oh my gosh me too! I tried being a phlebotomist but very quickly realized that seeing people so ill and in pain was too much for my empathetic personality. I want to help people, so being in the administration side of things means I can help without having it take a toll on my mental health. Good luck in your career journey!
Hi, after the completion of the program, do you plan on pursuing an associate degree.? if yes, what degree do you plan to do with your coding certificate?
Medical coding is a good career. I took this course in school but I didn’t took the exam and I wish I could. Right now I would have a good start in my life. I went for nursing but is so tedious! :( I am trying to survive and become a Nurse. I just wish I could have done coding. Do your research okay.
I feel very welcomed just reading other people comments, I think we all are in the same boat. It is super nice learn and improve together. I decided to get into the program because I had my second child and the world is not socially the best, so, I want to be more time with little ones without losing my financial independence.
Me too! I came here because my teacher expects us to know everything. She asks us things we don’t know or have never learned, instead of actually teaching or explaining anything:(
I stumbled upon this, I want to thank you. I have worked in healthcare for over 20yrs. i can no long continue in the field I was in so I want to see if I could do something else at home. SO, this is great. So the main idea here is that you have to get proficient with working those books, getting to know those books to find those codes.
I'm looking to become a medical coder myself. This video was helpful in introducing me to my field of interest. I know some reports will be a bit complicated but I know I can do it. All I gotta do is try.
I graduated and earned my billing/coding degree back in 2005. I coded for a dental office for 4 years then decided to go back to college and became a Sonographer. 6 years later, I'm wanting to get back into billing/coding. I feel like I'm starting from scratch. Thank you for these videos. They are extremely helpful!
I went into sonography because I wanted to be more hands on with patient care. I knew nursing wasn't for me and I've always found imaging fascinating. There are many differences between ultrasound, MRI, CT and Xray. After much research and job shadowing I chose ultrasound. I love it.
@@zipporahwilliams2114 Hello. So, there is so much to say about ultrasound. More than I can put in a short response. It's a great field and very rewarding. It has its pros and cons though. Reaching out to someone in the field is a great idea because the general public really has NO IDEA what we really do. Everyone thinks we just take pictures and look at babies all day which is so far from the truth. If you're really interested, let me know. We can exchange emails and have a real conversation about it. I live teaching about my career!

I watched many of your videos before making my final decision and I am in my first week of training for Medical Coding with Bryan University. Thank you!
Hi there! What laptop or other supplies would you recommend for medical billing and coding school? I start in a few months and would love to know what your thoughts are on what I should invest in.
Question. When a patient is a long term stay say a month or so, do you usually have to code everything for the whole months stay all at onc? Or is it usually broken up? And also, how much time would you say you typically spend on a single case?
Hey Victoria ! I had a question. I am not sure if you have addressed this in any of your previous videos, but once you receive your coding certification, what jobs utilize this kind of training other than the traditional Medical Coding job? What jobs can I apply for where I can utilize this knowledge? Thank you very much for everything you do !
I have been processing medical claims for 9 years and have just started classes for billing and coding. I want to advance in my career and this was my first video I have watched in regards to what it’s like to do the actual coding of a claim. I was highly intrigued and you are very knowledgeable and personable to be able understand/follow the process. I have subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos as I progress in school!
Did the medical terms trip you up? I'm studying every day and am worried I won't get it. Also started reading Step by Step medical coding and the entire insurance and Medicare part seems a little overwhelming. You make it seem effortless; I'm hoping to be in the same shoes one day.
Thank you for sharing your video. I will be going for medical coding this fall but very nervous and scare since my English is not the best. I work with insurance and billing but not too confidence about myself.
Are those textbooks also available digitally? I know there’s websites where you can look up some (I work in a PT office and occasionally have to check a diagnosis code from a script). I was wondering because it seems like the searching could be done quicker with a digital book. I was also wondering on average how many cases do you code per day?
Love love love this video! Thank you! I know this one is a bit older and I have been enjoying all of your more recent videos. Something made me want to start at the beginning! I am currently majoring in Health Information Technology and knocking out my prerequisites. & yesss, medical terminology is extremely important. My class is now over and I will be going back over and over all I’ve learned, as well as Anatomy. I can’t wait to begin all the coding courses!
Hi! I am looking to make a career change and wanted to keep with the medical field track that I have been on. About how many cases are you required to do in a day? Are these jobs usually remote? Thank you for making this video!
