  • Bishop Ulmer shares his heart regarding the response of the church to incidents like the one in Minneapolis centered around the murder of George Floyd. He teaches about the importance of unity in the body of Christ and how when one part of the body hurts, the entire body hurts.

      Yaa their Silence speaks volumes.... It's a Shame to the Body of Christ.... But I am not surprised because the main reason we have Southern Baptist Convention and North Baptist Convention just because the White evangelical in the Southern States wanted to keep black people as Slaves yet the Northern white Evangelical were against Slavery of black people.

    • @singerlenaandersson1868
      @singerlenaandersson1868 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're talking about recent racial injustice. ONE BAD Cop and you base your whole view of this country on that! And btw, teach young black men to NOT resist arrest. It's so hypocritical and it will never change till you people change your outlook. I wrote a comment here before. Guess I was censured. Didn't quite fit the narrative here. You are the one's that create division while white people bend over backwards to please you. There's a racial spirit here in the US and it's working on everybody if you don't resist it. We don't have it in Europe like you do here. Pray against it and preach against it. We for example have mixed churches, not segregated like you do here. I think that no preacher should preach racism but preach the message of the Bible which says that we're all ONE in Christ. I think this racist spirit is just like the gay spirit. It's hungry and it can never have enough, it's never satisfied. Am I upset? Yes, I am. I'm very disappointed with a lot of the black people in America. Always accusing me as a white person for not doing enough. I'm just living my life like everybody else. Stop treating us like we're some kind of masters. It's exhausting! We'll see if this gets censured too. I love black conservatives. They understand how this world works and they see opportunity where liberals and leftists see entitlement. It's sad...and I'm sure you will call me a Karen now cause it's okay for you to be racist. Maybe because you don't believe you're equal..

    Bar none, this is probably the most powerful, direct, truth-filled, "I'm talkin' to you" messages that I've heard anyone with the years in ministry that the Bishop has! He is well-respected internationally, excellent at teaching and preaching God's word with conviction and clarity, and not concerned about what people may think or say about it. Bishop Ulmer truly wants to get the attention of those who don't look like him, call him their friend, but don't share his passion for equality and justice! THank you so much for this Bishop!! May God continue to use you to speak to millions from the pulpit, and through this vehicle called technology!!!

    I am a white evangelical and what you said bishop made me weep. Truly it did! I have no words to say except that "I hear your pain" and that of my African-American brothers and sisters in Christ. The big "C" church does need you and your voice. I am sorry that your pain, and that of so many, has largely been dismissed by many in my white evangelical community. I pray that the Spirit will help us find a way to be the body of Christ together - "in all its rich colors and hues" here now. And I think that really requires people like me being willing to enter into the grief, anger and pain that so many of you have experienced. I don't fully know what that looks like but your message was a message my heart heard deeply and I believe the Spirit will use it in a powerful way. Thank you

      @@staceyhennings8820 Thank you Stacy for your call to speak and act. I have been speaking a lot to my family and my white friends about the need for us to listen, to learn, and to act for justice and reconciliation. To be honest, I believe God is giving me the courage and growing my knowledge to speak against those who want to dismiss or downplay racism, discrimination, and institutionalized inequality. I am challenging them to stop listening to blogs, talk radio, or social media and meet with an African American person and let them tell their story. They, as I, need to be intentional to have real conversations, even if they make us feel uncomfortable. I am challenging them, as I am challenging myself, that we can't "weep with those who weep" unless we are willing to listen to their stories, your story, and be impacted by them. I, we (white Christians) have a long way to go. I am learning. Pray that this will sink in to all who name Jesus as Lord. Thank you for listening

    Bishop, it warms my ❤ that you are speaking out. This is an answered prayer because I have been praying that the eyes of our leaders would open to the truth. I have been in the faith for over 30 years...ministering, teaching and doing what I could to be faithful. But the rash of police shootings in 2016 forced me to fall on my knees and ask why did these things keep happening to us and how could the church be silent. Thankfully, Bishop the Holy Spirit removed the blinders. I now see why the Church has been silent. I now know why we still have segregated Sundays. Bishop, I know this hurts because it hurt me too. But the truth is that those who are truly filled with the Spirit can't look away or be silent when they witness injustice. Our true brothers and sisters didn't need this event to speak out and work for justice. They were already doing it because they chose not to look away. The Quakers were a great example of that. They didn't just say that they opposed racial injustice, they did something. They risked everything because they understood what true righteousness meant. I'm sorry for the pain in your heart right now, but know that you had to get to this place. Our Father is separating the wheat from the tares. Those who truly belong to Him do what is right and say what is right because it IS right.

