I love the Archic line; it’s cute and beautiful! I especially like how Blissiken keeps the slight strangeness of Blaziken.
Zinc can actually be made to mimic gold when coated onto copper and heated up. Much how Zincko tricks Pokémon into thinking it is made of grass it could also trick Pokémon into thinking it is made of gold.
A fairy piplup line would be amazing

Okay but Blissiken being a protecter of the sky... and Archic always screaming about the sky falling... I can already imagine a Blissiken swooping in to help the Archic with complete faith the little guy is telling the truth that the sky is falling and ready to help, only to fix the fallen feather and everything go back to normal.
I love that you can see the Digimon influence in Blissiken, I love the DnD reference too!! Definitely my favorite omg

I love that they all have new names. They are still regional forms but giving them their own names does a lot. Alolan Sandshrew and Sandslash really need that. Maybe just Snowshrew and Snowslash?

I think rather than regional forms they could be a Sinistea/Sinistcha situation where they are closely related species but not the same
@@redjirachi1 They are supposed to be convergent forms. They are not related like regional forms. I'm just suggesting that regional forms get a small change, getting a name, but only the ones whose names don't make sense like Sandslash and Sandshrew. Alolan Vulpix and Ninetails don't need new names because the names still fit.
@@elmsigreen I think they are too closely related in concept to be convergents. Toedscool is a completely different kingdom of life and Wiglett is a fish. Sinistacha is just another type of tea
Would love to see dark, psychic, and fighting starters sometime too! These came out amazing though I'm actually having a hard time picking one because they're all great 😂

Cobaltile looks so good in design, I would love if that was the regional variant of the Treecko line.
I love the way you deisgn middle stages! Theyre always so awkward in the games, but you make em look so graceful and cool!and the fact that this time, the new designs FEEL like different pokemon rather than regional forms of the originals!

This gives me an idea for a game that has the traditional starter types at the beginning of the game, but later in the game you get a convergent evolution that follows the videos propsed typings rather giving you a starter from a past game. This happens in X and Y where you get to choose both a Kalos starter and later a Kanto starter.
I love this series.

@@PewterCityJim Why not start at the top and work your way down. I could give you some ideas. Like making a Litten into a Kidten, or a Owlet into a Dowelt, maybe a Sobble into a Joyle? Or you can skip Sooble if your not a Sobble person.
The Hoenn trio are my favourites...I'm surprised that I like your version's maybe even more than the originals

The imaginative chops flexed in the design of Blissiken is something to behold! I wish that were a real regional variant of Blaziken now. That design has so much character.
this is perfect, hoenn was already my favorite starter trio, and I think you did an absolutely incredible job at changing them up. (I always wanted to see mudkip as a dragon type too)
A reference to my favorite song of all time (creep) in a PragMagik video was nit something I expected, but it really made my day
You know what would be a cool concept for an attack? An attack with multiple Hits, each differing in type and therefore effectiveness with lets say 25 base power like pin missile and rock blast. Could be a nice signature move for a legendary or mythical with an even stat distribution like mew or arceus
These are awesome. It's hard to not just nail the artstyle of "official" pokemon, but it's even harder to nail the "feel" of them, somehow you guys did both! amazing work. My only critique would be that the Sceptile and Swampert designs differ from the original look maybe a tad too much? They feel diverging evolutions more than just different variants, but that's super subjective anyway! awesome stuff!
Once again, mudkip's line is my favorite. These are amazing reworks and designs !

a cool signature move for cobaltile:
Scissors dance: Increases attack by two stages and speed by one stage, but has a 10% chance to fail and instead deal some damage to the pokemon using the move, similar to confusion self damage
every choice is so well argued, loved every concept!
Given the fact that for Blissiken and Swampent had some dnd references to it, you can ALSO say that the overall theme relates to DnD since there are devils and fiends in DnD as well
Ghost chimchar could be interesting for when you do gen 4 starters

Ooooh, Torchic is one of the few times I've strayed from the Grass starters thanks to Blaziken, and that loyalty carries over with Blissiken.

