy the gluten free stuff for my kids and they're cheaper than anywhere else! Might want to take a bit of a ride!
Black beans, corn and salsa makes a great chip dip
garden answer puts a burlap lining in their crates of seed potatoes.can nuts be air vacuumed sealed for long term storage?
❤️❤️❤️
Heidi at Rain country vacuum seals just about everything. So yes you can vacuum seal nuts for long term and they stay nice and fresh.
Sam’s Club is great on prices if you take advantage of the instant savings that they offer monthly. It changes each instant savings book what is on sale but those specific items that are on sale are great prices!
