    The 5 looks amazing from all angles, especially from the back with that offset logo. Very cyberpunk. The yellow color is just breathtaking. Definitely would buy the 5 in that color, if it was reliable and fun to drive.

    The 5 with that design language, that size and hopefully that price with the mentioned battery pack size and engine power.. yeah, that could sell enormously well.
    I'm sure it will also be a huge amount of fun to drive. Great for inner city driving and parking as well.

    If they can get the 'fit & finish' of the new Renault 5 right and it does indeed come in around the £20-£23k mark, then, with Renault's EV knowhow from the last decade of Zoe sales, it'll be a sure-fire sale success

      I think with luca de meo at the helm quality will improve and with the whole electric eco system the companies been working on for years that de meo is accelerating

    Had the 5gt turbo mk2 for over a decade. Might be on for this in the future, it looks fantastic.

    the 4 is not a real 4, it's just some kind of monster,
    but the 5 is a masterpiece!

      Totally agree with your assessment of the new "4". When it comes to revivals, BMW nailed the Mini, Fiat nailed the Cinquecento, VW (sort of nailed) the Beetle but Renault completely messed up the 4L's revival.
      As for the 5, I also agree. All that's left now is for Citröen to revive the 2CV (they could even call it the 2EV 😉) and the list of european automotive icons will be complete. 🙂

      @@module79l28 I only hope they are going to make a "normal" size and height 4, and use this a special offroad version. Otherwise it's a complete wasted occasion. The 2EV sounds good! you should sell them the idea! 😁

      @@jamesmccaul2945 Basically I don't like the fact that this doesn't look like a "real" car for the market; why is it so high from the ground? why all of those appendices? it looks like a Dakar special... I would have liked to see a basic, "normal", version (as the 5 is), and then you can present also the specials, as crazy (you say "bold") as you want. But show me the basic model first. They are surely going to produce a "gt turbo" version of the 5, but they showed the basic one before, to present the project. If this is the basic 4, then it's completely wrong in my opinion. It's severely overdone. (edit: or maybe this 4 version is for the media, to make people talk about it and they have a basic version behind. But we don't know it so we can't judge...)

      @@jamesmccaul2945 What really hits me is that the 5 doesn't like a concept car at all; it looks very well tought and designed, and very close to a possible produced car. The 4 instead... Maybe it's only that difference between the two that is so strange and awkward to me. But then yes, sometimes they do odd things on purpose so that the media and the people would talk about this; marketing moves to see the reactions about the paths they are willing to take... (p.s. considering the last presented vehicles, it seems like Bmw is starting to have much bigger design issues other than the grills...😲🤔)

    My main car is the Superfive from my father and I love it. The new item on my bucket list is to take a picture of it alongside the electric one, as soon as I own it. Love the design and the retro vibes

    I'll never understand why anyone would build a ground-up EV to be FWD. Since there's no weight, packaging, or fuel economy benefits to FWD EV like there there is for ICE-powered cars, put the drive motor in the rear where it belongs.

    I had a good look at a Dacia Spring when I was in Budapest a month ago and felt it was a perfect size for me...... such a shame that it doesn't appear to be coming to the UK so I'll have to wait for these.

    Refreshing to see another smallish hatch EV, getting sick of the vast majority of EVs being faux by faux
    Hopefully it makes to Australia .... a big ask, unfortunately

    I think Renault could be on to a real winner with both these cars. They can't compete with Tesla/BYD for efficiency or technology at the moment but they can very much compete on style and design language.

    Sadly, us folks in the USA will never get the Renault 5. What a brilliant design. One of the best designs i have seen in years.Way harder to make a small car than a big one. Love those huge wheel arches.

    Very disappointed by the R4. The joy of the original was its utilitarian, practical, economical character and that looks like it’s been lost.

    I would be very interested in either of these vehicles if Renault would put them into production as-is. I know its unlikely, but I wish that more manufacturers would be fearlessly bold and build these blue-sky vehicles!

    If they price the 5ev right, I don't doubt it will be a big seller. I myself need a small car and not many manufacturers are making them at an affordable price. I just need a small, zippy ev for town driving and some slightly longer journeys just out of town. Would suit me well.

    Anyway, the Renault 4 and 5 of yesteryear were much more likeable and prettier than these descendants under stereoids. Let's hope that at least the series versions don't come across as so bloated and embody the spirit of the original models.

    The most important thing is the price. If they can keep it low enough then it's sure to be a winner.

    looks are not bad. but with a 40 or 52kw battery we will see around 250 to 300 km range tops (don't forget that 20 to 80% sweet spot) which for daily usage goes down to 150 to 180 km - translate that to abc - always be charging (and there is no superchargers in site...). back in the leaf days this would be acceptable but these days anything less then 300km isn't quite usable if you can't plug it in at night in your driveway.

    The Quatrelle is cool in its basic, just a car form. It's far cooler than the modern iteration. I quite like the 5 but it hasn't moved on in the same way as the Honda e has, for example.

    We need a simple electric car. The concept Renault 5 looks very cool, the production basic model will hopefully be the same proportions but less flash, if they got rid of the 19in wheels, maybe 15in or 16in. Get rid of the colour coded bumpers, simple but cool interior, no big screen, just connect your smartphone instead of a big screen. Modern cars have too many gimmicks which push up the prices sky high. This car is aimed to youngish or a single person & as a second car. It'll defiantly draw a lot of people to ev's if it's priced well. It'll have to be simple if it's going to be €20k - €30k. Don't Renault have Nissan behind them too? Nissan have been making ev's for a long time, so maybe it's possible.

    Needs space for licence plates. So I predict the illuminated RENAULT lettering won't make it into production.
    I like the design of the new 5. Manages to form a link to the 1970s while looking fresh and contemporary. That shows how timeless the original design was. And the rear view shows that the tailgate will be larger and more practical than that of the Zoé. Think practical, offer good interior space and all-around view. That's what Renault is about.
    Not so sure about the 4ever; it looks like it has a very high floor so despite its height wouldn't offer particularly good headroom?

    The price here is key to the success of these. Over £30k and their giving the market to the Chinese makers. The MG4 has set the bar.

    Why such large wheels on a compact car? This trend has got to go the way of acid washed jeans. I'd rather have a Peugeot 205 GTi Tolman Edition. Also, if the Honda E had 400 miles of range it would be a Tesla killer.

    Now I like the Renault 4 and I love the 5, the new 5 I like it it looks cool, BUT the new 4 my god what a ugly bag of what ever it is.
    I think every one designs SUV's because they can not do anything else, I know a lot of people like SUV's but there is a lot of us that don't.
    And what's with putting 19in wheels on it just makes more expensive to replace as the car wasn't expensive enough as it is.

    Yeah, let's make everything slanted and waste potential space, what a cool idea. Space is overated, looks are cool and we are all teenagers without a family to haul around. Meh, I skip this, shiny toys with lot of lights to underline the dirt and scratches.

    Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
    In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!!! (BABVVO LAWS)
