    his clean technique is immaculate, the bar levitates for a split second as he's ducking underneath it. its like he pauses the time and repositions himself.

    I love his style one the platform:
    he doesn't fuck around, he just walks up to the bar and unleashes the beast!

    beautiful, just missed him in London, wanted to go to 94 bad, but could not get tickets. Went to the 105 and the winner totalled 6 kgs less than Ilya, his WR was just crazy!

    You should remake this video to include footage from London, and also from the training videos where he hits 192.5/230 and 196/240.
    That would make for one hell of a pump-up video!

    yeah it's pretty cool. no doubt he has the potential to go for top honors in that class too, given that his 233 at london was 5kg off bedzhanyan's WR and the man looked extremely comfortable doing it.

  • @VastChoirs

    He's so fucking good at this sport... if he lifted back in the 80s/90s when doping control was relatively less stringent he totally would have beaten Naim's sinclair score of 500.

  • @VastChoirs
    @VastChoirs 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    uh.. no. I'm on a sinclair score calculator right now and his recent total at the olympics gives him a 476 sinclair score to Naim's 500. 200/240 would definitely have been possible for an athlete like him if he'd existed in the mid 80s.

    Do you know what sinclair formulas are? To beat Naim's Ilya would have to snatch over 220 and clean and jerk over 290. Not even close.

    hree time world champion two time olympic champion! He made three world records at three different categories.
    First record he made at only 17 years just best just titan!
    All Kazakhstan knows that you earned all your medals with your own power. He passed all doping tests before olympic and all was clean after eight years they found doping really? It s not doping its just politics! If he competed to rio
    He easily would get gold so they dont want that! Iliya you are the real champ you are the living legend

      @@maxaffe3195 You are the stupid mate. How can be possible he's got caught 8 yrs later? Do you really know, about the world of the weightlifting? They all "cheats" on drugs. If the people who's behind of all those garbages politics really want to "clean" the weightlifting, they have to erase the whole history of this sport and that is a complete bullshit and nonsense.

    Amazing athlete. These oly lifters are some of the strongest men in the world. No steroids or HGH. Just tons of training and hard work. You will see people who no nothing of the sport commenting that oly lifters take steroids, HGH. But they are just stupid or frustrated lifters who never made it into the pros.

    • @vibra64
      @vibra64 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mmack9 Yes I agree. They ARE superhuman. Don't you have faith in the human body. That if it is trained every day to lift enormous weights that you will be able to do so? By your logic then NFL players, baseball players such as A ROID and Bobby bonds for example, would not be able to do what they do? They are all juiced up.

    • @AfferbeckBeats
      @AfferbeckBeats 11 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Unfortunately, drugs are quite prevalent in weightlifting. Maybe not to the degree of other sports like cycling, but there is still quite a lot. For example just look at the list of Kazakhstan lifters alone banned in 2013
      www.iwf.net/anti-doping/sanctioned-athletes/
      One thing about drugs though, is everyone likes to go on and on about them like it's the only thing that separates top lifters from others, when there are tons of other factors. Some nations have vastly superior training environments and support systems, such as China, whereas others, the lifters make their way almost entirely on their own like USA, Australia etc. All the drugs in the world won't do much to help if you're still working a 9-5 job and trying to find time to train, vs a professional lifter who is paid to do nothing but train and recover.

    • @sw8053
      @sw8053 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think humans can achieve the numbers they are reaching maybe. But you are clearly not apart of the weighlifting community because the overseas drug screening program is joke. USADA shows up to your house, gym, anywhere they can catch you. Do you really think that it is a coincidence that USA never does well in the weighlifting category? Also, danehb89 is right, weightlifting overseas is like the NFL here. Those athletes get paid and get funded by their government to train year around. Weightlifters in the US have to train and work. Crossfit has done great things for weighlifting hopefully now there will be more gyms that train weightlifters so we can start them out at age 14.
