California is at stage 3 (bargaining) of the five stages of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Jack is at stage 5 (acceptance). Good show!
Unfortunately this state tops the list of most litigious. This has results that EVERYTHING (cars, refrigerators, etc…) we sign here is similar to this length.
Have you ever bought or leased a car??? The forms are ridiculous. Consumer protection is messy and full of legalese. We can blame organizations like the CFB for making sure there are detailed protections in place consumers. Until this CFB attorney herself creates versions of these forms, I have zero interest in what she has to say.
That's a problem in many parts of the nation. Seems like its very own anti-trust violation: linking the purchase of one item to the purchase of another. I've mentioned the hypocrisy of this many times on my channel. Realtor training warns against this for instance when getting a listing and then helping seller buy next home. Its wrong when you do it, but for them, well rules don't apply somehow.
I am in California and there are indeed a lot of crazy people here. Sometimes things get bigger because it would take time and judgement to make them smaller. Remember Mark Twain apologizing to a friend for the length of a letter he sent. "Sorry, I didn't have the time to make it shorter."

Damed if you do.. about it being long.. Damed and get sued of you don't... because you didn't explain. You can't win. In my opinion 😊

That's a great line. Reminds of this Yogi Berra line "it's so crowded nobody goes there anymore."