They can attend church seven days a week and it still won't save them. Without repentance and a true change of heart, they'll be right there in hell with all of the wicked and the unrighteous. In each of these movements, a loud cry of righteousness and justice was heard from pulpits that lead to action and overcame the voices from other pulpits that desired to remain unjust and keep people oppressed.

      @Christy Phillips well it's true. Many people seem to not understand the difference between being racist and prejudice. Systemic power and control describes racists. Prejudice is simply dislike it hatred, but no power to control someone's life.

    I have been consuming a lot of online teaching & preaching these days and happy to see a "few" white Christian leaders speaking out : Bethel church is one; my Lutheran pastor was very blunt with his nearly all-white community last Sunday , June 7, 2020 (moochurch.org); Bishop TD Jakes had a zoom panel with a few white leaders. It remains to be seen if it will be sustained. I am a white woman who was young during the late 60's protest and I feel this year we are revisiting that pain with a new generation who are energized for justice. That includes the young church too. I myself left white evangelical churches for 23 years & only in the last 5 years came back with a shaky heart and nervous expectation. It pains me that I live in a. white-dominated suburb but I strive to be part of a multiethnic group of friends & was part of events at school to teach kids awareness & to value all people. But I can't lie, I did not even know there was a black church just 5 miles away from me. Happy that my church has Grace-filled pastors, but we are white as can be. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we can use this momentum to cry and hug each other; then go out and walk with the protesters. Since this May 31 upload, the momentum has increased. Today is June 9, 2020. We just might be finally getting it as white folks and white christians. Let's pray we get this right so they will know who we are by our love for one another; which includes speaking out. Glad I saw this message! God IS Love. Love our neighbors as we love ourselves. 🙏👍😇

      God bless you, dear sister. I also watched the Bishop Jakes zoom call and it was really encouraging. In the last couple of weeks, I have seen TH-cam posts of several white pastors/leaders having open dialogue with their black brothers, trying to understand the underlying issues of systemic racism etc. and genuinely listening and wanting to care and be part of the change and healing. A big part of the problem is that many white people don't actually know the history that underlies many of the issues, through no fault of their own. Check out some of Tony Evans or Bryan Stevensons TH-cam posts. God is raising up white people with genuine hearts, like you, to care and share. I am in the UK watching all of this play out and praying that the Lord will bring about true unity and love within the body of Christ. Blessings

      Christine S - Thank you for your prayers. A couple of years ago, our very awesome worship leader at that time, was inviting several black gospel singers. I have been listening to gospel music more, and am so moved by the worship. Well I have had a lingering feeling that the black churches will lead us on to revival. That feeling was before BLM became more prevalent. I can't explain it; I think there's just more depth where there has been suffering.

    This was BOLD. BREATHTAKING. NEEDED and NECESSARY. The best I've heard yet.
    Also, Trevor Noah gave a commentary using the analogy of a "contract" between we as citizens and the United States and we, Black Americans hold up our end of the contract yet "others" do not. What consequences/repercussions does one think they will receive when they CONTINUOUSLY violate this contract?
    I'm sure I'm not getting it all correct but Google it and view that as well when you can. But this.right.here.was.IS.Truth!

    • @joangloverstraughter5638
      @joangloverstraughter5638 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well my sister nothing escapes God so since they can not honor their contract Hell will be waiting for all those who do not honor it. The word of God says If You Know What is Right and See Someone Doing Wrong and You do not do anything about it you will be held accountable with the ones who are doing the wrong! So consequences do come even if we do not see it for those who refuse to do right by God's people!!

