Thanks for sharing. I love your videos. I am new to Oxide and just started with a pack of 4 mini ones in the brown & black themes. I have two questions: 1- are the pads half-dry half wet? Or mine had been left on the shelf for a long time as they were more dry and by rubbing them on the paper I didn't gain much. 2- which ones could be essential colors to buy? The colors diversity is endless and the budget is limited. And from where ? Is Amazon a good source? Thank you in advance
Ranger Ink → shrsl.com/1qvas Scrapbook.com → shrsl.com/2hkct Amazon → amzn.to/3L3vccR They shouldn't be dry unless you've used them a lot. My must have colors when I'm buying a new product are always pink (like picked raspberry) teal (like peacock feathers) and yellow ( like fossilized amber). I love each of these colors on their own, BUT they also mix to make, green, orange, and purple. =) You can buy them directly from Ranger. You can also find them on scrapbook.com or amazon.
If you've got mini ones then you've got original distress inks not oxides. Oxides only come in the large size & are a mix of dye and pigment ink. Original distress inks are dye only. Both have water reactive capabilities & wicking. I love them both but I think Oxides are easier to blend. They are so creamy & delicious and blend beautifully. If you can only get a few go with pink/red, blue & yellow as you can get secondary colours from them. I found i had to have more colours though, as i couldn't choose. I would always get a brown...Tim's signature colour. I like vintage photo. The cardstock you use is important too so try it out on what you have. If you are using a lot of water you may need watercolour paper or mixed media heavy stock. Have fun. Check out Tim's videos too as they are all on his blog. This is a great video and yes it's good to have all the techniques in one place 💕😃
Oh my word! There were so many techniques I've never learned! I've been making cards/scrapbooking for 32 years! I can not wait to play this weekend!!!!
I watched this on oxides and the other one comparing the crayons! I love everything about your videos!!!! The music and no talking and just showing how it all works! The best ever.Thank you.
Thanks for sharing how to use these OXIDES for so many uses I've only used them for making the edges pretty on paper. Just to know they can be used in 25 ways in your tutorial will make them more fun. Endless ideals & possibilities with different colors!!! Time to get colors I don't have... Thanks for sharing so much!!!!
I think Distress Oxides are the best invention I have seen for a long time of crafting (over 30 yrs) & I believe you have mastered them..thanks for sharing
What a brilliant tutorial. Not just showing the techniques, you actually followed through and used the pieces! I loved it. Thank you. So thorough, and while there may be loads more ways to use the distress oxides - your tutorial is a stand out.
WoW...thank YOU, Amber, for doing this for us!! As a newbie, this video is such a bonus...I can now delete the voluminous 1 technique vids I've been laboriously watching. I always say, there is nothing better to a new crafter than a quick, easy method that achieves great results. Cheers to you!!
