Some bands I would highly recommend are "Indigo La End" and "ART-SCHOOL".
If you're into shoegazing/dream-pop then check out "Kinoko Teikoku". They're pretty amazing.

listening to this band when you are depressed is so fucking different than when youre not. Idk how to explain it. But I'd relate it to watering plants when they are first planted, compared to when they are first starting to grow and bloom. At first I was just excited and didn't know what to expect, but now that I've seen the beauty of it, it's not more of a chore to me to water them every day, it just feels... right. I'm going through such a hard time in my life right now, but listening to them just feels... right.

This song and video are otherworldly in ways I simply cannot describe. I know they got famous for the first album but I truly think this album is a _complete masterpiece_ spawned after an extra 16 years of talent and raw emotion.

Been listening to this non-stop since it first came out. This is more Owen than the original American Football, but I'm definitely not mad. There's enough different about it and enough similar to create something new that isn't too far from it's roots. Fantastic song and album.

The time american football had to perfect their individual sounds during their split could possibly be the best thing ever. The production of this is possibly their magnum opus. Now steve lamos is back I cant wait to see what’s to come from them

I love this Band! I had the pleasure of seeing them perform this album in Philadelphia right before the pandemic hit in 2018. I had front row seats with a very Good friend who introduced their music to me . Mike Kinsella ( lead) likes to take walks right before the performance and walked right by us in line. we said hey! and he spoke. they are so down to earth. love this band so much. one of favorite songs of all time.

That polyrhythm at 3:00 was so unexpected
it's just so beautiful every time
I love it. It's also so simple compared to how impactful it is, just the drums playing 2 bars of 3/4 in the space of the guitar's 4/4 bar. It really is genius to me, prime example of proper use of complexity. So many polyrythms way more complex than this don't carry nearly as much meaning to the overall experience.

thems polyrythms on the second half have me fuckin banging my head against a desk while creaming my pants and crying at the song at the same time
actually thinkin bout it i'm not sure if it's a polyrythm, you can definitely count the guitar riff as a 3/4 along with the drums and bass, but when it starts by itself it's 100% not how I felt the tempo/time signature, which is why it almost feels like a polyrythm and the subversion of expectations gives it an amazing effect

Connor Hauck Yes it's a different album, it obviously sounds different. To all the haters, this album is great. It sounds like American Football. I have no clue as to why anyone would think Mike's vocals sound "country". Christ on a crutch! Enjoy it. We're lucky to have them back.
Todd Michael Johnson I think that's "the haters" point. is that it doesn't sound like American Football. LP 1 had out of the ordinary musical cues and seemingly mathematically crafted tempos and fluid rhythm. LP 1 knew what it was. in multiple instances songs would just play out into repetition and ambience. it didn't need vocals because the emotion was brought through with the instrumentation. LP 2 however is drowned in this country-folk whiney hum which is more Owen than it is American football. throughout the entirety of this album there isn't any chance to let the songs play out, and for these songs to just breathe. not to mention the band openely admitting the only reason they came back was for a monetary benefit they could not turn down. If this album came out under any other name, nobody would have heard it, and nobody would care.