I love the Hoen trio, and I'm safe do say that this trio is not just as great, but also even greater than the original! All starters and evolutions are a real BLAST! Treecko is my favorite, so when I saw Zincko, Silvyle and Cobaltile, I had no doubt it would be my favorite even here, but DAMN I WAS WRONG! I loved ALL OF THEM! Even as a big Poison-type lover, choose one of them is hard! I need these in a game ASAP 😭😭😭

Gods, I love Cobaltile! Its' colours and concept remind me a little of Glavenus/Hellblade from Monster Hunter, which also has some demonic elements with its' design - namely the horns - as well as a sword-shaped tail that it hones and sets ablaze in its' fangs and fiery breath to maximise damage when attacking with it; I like to imagine Cobaltile could do something similar, perhaps by using Fire Fang while sharpening and heating up the razor-like claws with its' teeth before engaging in a battle, making its' ensuing blows all the more devastating!
Trust me, many actual pokemon barely fit into those starter theories as it is, so I wouldn’t worry.
This probably wasn't intentional but im gonna say it anyways. Yall know how the Hoenn Legendarys are represented of the sea, ground, and the air. Same goes with the starters he made. Let me explain. Cobaltile is represented of hell normally thought to be below us under the ground. Blissiken keeps the sky from falling and is represented of heaven. The weakest link in this, swampent is seen is swaps and lindkip spend most of there time in the water.
When I was a kid from this trio I'd pick Treeko no questions asked. As an adult I've been inclined to pick Mudkip but I still like Treeko and I think I'd still pick Treeko over Mudkip.
With these designs I'm again conflicted about if picking Zincko or Lindkip. All three evolution lines look phenomenal btw. But here I find it a little bit easier to pick the Zincko line.
The weapon and hellish theme is too tempting for me to pass on. And Zincko's evolutions look hella badass. Plus love the typing.

I honestly think so long as you use the original typing on a different starter(ie how you used fire on the Treeko line rather than the Torchic line) then it still works and gives us something new.❤

Designs are neat. Mudkip line is too strong typewise, not weak to either of the others and giving corrosive overcomes the steel type being immune to it.

Blaziken's my favorite out of the Hoenn starter trio, and I'm a huge fan of Axew's evolution line for the reason it starts off plain adorable and ends up looking badass AND adorable, like how you made Lindkip evolve
Funny you mention MMPR White for the Blissiken. Considering the original Sentai team was called Gosei Sentai Dairanger; HEAVENLY Sentai Dairanger. Dont know if the artist did that intentionally, probably not, but its really nice you made that connection off appearance alone when theres that unintentional extra connection.
If I chose these starters, I got some nicknames I'd go with.
Cobaltile: Belial (one of the demons in the Ars Goetia)
Blissiken: Gabriel (one of the archangels)
Swampent: Ogopogo (a Canadian sea serpent)
Would a dual Fairy/Flying move be better than either individually? I know that Flying Press is mostly less useful than just using a Fighting or Flying move since the combined effectiveness doesn't lend itself well at times.

You're onto something more than you think with Cobaltile's name and typing - cobalt's name comes from the German "kobold", which, far from its D&D interpretation, is a meddlesome type of imp that can appear as a flame!
When we get to Sinnoh I would love to see Chimchar as a dark type based on Six Eared Macaque
I really liked torchics evolution line, it gave me a nostalgic callback to angewomon from digimon, and how she went from a cat to this ethereal being, that no one expected.
The Swampert thing also looks to be a Pakhangba, which is a dragon in Indian Folklore.
I bring this up because PragMagik had the Devhar region.
This is actually a good idea to expand on the concept of Sinistcha. Unlike the convergent forms Sinistea and Sinistcha are clearly in the same genus, for lack of a better word. So these starters could act as close relatives of the regular versions
The Hoenn lines with different types was so good love the concept now I can’t wait for the Sinnoh starters

The treecko line was already my fav starter line/ sceptile being my fav pokemon and the variants are an eye opener on how they can be different and still amazing. Would have made treeko steel flying imo as it's leaf blades would have made for a great excuse for propulsion and lift in air.

Cobaltile signature move would be scissor dance. A 90 base power move thst doubles if the user isnt holding an item like acrobatics but stronger and a steel type move with 100 accuracy and scorching tail its tail moves turns into a fire type move and deals 50% more damage. And for blissikin a new ability called celestial guardian halves the opponents damage and makes its teammates also immune to statuses ghost type and dark type for swampent a new ability called noxious odor can hit steel types for effective damage and can poison steel and poison and deals 30% more damage to its poison moves and a higher chance to poison
Pokemon please hire these artists.
