I’m Irish and would love to visit Lebanon. I lived in Australia which has a huge Lebanese community and worked with guys of Lebanese heritage and my pt in the gym was Lebanese Australian. The nicest guys and the food they introduced me to was phenomenal. Very friendly people
an interesting fact in 1982 Irish troops were deployed in Lebanon, precisely in a small village called Tibnine which is where I am from and the Irish troops made an interesting observations that many of the villagers were as blonde as germans.

Long ago now, in the early 80's we had a young man from Lebanon attend our school for maybe a month or two in Pittsburgh PA. He and his family fled Lebanon when the siege of Beirut took place. He was a very nice young man!

Lebanon is NOT an Arab country my friend. Don't be fooled. Yes, we're Arabic speakers. But our DNA is 100% Mediterranean. (Canaanite and European DNA). And we have a different culture as you can see.

but if you wanna think of it Canaanite DNA is basically Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and parts of Syria so you can see our cultures are very close because we are the Levant States. so i guess these 3 countries are the most similar to us. All ethnic Lebanese share over 90% of our ancestry with the Phoenicians regardless of religion or sect. It is not exclusive to Maronites. But they are a minority so the country overall is Arab. Because if you wanna think of it Lebanon has Phoenician, roman, byzantine, ottoman and arab influences. So, i think its just easier to say arab since we are in the middle east. Lebanese are Arabs in the modern sense of the word. You get me? @@freepagan
@@ayahammoud9929 Oh I get you. But you're wrong about your conclusion. You just admitted that we're mostly Canaanite. This is exactly the point. By DNA we are Canaanite, not Arabs. It is a totally different ancestry. And while historically the Canaanites were widespread, we Lebanese are the only ones who are still *predominantly* Canaanite. Up to 90% of our genome (between 50-90%) for most Lebanese. Other Levantines like Palestinians and Jordanians are not. It is Lebanon where the genetic line continued. And that is specifically because we descend from the Phoenician Canaanites, who had their homes in the port cities of Saida, Tyre, Beirut, and Byblos. We already knew this history. But now genetics confirms it without a doubt. You can no longer doubt it. And you're right it's not just Christians. I'm not even a Christian. It is confirmed to be all Lebanese people. A lot of Lebanese don't even know this, unfortunately. But they should and I'm here to help spread that knowledge.
It's not easier to think of ourselves as Arabs. You think that because you've been doing it your whole life. But it simply isn't true. We only speak Arabic. But Arabs are *not* our ancestors. Go and look it up if you don't believe it. We are mainly Canaanites, and our ancestors mixed with Europeans and other peoples as well. But our base is Canaanite, and this is a fact. So, we have our own ancestors, and they did great things for the world like invent the alphabet. I'm happy and proud to descend from them, and you should be too. There's no reason to pretend you descend from Arabs. That's not our ancestry. And even if you follow Arab culture, you're still very different from other Arabs, because Lebanese culture is quite unique. You can still connect with Arabs by saying you're an Arabic speaker. Without having to repeat the falsehood that you're an Arab. Better than saying Arab, we should say *Lebanese*. Which implies Canaanite ancestry. And for those that don't know that, we can explain it to them. By doing that, you honor your own ancestors, your own roots.
Everybody knows we speak Arabic, proudly. But that's just a language. That doesn't change your genes. The real Arabs are a different people, with different genes and a different history. And we all know it. Saying Lebanese is more honest and accurate. And it is sufficient.
