    HOW TO GET FREE HDTV FOR FREE USING ONLY A WIRE !!!
    Tv App for ios - • Video
    I was sitting at home bored and was wondering how i could get free cable, so i started off with a paper clip and realized it would not work probly because of the type of metal. I then realized i had some copper speaker wire. I decided to give that a try and within a few seconds i was catching 3 channels and then seconds later more channels, i caught up to 11 !!! It really is amazing how easy you can catch HDTV cable tv with just a wire !

    That's not cable TV. It's just ordinary free to air broadcast channels being received by a basic indoor antenna. Anyone with a strong signal could do the same. In fact I used to be a TV repair engineer and when we were testing for a signal, we just used to hold a small screwdriver between our finger and thumb and stick it in the antenna input socket and our bodies became an antenna good enough to receive a signal.

    Oh this brings back memories of the 60's, metal hang racks, aluminum foil antennas, rabbit ears, and such. Young people today are surprised it seems to pickup broadcasts through antenna instead of a cable TV service, yet that's the ONLY way before the 60's and most cities and towns only had the big 3 channels (ABC, CBS, NBC) and sometimes one or two UHF channels with reruns on them.

    I use a 1970s style VHF/UHF/FM aerial on a 20' mast. Using RG6 coaxial cable and splitters, I run 4 HDTVs and two FM receivers from it. All devices can be used simultaneously with no degradation of signal. The reception is clear and crisp, 100% free and better than anything I could ever get from a cable service.

    This is way old school from the 1950's when they used things called "rabbit ears". It works fine for all UHF and VHF channels in metro areas but the farther you are from the tower the less it works. Obstructions like buildings and trees also effect it. Enjoy the way it used to be.

  • @kurtwm2010
    @kurtwm2010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +176

    what you are receiving has nothing to to with "hidden cable TV". Your cable acts as an antenna and is receiving over-the-air channels. They are broadcast via TV/broadcast towers that are within approximately 60 miles of your home-made antenna. It just so happens that some of the stations you are receiving are also available on cable tv.

      Very true, where I lived we could also get Showtime and Disney but you had to crinkle the foil around the input cable to the box and slide it up or down on the length of cable until you tuned it in well enough to watch, then came the popular science magazines diy section for building coils, chokes and inductor circuit blocks that eliminated the foil and brought in more clearer channels like HBO and TMC until the cable companies found that they were losing megabucks and fought back with intelligent cable packet programming while using negative and positive traps, mostly on the polls. The negative traps could be defeated but the positive traps were worth there weight in gold almost as they could not be defeated.

      That would all depend on the signal right? I recently bought an indoor antenna which had zero reception and had to return it. So I don’t think a wire would help either in my case?

    • @karenphanson
      @karenphanson ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thegallantsaint2034 If you get no signal, you are correct, you will not receive anything. A wire of course can act as an antennas, however if you have children, or "curious" types around, it might be preferable to get something that has covered/safe wires. I purchased a few antennas because my signal strength is so bad where I live. I moved up each time to ones that supposedly went further and further and used power. Still bad reception. I gave up watching over the air digital (not cable channels) and opted for a Fire Stick and paying for Internet.

    If you wrap your speaker wire around the cable about 30 times you can electrically induct hidden cable stations that you would ordinarily get for free with your cable tv subscription. Hole magnets (get them at the home depot or lowes) can increase the signal as well I found.

      Cable companies are a rip off. Not only do you pay for local channels you can get with a simple antenna, but the prime channels you do pay for have commercials now so they're as annoying as any of the free channels. We ditched cable nearly 12 years ago, put up an antenna, and our daughter and her hubby gifted us a Room stick a few years back. We are retired and don't have enough time to watch everything available to us! My favorite is TH-cam on Roku. If I want to comment I grab my smartphone and hop on to comment. We have saved so much money!

    Thank you ! This is very handy to know ! ( though it is OTA not cable channels). We are need to keep up on the old ways of doing things, not have to rely on being "sold" on products to buy. New antennas are so cheaply made that the wires always break. BTW, when I was visiting Mexico City, they would use regular electric cord wire to jump cars ! Old timers may know this but I didn't ! A regular dollar store extension cord is okay, cut the plug off and other end off. Split the cord a few inches on both the ends, then strip the wires and jump your car ! Hold the wires carefully to each battery terminal, just so everyone understands. Great for emergencies or penny pitchers !

      People should not be making videos or commenting on subjects they know nothing about. Just because one sees someone doing something doesn't make it the right way, it could be dangerous such as the jumping of cars. 12 volts will not electrocute you but using the extension cord you describe could damage the battery itself. I once seen a car supported on milk crates and someone working underneath the vehicle, does this make it right?
      Everyone is free to do as they please, but If you are creating videos or commenting on things outside of your skill set let users know you are not a professional and they should proceed with caution or at their own risk. This would be covering your a55...not that anyone will hold you accountable for following, at least those that could use common sense.

    Hey, all 6 million of us tuned in! Many people don't know that you can get over the air channels for free. Cable companies don't tell you that. We get 32 channels with my little attic antenna. Well if there is lightning or rain or at sunset things don't come in on all of them. But it's free! I have a 100 mile range antenna. I am going to try this trick for my downstairs tv to get just a few of the channels. People are so mean but then again you got 6 million of us checking in and that is not to bad of a signal on your part.
    Thanks.

    You created a ground antenna. It was used early experiments to make The Crystal set radio , work without batteries.

    Notice when you scan, you are scanning OTA broadcast signals(always have been free) and NOT CABLE channels

    I get like 27 channels I'm off an antenna with 30 apartments on it that is a good idea though I didn't know that would still work we used to do it with the old TVs put a metal clothes hanger on the end of your wire it'll help your reception even better make it into a circle LOL that's old school.

      This! We perpetually had an upside down wire hanger in the tv as a kid, and you would change it’s shape or turn it to get better reception.

      Hang it outside window and double your channels. You will have to re scan your channels though for new channels to show up. Good luck.

    What were the hidden cable tv channels? Those were broadcast antenna networks. Cool tip. Thanks.

      Hate to admit it but this is truly old school.
      My coworkers and I were using this tech. back in the 70'swe even used it for our car radios so we could get rid of those ugly telescoping antennas.
