Some people may not understand, but saving and giving life to a tool like that, is more than just salvation....it's a beautiful work of art as well. That hammer can continue to be useful for another 100 years. I could only imagine if that was someone's granddad or even a great granddads hammer and being sentimental to someone.
Nice job, great video - I'm curious as to why this hammer does not have slots cut into its tail to remove nails, is it a specialized hammer for something? - anyone?
You have lots of fun projects in that rust pile. But, why not just soak the hammer in vinegar, and then use a spinning steelbrush with an anglegrinder... Removes rust super easy. Nice hammer in the end. =)
I have done a few. I have some Plumb hammers and a lathing hatchet that I have done. the pits and the many angles of the tool are the problem. plus .. I do not want to get rid of the markings. after rust removal I might use a dremel to get into the tight spots and a buffing wheel and compound for the rest. A sisal wheel and black compound generally will get enough of a finish to not be overly polished but smooth. I can stay away from any engraving or markings. Bluing looks good but maybe the pimp in my comes out and I nickel plate most of the time lol
WONDERFUL, I have no words, always super perfect and unique precise product, wonderful work and video, well done and good luck, respect from old BG. p.s. It is a great pleasure for me to see that there are such precise people in the world, and that of the White race!!!
t is unclear why ? for the sake of authenticity, so modern materials and tools in restoration that would be used in work work + materials are more expensive than new, it remains only for the entertainment of not very educated people (I apologize for spelling I write through an online translator)

Thank you! History lives in objects
I love the attention to detail. No imperfections considering the poor condition.
Now it looks like another 75 years of life for this hammer... and thanks for the glimpse of projects to come.
Super job. Love the lines of the hammer head.
Very good filming. Is not a restoration, it is a resurrection.
OOOOOOOO how I would live to get ONE item out of your pile to work with. Lucky you.
It was a great card, brother, especially during the polishing process

This is the type of hammer you need to hang up expensive art... LOL. Great job man..

Good ii boss 👍👍😊😍

Is that a cobbler's hammer?
yes
Pretty very pretty
thanks!
Elektrolize należało tu zrobić i go pużniej pospawać proszę to następnym razem zrobić 🤔 pozdrawiam twórcę tego filmiku serdecznie 👍👍👍👍👍
it was going ok right up to the point where you glued the handle on ,,, and beat a spike into it ,,, tragic.
Excellent job on the head average to bad job on the handle (no shape).
I have the same vise you shown at 0:13. Restore them nexts.

the anvil on the hammer lost its hardness... but good resto
Nice
Like new❤
It's not a restoration if it never looked like that in the first place.
You've created a new tool with a part salvaged from another, similar tool.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
WAY TOO MANY ADS for such a short restoration video
👍👍👍👏👏🙏🙏👍
but isn't it necessary to harden the face of the hammer?
Of course not. This is a hammer
Try restored all that rusted to be nicely one.....

Is that an old shoe hammer?
yes
Hammers are useful if you have many nails
😃😃💪💪👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏🙋🙋
