Their vocals live are unmatched, especially their harmonies as a group. And yes, their stage presence and ability to convey emotion is incredible. Not just one or two guys, it’s all of them. Even the rappers can sing their asses off. And because the vocals are so insane, people often forget how technically difficult their dances are, too. I’ve tried to explore many other groups before, but Exo set the standard so high, I can only casually listen to others. Exo will always be my one and only kpop group ❤
I can't more agree with everything you said about EXO. They're indeed that good at their job. But if I have to choose one thing about EXO, it's always the vocals; how they're vocally so amazing live that most of us, EXO-Ls, prefer the live performances than the studio version.
The way exo rappers are distinct from other groups is that they are not hard rappers but rather melodic, theyre so good at rap singing that match the exo songs so well. ❤️

exo is what i would personally call “a perfect all kill” they are just that good.
To be honest I like some kpop groups but when it comes to EXO music especially live performances they are just on another level like it’s unmatchable for many years already

EXO is the full package: vocals, rap line (and you're right, all rappers proved to be crazy good on different shows and lives, but it's their choice to gravitate towards more chill style, even half singing half rapping sometimes, that reaches more people, who are not into rap at all but can appreciate this chill style), their stage presence (Kai as the Center of the group is unmatched but he sets the bar high for everyone else, they have the confidence of pros and seasoned experts), plus in Korea they're called "group with no visual whole" as each one is stunningly handsome and have modelling and acting gigs on the side. This type of group is really rare, I can't even think of another one on the global scale... They have the best vocalists, the best dancers (Kai and Lay are unmatched in their preferred styles), and the discography is top notch! I also love the combination of all types of voices: warm, cold, baritones, tenors, high and clear, low and velvety, even scratchy when needed, and all of them are very emotional singers, they reach the soul, it's not to demonstrate the technique, but to convey the emotions through singing. Priceless.

You know an artist is good when it sounds even better live than the studio version...even more when it's a group and they have to blend their vocals perfectly when they go live...
SM hit gold with this lot. They have hugely talented performers - their main vocals are insanely good, so they support and help the others to get better, but who are also capable of handling the most incredibly difficult vocals that allow the whole group to shine; they have brilliant rappers, who encourage all the others to have a go and are so solidly trusted, the rest can relax; they have two of the best dancers in the industry who can lift the others and tutor them to improve while providing solos that are rightly iconic; they have a superb Leader who supports and encourages and leads by example; they have a Centre who is an inspiration on stage and truly gifted in that under-rated position. EXO has it all and on on top of that, the mix of characters is perfect so that they may occasionally bicker, but they truly love and cherish each other. All this with a solid love of performance and a humble gratitude towards their fans who enable them to have the lives they do. So yes, they are good.
SM has been known for producing good vocals since the first generation. EXO is one of the SM groups that has a unique symmetry. Its vocal line is one of the strongest and most beautiful vocalists in Korea, and even the rest of the members are distinguished by their good voices. It is rare to find a group with nine members who all sing well. Especially in the direct performances, which are better than the studio version. It is nice to enjoy what they have been presenting all these years because it is really distinguished. They are the kings of vocal in K-pop without discussion.
I love this particular performance of Gravity although it has only 6 members. But Kai got his chance to shine and showcase his vocal singing not only his parts but DO's too (unfortunately you mostly cut his part pausing right in the middle), and Chanyeol's and Sehun's powerful rap.. EXO are titled as Vocal Kings of kpop, nobody expects less than superior vocals of them, they sing while training on treadmills to achieve the stability! Their live stages sound better and more interesting than plain and polished studio recordings. EXO is the group where rappers can sing and vocalists can rap and all of them can dance. EXO has "the powerhouse of kpop" - three top tier vocalists next to who lead vocalists don't get enough attention and lines, but all of them could easily be a main vocalist in any other group. Their natural talent topped with unmatched work ethic, professionalism and hard work is what makes them superior. And when you start to learn their humbleness and respect for others you just fall in love with these 9 beautiful souls.
The vocal stability and stage presence of EXO are just unmatched. Been to a lot of concerts of KPop idols and western artists but EXO concerts are really worth every penny.