I just got an interest in MBC I have experience in verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations for specialists office visits, sleep studies, imaging, and EEGs so I have quite a bit of knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes

I spent a year in tech college studying medical assistant, we had to learn EVERYTHING!!!!! I think I was sleep the week we learned billing and coding 🤣
I know this vid is kind of old, but I'm thinking of doing this so I can work from home while my kids are a little younger as I'm a divorced parent and it is impossible to find a job that allows me to get my kids on the bus and pick them up without hiring someone. My question is how do you find a work from home job after you complete your certs? I have a medical background.
Thank you for this, I start class next week 😊. I was curious as to how you look up the codes and this was very helpful!! I'm studying medical terminology like a crazy person right now 😵🤯😊
It sounds like you've already delved into the healthcare field with your CNA training and other medical education! Yes, every medical condition, including nose bleeds, asthma, and diabetes, has specific codes used for reimbursement purposes. Medical coding can be quite intricate but incredibly rewarding. If you're thinking of diving into the world of medical coding further, I hope my videos continue to be a useful resource for you. All the best in your journey!
Hi, can anyone tell me the easiest to get into? CPC? COC? CIC? CRC? I am supposed to start medical coding with a friend that teaches it and she has said that AI is starting to take over some medical coding jobs. Originally I just wanted to do CPC, but now I’m not sure. Which credential would have the best job security?
So if I understand this correctly what you are coding mostly is the diagnoses and any procedures utilized as result of diagnosis.now then do you have to code any after care instructions such as use heat and ice as well as prescriptions for meds and medical implements like crutches or braces??thank you i appreciate your time
Hi, I’m thinking of becoming a medical coder. Questions1:Do I need to take a medical billing course as well? We’ll that help my prospects in finding a job better, understanding better the job of a coder, or earn me more money? Question2: If I have 20 years of inpatient hospital Pharmacy technician experience will that help me in any way to get a better salary from the start as a medical coder rather than the minimum 28k in the beginning.
Hi I have a question when doc diagnosed right knee pain secondary to underlying arthritis do yo code arthritis and right knee pain both or you don't have to code the knee pain? Thank you
I am researching if I want to enter into medical billing and coding. I recently started a career as an insurance claims adjuster and am not yet convinced it is for me 😬 For that second more complex case that you mentioned; about how long (from start to finish) would you estimate it would take you to code that one? Also do they have a space online to look up the codes? I am NOT a paper book kind of girl which is why I am struggling with “adjusting” I find it much more efficient & effective & logical to be able to simply open that ebook type in a key word and be taken directly to the information I need rather than flipping through hundreds of pages and skimming thousands of words to find the same info. Could just be me though haha! Anyway I appreciate any information you could provide as I find your videos VERY helpful!
.i want to learn coding so bad but My social skills aren’t amazing. I’m a huge introvert and usually home alone or with family. I don’t have many friends and don’t really involve myself in any group activities. I was an over the road truck driver the past 2 years as well - so there’s even more isolation. Idk if my social awkwardness is going to be an issue. It makes me nervous just thinking abt it
I honestly believe coding is one of the best medical jobs for introverts. I was a CNA and there was constant interaction with everyone in the building. The only people that were rarely ever seen were the office workers( billing/coding, administration). That's what drew me to this field because Im also an introvert and prefer to work alone. I could work with people if needed but I work better on my own. Best of luck 😊
I learned i a little bit something from you thank you for sharing but im still confusing i really wanted to scholl this type of medical billing and coding, how much it cost to school online and how long it might be done?

As a student, I'm glad to find your channel it is really helpful in learning more detail about coding.
Oh my god…thanks for the vid. It’s helped me realize this would be way too stressful for me. Gracias chica ❤
Great slice of the medical coder pie!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you, Sonal! 🥧
This is helpful, i am 23 and will be starting classes for medical coding and billing in August! Im really nervous . These videos will for sire help me!
How is it so far?
This was very helpful as I decide if this is the right field I want to do. Thank you
I watched many of your videos before making my final decision and I am in my first week of training for Medical Coding with Bryan University. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! I’ve been in home care for 17 years and I’m looking for a career change.
Im hoping to go back to school. Im 29 and I want to be able to finish with something and I think I would like this! Thanks for the information ❤
Interesting job! Here we go again.
