"Whatever sounds good, whatever feels good, I think is good." Spot on! You're probably my favorite TH-camr. Awesome videos and a cool personality to match!
At 01:15 "expend and push" are you pushing with the tongue or the cheeks or a combination. And if you do it with the cheeks, where is your tongue meanwhile?
+Ana Richie Thanks for the great question! The simple answer is: you can push with cheeks OR jaw OR tongue OR throat - or any combination. Find what works for you, but try them all. At 1:15 I'm definitely pushing with my cheeks. Meanwhile, the tongue can go anywhere you want it to, but the back part of the tongue always helps the throat close, so it is partly busy just while circular breathing. However, you can use it to push along with the cheeks or jaw or throat, to push on its own, or to create different harmonics while pushing with a different part of the mouth. Does this make sense? Good luck!
@BREATHWOOD what didge do you have?? I have noticed the mouthpiece is pretty small as I have an eucalyptus didge and struggling to get the mouthpiece right!
+Jon Bowler I have several didges, actually, and they all have slightly different mouthpieces. With a eucalyptus didge, you are probably using wax, right? You'll need to use a hair dryer to warm the wax, roll it into a snake, and then turn that into a ring. Once you have a ring the size of the end of the didge, fit it on the end, but keep it fairly narrow at the edge. Make sure it seals on both the inside and outside of the didge. Happy to help more if you're stuck!
