TH-cam has changed. I remember the OLD TH-cam of pre 2011 when it wasn't so commercial, where videos were not about gaining fame and sponsors but simply for the sake of great content. When TH-camrs didn't disregard their subscribers who brought them there simply because they got sponsors of other work. Where someone had millions of subscribers for being creative, artistic, skilful, eventive and relatable, and not for being good looking with nice hair and british....*sigh* I really do miss that TH-cam, that home grown raw TH-cam, not it's just so commercial and the community is dying.

She's not saying they're taking over video making, they're taking over the video watching, they have become the largest demographic who only want hot guys and tween things instead of great content. And is it getting better... yes it's commercial and looks more expensive and better quality, but in terms of the home grown raw youtube and the community, it hasn't. it's actually gone worse. And i've been on TH-cam for a looooooong time also, and it's community is slowly dying.

This is what TH-cam is to me. TH-camrs like Jack, true, dedicated creators! Jack didn't stick to the standard Vlogging which is how he started off! He creates documentaries and many other things which lets say aren't a popular trend, like "Shed Sessions" but he creates them out of his own interest, he motivates and inspires himself to create content he wants to make, which then goes onto motivating and inspiring his viewers to do the same. Thank you Jack, for being one of those TH-camrs who stuck to what you wanted to do by creating many unique and inspiring videos!

This video is a prime example of one of the reasons why I painted the JacksGap cartoon logo thingy back in 2012 on a canvas and why it's still on my wall, in the same exact place, to this day. You are such an inspiration to me, not only as a content creator, but as a person. You, Finn, and the rest of the JacksGap crew seem so passionate about what you do and I admire that so, so, SO much. I've always said this: I never get mad at you for not posting every single week, because I understand you take time to create something really unique, you don't just post a video because you want more views, when you post something it's something well prepared and creative, you are one of the few people I know on TH-cam that actually use youtube as a platform to post quality content and not take advantage of their looks to get something.

Jack, it has been amazing to watch you grow and constantly evolve. You are truly an innovator, and it's inspiring that you are always raising the bar and growing out of what you were doing a short time ago. You could make a killing doing more tags and funny challenges, but you've been exploring a new path. That must come with a ton of pressure, and waiting patiently is always worth it to see what you will do next.
I remember when Jack started to make videos. It was a great experience to follow him and his brother. Now lots of us who were at that time to another side of a monitor decided to make videos as well as these talented guys.
I am sure that if someone else reads it will be agree with me that we thank you too for inspiring us to do what we love to do!

This video means a lot to me. I've been making videos for 8 years, and even though I haven't gotten particularly big on TH-cam I still keep up with it because of all the support I get from the people who do watch my videos. I love making videos, and I have poured over a month of work into a single video before. And when something like that doesn't get a lot of recognition, even if you're really proud of it, it can be extremely discouraging. But I have extremely supportive subscribers, some of which have been watching me for years. If it weren't for them I don't even know where I or my channel would be. The importance of their support seriously can't be stressed enough.

The creativity, originality, and authenticity of Jacksgap has always made it one of my favorite channels. This was wonderful. Props for doing new things, being unapologetic about the fact that content creation is a real job, speaking out against abuse, and caring about your content as well as what you stand for.

I remember this was the first video I saw before I subscribed to JacksGap I can't believe it's been almost 2 years since I've subscribed, so glad I did and I love that you guys are doing the things that you love and I know you have matured but I have to admit that I do miss the old days and when Jack was a little more silly.
Another dedicated fan. Nicee, same here. I do miss the old days but it's great to see them doing what they love and changing the world. I been seeing lots of comments lately how people are unsubscribing from them since their taking forever to upload and want fun videos. But all I can say to those people is that their changing the world and are doing something Productive and amazing if you can't except it then don't comment those comments like that.
I also really miss thier old videos. And have been subscribed to them for years. The growth I've seen in thier filmmaking, thier content , thier creativity and most importantly thier passion is tremendous. Though I don't know them personally or vice versa , but I'm still very proud of what they've achieved. And though they haven't been uploading any videos for quiet a few months , I bet there are many people who'd be excited to see thier content

