Thanks for watching everyone! What other tom grooves do you dig? If you'd like to take these concepts further, you can book a one-on-one online lesson with me here: JeffRandallDrumming.com
1:37 this groove is just incredible, this can really get people moving, but the groove on 4:15 using only just RLRL with a few accents on some of the toms just sounds incredible. In my opinion, the groove on the bucket kings of Leon really gets me moving fairly more than the groove on 1:37 like I mentioned
The Tom groove on 4:35 “Breathe” Angels and Airwaves, this groove just sounds incredible and slight complex sound like to samba. Despite Jeff isn’t playing the groove to fast, this still sounds here really musical and groovy to get moving to if you get the accents right on the snare drum. I will try this tonight on my drum set. Thanks for u help Jeff 👏👍😁🎵
This is sooo useful for church and when gigging and you wanna add variety & a spiced up feel to the song. Rob Brown talked about avoiding that 'Tom Groove' and coming up with something different. I've done that. And it sounds soooo much better. This just helps to practice in order tom grooves! And please dont make us wait this long for your videos dude! Its torture! 😆
I don't know how to play drums, so if I try to make a drum groove in FL Studio, I'll struggle with knowing how to use Toms. These are very fun to learn, it helps improve the authenticity of digital music.
It doesn't sound like the transcript of adams song matches with the video. The 4th beat of the first bar doesn't sound like 16th note triplet, but rather two straight 16th notes. Am i correct or am i hearing it wrong?
Can you please break down the groove Dave Grohl made in his song “ 2:16 PLAY” 3:52 seconds into video he plays the groove I’m talking about. Can you please break that down slow
@@JeffRandallDrumming thanks Jeff.... To be honest, for me, its easier with a "monkey see, monkey do" approach.... So if you do it slowly, I can just copy what you're doing.... ☺️

Great video! My Hero by the Foo Fighters is one of my favorite tom grooves to rock out on, I’m surprised it didn’t make the list.
The chorus groove of First it Giveth by QOTSA is one of my personal favorites
Intro to 'I will remember' by Toto
i like ticks and leeches by tool

Seeing the under part of the hi-hat "hopp" like that makes me happy!
Even if I don't like the music of Blink 182, when it comes to analyse the drumming of Barker, there's always something interesting to hear
Exactly! He’s a super skilled and creative drummer. No doubt about it.
Где ты был раньше, талантливый парень? Наконец-то нашла хорошие рисунки для томов. Thanks 😊
THANK YOU JEFF YOU ARE SMOKIN!
Muse, City of Delusion - the tom groove just before the trumpet solo. Check it out! Would be cool to see you rock that.

Nice song choice!
That Breathe groove is one of my favorites. Another killer video. 👍🏼
Same here Beau. Thanks bud!

Bahaha, thanks for stopping by bud! Stay well!
I thought Move Along would make this list for sure! Great video Jeff
Well I just covered it last video! Haha
Good grief, man! You are such a good drummer that I think I could listen to an entire solo album from you! 👍😀👍
Wish you would’ve included Move Along and Spoonman, but great list nonetheless! Love the confidence in your drumming man!
I’ve got Move Along in my “Rock Chops” video and I’m saving Spoonman for an “odd-time” video. :) Thanks for watching bud!
Thanks for sharing, man. Always appreciate your groves
Cool lesson, thanks.
Great video, your kit is sounding killer!
Thanks Paul!
This stuff is golden

Can you please do a breakdown of the grooves at a low tempo.
YES, Breathe was awesome! I’ve been trying to figure that out this week. Nice on Jeff!
Yes! Such a great beat. Tricky at first but it flows once you get it.
KILLER EXCERCISES!! also got me back into You Know What You Are by Nine Inch Nails! just got the vibes 🤙
This is what i needed :) thanks :D
Glad to hear it!
superb performance!!! subscribed!!
Thanks Sammy! Welcome.
very very cool!

Spoonman is a great one

ur awesome, man
"The Gift" by Angels and Airwaves SHOULD BE in this list.
Cool vid mec.
But what about Jesus Christ Pose by Soundgarden? Awesome drumming there too, nan?
😎yes!
Chop suey intro is godly
Awesome! Breathe by AvA and Adam's Song by Blink 182 🤙
Hi jeff~!!! Can you tell me what drum throne you use?
Hey! It's a Pork Pie throne. Love it.
Круто звучит!
Ticket to ride from the Beatles. Great video btw!
Mike Bordin is the Master of Tom Grooves. This is why rock drummers are going down this days.
Wow, impresionante, sigue subiendo más porfa!
PLEASE : tutorial of Rock and roll . And Twist 😀 fils and transtition
Can you please break down the groove Dave Grohl made in his song “ 2:16 PLAY” 3:52 seconds into video he plays the groove I’m talking about. Can you please break that down slow
Shakin` by Eddie Money has a nice slow tom groove in it.
Journey - Separate ways also rocks
11. Low-Foo fighters
XD
POD, wow! bringing it back. Either you know your drumming history, or you look younger than you are... "We are, we are..."
80’s baby right here! Grew up with P.O.D.
@@JeffRandallDrumming 80's baby here, too! I dig your taste in music =]
I feel like you could just make a Travis Barker groove video and have a ton of variety in there :)
I don't know if In Bloom by Nirvana counts. But it does have toms and it does rock. ha Your snare sounds very very nice!
Great call!
basically all musics by The National hahaha
plz make a 10 syncopated drum beats video
DUDE. That’s my next one! How’d you know?
Jeff Randall i actually meant to put linear drum beats... but i’m hyped for this one too!
Haha, I like the linear groove idea as well. Something to think about for sure!
Can you do a more triplet based tom ideas minus Green Day Longview we all know that one...keep rippin
need a lower tempo to read those
who is Tom Grooves?
"Standard" 3e snare fill on almost every example dude....did you even realize?
You forgot Anthem Part 2
Yeah, I considered that one until I tried to play it! Haha. Maybe I can do it in a future video when I can practice it for longer. Travis is a BEAST.
@@JeffRandallDrumming Hahaha Yeah Travis is pretty insane. I'm sure if you practiced it a little you'll pick it up!
Howdy Doody head
only one left is ticks & leeches
Yes! Saving that one for an “odd time” list. :)
Metallica enter sandman?
What about jesus christ pose?
Gonna use that one in another list soon!
Yeah... Impressive drummin.... But slow down man, we're beginners and way too fast for us to learn at that speed 😕
That’s what the transcriptions are for bud! Just take ‘em one note at a time.
