Uhhhh... if you think you can play like Thundercat, please feel free to add some "dirty bass" here. This guy is playing it straight like most bassists do. He's in the pocket, he's supporting the band, he's doing what he needs to do. He's a good player. You are not going to hear many others playing like Thundercat. That's why Thundercat is where he is (along with his voice and songwriting skills). BTW, this bassist is using a 4-string short scale Fender Mustang bass. Not a "lead bass" by any means and probably about the last choice for bassists who do alot of chords and arpeggios like Thundercat.
Her label did her dirty...they moved her to NJ because they could get past the child labor laws and never paid anyone working with her on her albums. They owned her..5 years and a lawsuit against them. She re-recorded her 1st album so those people could get paid for their work. The label was already going under.
She's very much yesterday's hero. Her last album was a total flop. It debuted at #6 and then dropped to #111 in it's second week. She's very talented but she wishes to be doing as well as Thundercat. He's on the way up and she's very much on the way down.
She's got such incredible vocal control, and a really light touch for picking up on the energy of a track. I wish her a huge resurgence sometime in the near future. What a legend.
it's a hard song cause the tempo is always the same and the sound of the verses sound alike, it's pretty damn hard to remember the lines, I say this cause I'm trying to learn the song myself for a class (I'm not allowed to read the lyrics) and damn, I get confused very easy. But I'm doing my best

It's not at all like the original. Lost it's atmosphere. That being said, it didn't sound bad. Just more pop, vocals oriented, rather than groove oriented. I bet there are plenty of people that love it, but for me it takes everything about why I like Thundercat away.