***** The video 'look up' was probably an inspiration for making this video in this way. It is very similar, especially with the structure and rhythm.
***** I, nor any of the others, were trying to say it was unoriginal. A while back he actually tweeted about the 'look up' video so I know he's seen it, which is why I believe he got inspiration from the other video.
Of course, this video is different and Jack talks about something completely different and it is separate from the 'look up' video. However, it doesn't mean that the video was not an inspiration and I was not saying it a negative light at all. Inspiration was not meant to be synonymous with copying as I think you have taken the word to mean in this instance.
This video is beautiful and has great meaning and depth with simple and well-articulated words.
It has some similar aspects, however, Jack is talking about the influence of us, as a community on this platform. Look Up had a clear idea of our excessive use of social media and how we should stop. '

I see a lot of your viewers complain whenever you upload a video that's slightly different. The Shed Sessions, for example, had a lot of negative feedback because many of your subscribers are here for your face and cute smile, but there is SO much more to you and this channel. I love how you stray from the norm in this community and stay true to your passions, instead of taking the easy way out and uploading a challenge video every week for millions of views. You upload content that you pour your heart and soul into, and I appreciate that greatly. You are a fantastic content creator, Jackson Harries. Keep at it.

For about 3 years now I have just been watching TH-cam. I have always had this little dream of having a channel of my own and creating content for the internet to see. The thing is, I'm not that brave. This big voice in my head always says no one will see it. I know it's not about the subscribers, but when you put so much effort into something you want someone to see it. You changed that big voice in the back of my head, Jack. It's now saying 'Do it! Do it! You have nothing to loose.' Thank you. :)
Wow this video took my breath away, I only started making TH-cam videos/ Vlogs 1 month ago & I've found it hard, My girlfriend doesn't understand, My family & friends don't know but at the end of the day, It makes me smile. I hit 200 subscribers last week, Honestly the best moment of 2014. And Jack's video today has made me realise those 200 subscribers care & love what I do, Just because bigger TH-camrs have millions, Doesn't make me a bad TH-camr, I'm just unheard & not at lucky, But that won't stop me doing what makes me smile.. I think one of the most interesting aspects of this site is seeing individual evolution. And with Jack (and Finn) I think that has been the most amazing part of their videos. From what started in a bedroom as a way to get over boredom and to pass a year off school, it has become this incredible channel dedicated to amazingly produced videos and shedding light on serious issues as well as having fun. It's really incredible to see, and Ella's video, to me, was one of the most amazing things I've seen on this site.
I've loved watching these boys grow, an I can't wait to see where they go from here.
As a huge fan of spoken word and a huge fan of TH-cam, I applaud you. This is phenomenal in every aspect, and so, so true. You have a true skill for telling stories and creating, and it's intensely inspired me for the past three years. This piece reassured that. Please keep this up and keep staying true to yourself as a TH-cam creator, as you are one of the few (in ratio) that have remained doing so despite the pressure and mass amounts of attention. I miss you a lot. I know you've grown up and have gone a long way to where you are now, successful and being so inspiring. I'm 17 now and I remember watching your videos when I was 12 and I just loved your adorable face and gorgeous eyes. I too have grown but I'm just going through my old TH-cam subscription list and watching all the old videos because I'm missing my pre teen years and how you and lots of other youtubers were my friends making me laugh and being there for me (through the internet) when I felt alone thanks a lot for being who you are, Finn too :)
this is how you express your thoughts about the matter, not making 10 minutes long videos with no closure or creativity put into it, but creating something so short and so important, that it actually makes you think deeper into it, sometimes i forget these litte things Jack mentioned, thank God we have people like you in the community, people who are actually grateful for what they have, people who are willing to give back, this video made me really happy, you've once again proved and shown everyone what it is like to be a youtuber, you're a youtuber, despite all the shit people say in the comments, you are one of the best.

This is beautiful. It gives me hope to know that there exist channels in which not only the audience grows, but the content creators grow with it. I'm a relatively recent subscriber and don't know how Jacksgap took off the ground, but from what people have said, and what I see today, it seems like it has evolved into something that is truly inspiring and meaningful, and on a platform that sometimes seems to glorify the exact opposite. You can't expect people to be stagnant and not grow, and I think it is commendable that Jack and Finn are shaping their channel to grow with them.

I just freaking love how you may take weeks to upload, but when you do, it is just the best video someone could ask for. Keep going, keep working hard, keep creating. You'll be bigger than what you are, trust me, one day everyone will know your name, and we know that still in that position you'll keep making these videos for us.

I'm always impressed by verse. It demonstrates an admirable patience and intelligence to be able to say what you want to say in a concise and coherent way and then, on top of all of that, make it flow and rhyme beautifully.
