How to Make a Wizards Orrery

This is a tutorial on how to make a Wizard's Orrery. An Orrery is a mechanical device that shows the motion of celestial objects. The one we make shows the motion of the Sun, the Earth around the Sun, and the Moon around the Earth which is also called a tellurion. You turn the knob and everything spins.
You don't need a lot of supplies to make this project. Just one sheet of foamboard, thirteen inches of ¼ inch wooden dowel, some glue and some paint. You can of course improvise a lot of these materials. You should have a sharp knife to do this project. An x-acto knife is preferable. This is so you can cut the gears very neatly.

That's pretty amazing how that contraption goes together. Definitely worthy to add to the wizard table. I like how it just uses foam board, wooden dowels and some hot glue to assemble. Currently, I am building a wizard's keep.

Now, in this video, instead of your usual step-by-step process, you would do the following. Teach us how you do everything: From the template, to crafting the foam and to painting it, the best paints, LED lighting, etc. I kinda have an idea of how you do this things but I would like to see you talking with us and letting us know the work involved in each piece of art...

have you ever thought of making mechanical stuff (aka clocks, moving parts ect.) out of a tougher material like plywood? you might be able to give it a better finish then on foamboard. I've been subbed for awhile and I can tell you put a lot of work and time with your projects. this is just a suggestion.

I don't mean to bother you, but the rubric for my school project says I need to label the seasons, and I'm not sure where they would be labeled. The seasons seem inconsistent; there's no specific spot? I don't know. If anyone has some tips or an example, I would be grateful. Thanks!

Can u get the measurements
your work is always fantastic. There have always been two things that bother me though. The first is your hot glue usage. hot glue is fantastic stuff! You just make it very messy and I think it takes away from the over all build. I think you should try to make cleaner connections or try other glues such as elmers, superglue, ect. The second is the lack of audio editing. When you correct yourself in the video it makes you look slightly incompetent. If you did a cut when you mess up and re record a section your over all video quality would be better.

The example on the left demonstrates how time begins to slip and looses synchronization once it begins to revolve around the sun.
The earth is stretched out up is simply up and down will never be up. Curves can’t live without level and level can’t live without curves. The earth is the center and doesn’t move the sun moves.
So these examples are nothing but a failure.
