Downtown is riddled with pedways, to get around in those down to minus 40 temps, and avoid homeless and street persons. Winter is a dead season. The beginning of this video, down 101 Street, with the glass towers ahead being the edge or beginning of Downtown. To the left of 101 Street as we walk, is Chinatown, and homeless area with shelters, missions and over 20 churches. City hall glass pyramid, Royal Alberta Museum, Alberta Art Gallery, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Stanley Milnar Library, Citadel Theatre and Performing Arts Centre, Churchill Square. Edmonton has a mandate that all new, core buildings are to be only blue glass orange brick, a nod to the Oilers, as seen here in the Ice District.
Small town attitude. (Race and religion only matter for minority employers). Not stuck on technicalities like references and experience. It's hard to keep employees so it's competitive. People are lazy, drug addicted, and unreliable. In Ontario, if you are late more than 3 times in a year, even by a minute, you are fired. Here, that is unheard of. Simple folk, farm, and country mentality. Not the sharpest tools in the shed. Very judgemental and aggressive. (LGBT not welcomed). Be humble, and pretend you're stupid, they'll be fine. Alberta is so beautiful it's worth the move. Most importantly, DRIVE! You won't get good employment without a vehicle.
Edmonton seems like it might be the only place I can get a job post grad but fuck does it look depressing in every video I watch, small cities in Ontario like Kitchener and London are much more lively than this place it seems
The downtown is a wasteland for pedestrians, big streets full if traffic small sidewalks and blank walls. More pleasant walking west of 109st.and south of Jasper Ave. But nice video keep it up.
@@AOWalkingToursWhat is the potential for finding a job in Edmenton? Are there many unemployed? How are the house rents? Can someone who knows please answer?

By the way, this isn’t Main Street lol. jasper Ave is Main Street If you lived here you would know this. So real I can almost smell the pot and pee lol. Jasper Ave smells like a urinal. Downtown Edmonton is not all it’s made out to be. I wouldn’t walk the street.s after sundown unless you are armed. And we can’t be in Canada. I live here.
My home city, it is depressing, Trudeau F'd this Country up. Downtown has homeless people everywhere drug addicts staring into space broad daylight and the smell of piss is everywhere, and the smell of the streets is horrid......
@@AOWalkingToursit’s not funny. Where have all the people gone?
Idk :)
Who in Alberta wants to go to Shangri-La? Albertans who have been nice and welcoming in this life will get a ticket.

The potential lives within you,
Immense or small,
You determine that factor. Hope this helped
