Yes bass is so underused in metal. Many bands volume down the bass to where you almost cant hear it and the bass just plays the guitar parts. But Jinjer shows how amazing of an instrument bass can be in metal, makes it so much heavier and groovier. I played guitar for years and now i found my new love, the bass. Playing a cool bassline who fits the riff is so satisfying to me. And i really suck at playing bass/guitar, i‘m not even 5% at the level of this guy, but i try my best
i was thinking the exact same. i got into the band when they had two guitarists and i was worried they'd lose a little something when one left. My fears were unfounded.
Vortex is really one of your best tracks. It goes to show how advanced your structure, melodic progression and heavy basslines truly are, you combine really complex ideas to create such a powerful track. Mad respect !
Mesmerising! I'd love to see more Eugene+Vlad+Roman JOINT instrumental walk throughs as the way you guys come together is phenomenal - I'd love to hear what Tati hears before she lays her superb vocals on the track.
Go get a special box of Wallflowers. It will feature pre-production demos without vocals, exactly those which Tati used for writing lyrics and vocal parts
@@JinjerMetalBand Wow, didn't expect to get a reply from the Gods themselves! Thank you for your music - you guys are something special. I've never been so excited for an album and will look out for the special box, sounds amazing. Good luck on your tour and can't wait to see you live. 🤘
This is the best way of doing a playthrough. No camera moving or anything else, focus on playing. I've already watched this video about 50 times and will continue to do so. Thanks a lot Eugene. This is inspiring.
Best rhythm section in modern metal. Fight me. Both compositionally and technique-wise this is sublime dude. From another bassist, I so appreciate getting to see exactly what you're doing
Those slides tho!!! o_O ....& the casually fingernail-raked chordals ....& the bit of slap just in the right places to fill out the sound It's about time for you guys to deservedly grab a whole new audience & blow the fcuk up, for the sake of showing a wider audience what is possible in music. :)
For me Eugene is up there with my all time favorite bass guitarists: Chris Glen, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Flea, Jaco and Jason Newsted. The way the bass lines work with the rest of the band are obviously a huge reason but when played on there own it's something else - I could listen to the bass line all day and not be bored. To have both at the same time is excellent composition and something I love about Eugene's bass lines. I've played guitar for 35 years and he's the first guy that's made me think about buying a bass - and that's after really admiring the work of Geddy, Flea, Jaco and Jason. The only thing that's stopping me is Roman's guitar parts are equally as gorgeous and that's why I love this band - everyone is so good. I could geek out about the drums and vocals just as much. The songs sound so good. When listened too as a whole they sound simple and complete but when you listen to them in detail you can pick apart all the details and uncover a masterpiece. Every song is like an awesome Christmas present. The initial excitement is huge but even with constant listening the excitement continues.
wow bassists and baselines don't come much better than that every single note played is thought out to perfection it compliments not only the drums but the guitar and vocals all at once, id really love to see a walkthrough of your sound and gear and how you create that sound n tone, respect
I can bet a thousand bucks that Eugene studied and analysed Ryan's Martinie's style extensively. Several aspects are homages to Ryan. And, Ryan's one of my all-time favorites.
AWESOME playthrough Eugene!! I have always been so glad to hear someone picked up and even progressed from where Ryan Martinie left off in metal🤘🤘 You are a credit and inspiration to all bass players🤘....but also still humble and gracious from what I see in interviews. Thank you all for your music😁
This guy...EUGENE...made me buy a bass. He is prolly the best bassist I have ever heard. I hear a lot of jazz rhythms from him at times which are complicated as well but I've just never heard a bassist that grabs me like he does as a musician and as a presence
Jesus Eugene is such a monster. Dude has great tone and a great approach to creating bass parts for a three piece rhythm section. It's obvious he knows his theory and what he can do against the guitar parts. What a great band
So amazing, you are a strong inspiration for me, you touch my soul with your art. I've packed my bass guitar 15 years ago and you make me take it again. Thank you, send to you and the band all my love and my strenght for your tour. Love to see you in Paris
I seriously can't explain what your music means to me, guys! Yous are just incredible and deserve so much more recognition for your talents. The metal world needs you!
Eugene is just Apollo. After a couple of minutes I realized that you can not only watch, but also listen to music...
those big finger strums and thick growling lines with sour higher notes mixed in do sooo much for this song to make it even better. Eugene youre such an amazing bassist man
This video reminded me of how hard I need to work t maintain my position at the top of the career I work in, even though it isn't in music. thanks I needed that.
Love when a metal band has bass being such an important part of the sound. You rock dude.

Every good rock, R&B, funk and metal band has a bassist who is actually the lead guitarist that's not even hyperbole that's just facts
Watching this, there's no mystery as to how Jinjer has such a full guitar sound despite only one guitarist.
Eugene's such a badass.
i was thinking the exact same. i got into the band when they had two guitarists and i was worried they'd lose a little something when one left. My fears were unfounded.
Just a nice dude.
They are really
just amazing in all aspects.
I knew this bass line was sick but seeing it like this... F*** YEAH!! Eugene’s always progressing. The synergy between him and Vlad is outstanding!
Had the exact same thought!
Side note: Eugene...did you lost weight?
Maybe it's the camera shooting from below, but....maaaan you look thinner!

You and Vlad, one of the tightest rhythm sections, the Batman and Robin of metal!

No offence meaning the genre, just the skills
more like Chip and Dale

I cannot overstate how much I appreciate his style. The timing, the choice of high notes vs low notes, attack. It's perfect to my ears