Value… fee for service… DRG, interoperability… better connections … workable.
I started my online classes today. Im thrilled. And scared. Lol
Hi there, love the video! Is there anyway to double check if you’ve chosen the right code? And what happens if you choose the wrong code? Thanks!
Oh dang! I was hoping you were going to break down the second report! Thank you for posting! 💜
I just started looking into this, and this video was posted on my birthday...I'm wondering if its a sign. lol. Great informative videos. Thank you.
Hey Sam! Thanks for leaving a comment! Glad you found the video informative! 😁
It is a sign!! Take action now and I’ll check back in a year
I’ve already taken my classes I’m just waiting for the right job opportunity.
I just registered for a course in it. Did you get an answer to your question
First time checking out this line of work consistently doing something such as this as a remote position
This is helpful coz I'm on studying medical coding and will be graduating in March
I'm kinda nervous that it might be very hard to work
Why no software of it? It looks too boring to switch between pages.... Very good presentation by beautiful lady
Complicated case. Cath lab-I love this!!!
I was also wondering on average how many cases do you code per day?
agreed!
Very insightful for an introductory video! great, thanks!
Omg- you just blow my mind and this is so amazing. A meeting journey for me
Thank you, I begin my classes may 1st.
Nice video. I think I need more videos on how to study and retain information from the guidelines.
Me too !
Seems to be a big request for guidelines lately! I'll have to start putting some things together!
Contempo Coding thank you so much!!!!!
This informative video works so relatable and systematically like my Navy job was and I thank you for sharing your experience.
Hi!
I am looking to make a career change and wanted to keep with the medical field track that I have been on.
About how many cases are you required to do in a day?
Are these jobs usually remote?
Thank you for making this video!
Thank you..I understand at first..now I totally got it
I just got an interest in MBC I have experience in verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations for specialists office visits, sleep studies, imaging, and EEGs so I have quite a bit of knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
Hi. Can you teach us how you organized the tabs in your books?
I am in my 4th week in school and will be getting my certificate for coding at the end of the year and had no clue what you said lol😂. I will be getting those books and thank you for this video I will be subscribing to you and following you. I want to know more about this. Thanks
I am very interested in this field. I'm currently in marketing but I am reaching my creative limit and am seeking something a little more rewarding and black and white. Thanks for this video.
Funny I was thinking of doing marketing!
Hi i just finished your playlist for 2021 guidelines
I spent a year in tech college studying medical assistant, we had to learn EVERYTHING!!!!! I think I was sleep the week we learned billing and coding 🤣
Hi thank you for this great video is very helpful
In this job do you have to call patients to request payments? I hope not
Thank you in advance
Hi there! No there is no patient contact in medical coding.
I'm studying medical terminology like a crazy person right now 😵🤯😊
Med term is a toughie because it really is just memorization! Thank goodness we have Google in the real world, huh? :)
@@ContempoCoding Yes!! Google has helped tremendously with my class😊
I was doing CNA, and went to school for other medical work .
The codes for reimbursement nose bleed, asthma, diabetic codes
CPC
Thanks for the video. How much money can you make with medical coding?
Awesome Mam...Thanks for sharing these information with us.
So if I understand this correctly what you are coding mostly is the diagnoses and any procedures utilized as result of diagnosis.now then do you have to code any after care instructions such as use heat and ice as well as prescriptions for meds and medical implements like crutches or braces??thank you i appreciate your time
Studies, care… community. Patients and populations and provides
Great, what is code for last complicated case
Being able to use an ebook to type in a key word to get straight to the info would save much time for sure. I'd prefer that as well.
I want to know the answer.
How quick can the online course be to get code certificate? Are they 100% online?
AWESOME Video! Thanks for taking the time to make this video....
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@ContempoCoding I want find question answer question
.i want to learn coding so bad but My social skills aren’t amazing.
I get it. Am very similar. Trying to get my son into this. Valuable skill.
Me to
Omg this is so me,, like I chose this career not knowing is what's best for me by me being to myself alot and just not social like I should. 🙃
Is the exam open book or do you memorize every code? I’m just learning about what it is.
These codes don’t have to be memorized do they? Like when you’re working will you have access to the book?
I learned i a little bit something from you thank you for sharing but im still confusing i really wanted to scholl this type of medical billing and coding, how much it cost to school online and how long it might be done?
