Hi from England, I have just got a super 7 hub and I was wondering seeing as my bicycke has an aluminium frame and has V brakes so is a weaker rear end would it be possible to remove the coaster brake and torque arm, then just use the hub as a 7 speed with freewheel.
@@don-torpedo Thankyou, the hub just turned up in the post, later I will strip the unit down and asses it for wear and then look into removing the brake.
@@hellcattanks Ok I stripped it down as far as I could, the planet gears and sun gear all have some wear but look Ok, some wear is on the axle but not bad. I'm having trouble with a couple of things, one is the philips screw in the end of the axle its frozen, and the other is the cone behind the chain sprocket its also frozen, should I use some heat on these?
@@ultraproject2619 You need to put a large washer under the snap ring to keep the brake cone from unscrewing itself without the brake cylinder/pads present. NOT recommended though. Do not use too much heat, it'll weaken the metal...
@@westelaudio943 Its been in use for a year or so with no trouble, but I'll bear that in mind. I see you have a To3 transistor as your avatar, you into electronics too.