Legend has it that during the trainee days, the guys sang while running on a treadmill. That’s probably why their voices are so stable.
I like the rapping because it’s still melodic, unlike most rap.
And you can praise this group all day and we Exols will love it!!
Proof of them singing live: Baekyun and DO and Chen have all gone off key live. And you can definitely hear it. That wouldn’t have happened if they were syncing. Also, one performance, Sehun missed his line, and there was silence. As he got back in the line, Chanyeol burst out laughing at him. Sehun looked so embarrassed. Then Chen stared at him and just smiled. And finally, DO came up and gave Sehun his scary stare and then laughed. I love that performance. And during acoustics, DO forgot to put the mic up to Chanyeol’s mouth, since Chanyeol was playing guitar. When DO finally remembered, most of Chanyeol’s part was over, and all you could hear was the two of them laughing. I’ve heard them change words mid performance. And there Baekyun’s moment when he got so emotional he couldn’t sing his lines. That was when the words really hit him that Xiumin was going to be leaving for the military. And Xiumin and Chen just picked up their lines until Baekyun could pull himself together. One of their most poignant moments.
Finally, there’s a reactor called Mystic Kpop, and she took one of their live performances, with computer technology cut out all audience noise, all band sounds, and even the backing track. All you could hear was them with their beautiful voices. That was a learning experience.
So I for one am convinced that they really do sing LIVE!
Do Kyungsoo is just an incredible person that I will never stop admiring. At first glance, the album, the songs and his vocals may seem simple, but in fact it is not so at all. A large range does not make you a better vocalist yet, because another important role is played by the "technique", which Kyungsoo undoubtedly has great. He has such control over his voice that he makes all the transitions from low to high notes completely smoothly and even seems to make no effort. Quite naturally, during a song, it can change its timbre from incredibly sweet to sexually rude and sound simply amazing in each. Kyungsoo is one of those few vocalists who can make your heart flutter.

This album is something unique that Kyungsoo has put his soul into. He himself wrote the lyrics for the title song "Rose", and also took a direct part in writing each song. He learned to play guitar while still serving in the army, studied independently and played each of his songs from the album to record. He has recorded songs in several languages "Korean, English, Spanish" which not everyone does.

SOLO ALBUM "EMPATHY".
This live stage of GRAVITY from SMTown Japan is among my favorite performances of EXO. With only 6 members as XIUMIN and D.O. were already in the military at that time, EXO still slayed! You can tell how much hard work they put in to deliver those powerful and stable vocals coupled with the intense synchronized dancing. Needless to say, EXO were born for the stage!
They so good at their job 😂 THATS WHAT I’VE BEEN THINKING. EXO really takes it seriously. As their long time fan i notice their skills improved a lot day by day. They still take vocal class every week tho. Such hard-working and talented artists. I always admire EXO for that 🥰🥰🥰

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different "starting very roughly and ending unrealistically gently". Kyungsoo's unique voice gives each song a unique charm. I'm ready to listen to his voice as much as I want.! Even when Kyungsoo just speaks, he wants to listen and listen to endlessly, such a pleasant voice.

Can not agree more with you.. EXO is worth we spent money on them coz they really are amazing and produce a lot of good musics and do amazing live performance. I am the type of person who never like and never interested to watch a concert coz i don't like crowd. But after knowing EXO.. now i really want to attend their concert and experience how it feel like even just once in a life time. And it grew stronger on me especially after i watch their 11th fanmeet anniversary last sunday through beyond live.. its amazing how their vocals clearly sound online and can you imagine how it will feels when you hear it offline??? It must be amazing 🔥

I think it's that unlike EXO, western groups rarely have multiple members that can go solo, let alone 8-9. All EXO members sound good as soloists but the great thing is they want to stay together as a group. I love them for that. Thanks for the reaction love, I just subbed.

You can see music through Kai's moves even if the music is turned off. His musicality is insane! He's incomparable when it comes to dance lines, body control and musicality. This boy was born to dance and his honey voice is so soothing like caressing my ears 🥰

I'm not a musician and I've never been a rap fan before I met Chanyeol because in my opinion he is the absolute exception from all rappers in the entire K-POP industry. Chanyeol has such a deep diverse voice that it is easy to adjust to the mood and feelings of any song.

i think the reason why going solo means "the end" for a group here in western pop because when a member becomes successful solo, they tend to just focus on their solo career than the group activities. that's what happened to nsync to name an example. i think that's what's different from kpop. they are branching out to do solo albums, act in movies, etc. have you reacted to a member guide yet? pls do so. thanks!

Tempo is not my most favorite kpop/exo song but I think this is the best. The music production, vocal layering, beat and that acapella part is insane.
I agree that they are good with their job. EXO is still my favorite and the best kpop group for me. I appreciate other kpop groups as well but I haven't seen a group aside from EXO wherein all members have good vocals, with a strong rap line, insane dance line not to mention that all members are good dancers too, all are actors, 6 of them are musical actors, great stage presence, all 9 members are good looking, respectful individuals, very down to earth and they always show their appreciation to EXO-Ls. ❤

EXO is a diamond not only of SM but of the entire K-POP industry. I sincerely apologize, but the visual effects of EXO are too powerful, as soon as they appear on the stage, they capture you with their dazzle, not letting you go until the very end.
