My Favorite Painting of all Time From my Favorite Shop + Spring Mantle

- I scored some of my favorite artwork ever!! One painting was from a huge estate sale I went to in January. The other was from the grand re-opening of the Station, a secondhand shop in the small town of Springville. They feature vintage items, antiques, reproductions and host a monthly flea market called "Junk-in-Your- Trunk".
As part of the series, "Using Thrifted Finds in Real Life", I show you how I decorated my mantle for spring with items from the estate sale.

It’s a pheasant. Nice haul, those books and the nightstand!
Thanks so much! I lost my mind for a minute thinking it was a quail! 🤣
Thank you for watching!
That pheasant is stunning & I love the cow picture!!! ❤
I think the pheasant was quite offended by being called a quail, but now he’s happy! 🤣
Thanks so much for watching, Vicki!
Teresa! My grandmother had that same painting in her home for years! What happy memories it brings me. So glad you have one now, too.
Hi Wendy!
I assume you mean the Waywain… I did the research after uploading the video, and was shocked that many consider it one of the most famous paintings in all of England! Crazy! What wonderful memories for you! Thanks for sharing! 😊
@@teresaelling-peacefulhome yes, sorry. I meant to specify which one it was. 😃
@@wendybrown3656 I figured! It totally makes sense. I really love art history and I’m surprised that I’ve never seen this before.
It’s binging such joy… 😊
Yes the william snoma blue and white!!! Springville is 3 hours away from me. I'll need to check out the station.
If you ever are out this way, let me know and maybe we can meet up for coffee. There’s a cute shop right down the street from the station. 😊
Mrs here, I think that we would be drawn to the same thing if we went treasure hunting together. Love the blue and white Williams and Sonoma plates. You did well to pass them by. I don't know if I could. Depends on the prices for me too.
I would love to treasure hunt with you! Wouldn’t that be so fun?
Thanks for watching, Mrs. B! 💛

Did you have a favorite?
I’ve already put the two paintings up on my picture shelves, so watch for that video next week!
"The Haywain" is a very well known painting by John Constable. We studied it in my 19th Century Art History Class. Also I do think your quail is a pheasant as you questioned. Are you going to be talking about how your 'Frozen February' went? We are doing a frozen month but it is from Mid February to Mid March. We put everything we can on our Discover Card (Bills and all) and pay it off each month for the Cashback Bonus. Our cycle runs mid month to mid month so I will be able to tell how we did in a week from tomorrow! I'm excited to see what we were able to save. The hardest part for me has been not eating out. No thrifting was challenging as well. Thanks for sharing your haul. You got some great finds!
Hi Sheri!
I am so glad you’re no spend month is going so well!
I researched the Haywain after I had edited and uploaded the video. I can’t believe I have never heard of it, but I was so excited to hear about its history and how incredibly popular it is! But, you already knew that! 🤣
I feel so silly about the pheasant. I really do know what quail look like!
Thank you so much for watching and for your inspiring comment!!
I noticed the lime green glass, and I recently found out it’s uranium glass. My husband bought a small black light to use when we go out to thrift stores. I didn’t realize that I had a piece that my Son gave me years ago. It was a flower vase. Sure enough the light made it glow !
Wow! I have never heard of that! That is absolutely fascinating.
Thank you so much for your comment, Candace! 😁
A quail? It looks more like a pheasant.
Hi Ann!
Yes, I realized it was a pheasant and it’s a little embarrassing, because I actually do know what quail look like! 🤣
Thanks so much for watching !