    You're right Bishop Ulmer; some people say they don't know the pain we go through being black people, I get that but for over 400 years we've been mistreated as if we don't matter until it benefits them and their cause. People say they don't know what to say when a person has lost a family member; I don't know what to say myself but I need to acknowledge the pain they go thru and to see what I can do to help ease the pain!
    This saying has been out for a while now: "IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING". SAY SOMETHING WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE TREAT ANOTHER PERSON AS IF THEY DON'T MATTER. CHURCH YOU DON'T LOOK LIKE THE CHRIST YOU SAY YOU SERVE!! THAT IS VERY SAD; GOD HAS OPENED YOUR EYES, BECAUSE THE CHURCH IS THE REASON PEOPLE DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD BECAUSE WE'RE NOT LIVING LIFE ACCORDING TO HIS WILL IN OUR LIVES.

      Quit watching CNN ..quit watching the news period . Don't write amerkkka.. it's not true. White and blacks are the same .. more than you know. In my city Columbus Ohio black and white people love each other .. but yes relations could be better . America is the best country in the world ..we are stopping the anti christ from taking over. I've been watching pastor chris from Africa and he loves America and says America will have revival ...They pray everyday for it. He puts on a program the name of it is chronicles of prophecy amazing powerful woman and men of God prophecying and talking about what pastor Chris says every week. 100s of thousand of white evangelicals behind the scene not on tv so much, have been screaming help to the black people in Chicago and crying out to stop abortion everyday. ..we don't do it on one instance but constantly. I've cried out to God many times why.. I'm going to put it straight here .. this is going to hurt .. but when you vote for your own demise... for abortion, you also reap. That's not being mean I'm saying this with love . God says pray for your leaders don't curse them . Do you . He's not talking just about church leaders he's talking about leaders in change of your nation . We've all got to try and have discourse and hear each other no matter how hard it is to hear. My pastor is black and my overseer is black .. I've never respected a man more than I do my overseer .. He's truly a true apostle and he loves my husband and me with all his heart, I feel his heart , I honor him. Help me with love tell me where I'm wrong I'm asking you said we don't listen tell me where I'm wrong? .. please . Even if it hurts.

    This was excellent and actually soothed my irritation. I was beginning to feel like "Am i wrong for my anger? Being tired of them? Not trusting them?" If they mention protection for police I mention JUSTICE and protection for their victims. I see now everyone is on the same page. Really just realizing they are not right. It's not us.
    That being said, there are alot more white evangelicals speaking out now than I've ever seen: Chuck Pierce, Cindy Jacobs, Jennifer Leclaire, Rod Parsley, Ryan LeStrange are the ones I've seen. It's not alot but it's a start.
    And folks if you are calling yourself children of God you're going to have to get over your hatred towards Trump. He hasn't done anything more to us than anyone else and Obama had the chance to fix ALL this in the police department but didnt bother.
    There is no way we can vote for Democrats and say that's Gods will. That means to support perversion on HIGH levels and killing BLACK babies. I simply won't. I believe you will be held accountable voting for those policies.

    What gut wrenching truth from an esteemed general .... I'd love to see a national, diverse panel assembled across denominational lines by those who would be transparent on this matter. Barriers are being broken & some walls are coming down but they are so scattered & still without unified leadership. The net has to be tightened to shoulder this pain that needs to be strategically addressed in the public forum by any person who would call themselves a leader in the body of Christ today. May God usher in the real revival necessary to ultimately join our fractured members as one - whole body that looks like "The picture." Thank you Bishop Ulmer for putting such clarity to an unspoken & collective pain that has been way down in the soul of God's church for far too long. God's kingdom come .... Father's Favor.

      As a person of color, I would find it difficult to attend a majority white church if it's congregants didn't show signs of support or remains silent to the unjust struggles of people of color here on the U.S. It is frustrating because they certainly had something to say about us taking a knee against the national anthem. Even though that got turned into we were protesting the flag. It wasn't about the flag but the racist lyrics of the song.

      Kalisito fatima You’re absolutely correct. The world’s hatred of African Americans and other black people is because we’re the True Hebrews, the Yahudi the scriptures speak of. We failed to follow the laws, statues, and commandments given to us by our Elohim and we as well as our ancestors have paid a great price. The scriptures say we would be hated and called a byword. The hate that we’ve experienced throughout history is an ancient spiritual satanic hate that’s still in the earth today. The hatred and spirit of slavery still lives on in the descents of the slave owners children to this very day which is why we see things like the racial attacks of white women upon black people who are simply trying to live their lives and minding their own business.
