- ** A VIDEO ALMOST EVERY WEEK **
You asked the questions, now I'm answering (some of) them!
** Ingredients **
- 1 cup + 3 tbsp flour
- 1 cup quick oats
- 3/4 cups light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cups butter
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 chopped pecans
- 12 oz jar of caramel ice cream topping
Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
Microwave butter to melt.
Pour butter into flour mixture.
Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased pan.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans on that layer.
Mix caramel and 3 tbsp flour.
Pour caramel mixture into pan.
Crumble the rest of the flour/oat mixture on top.
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Cover and refrigerated until cool enough to cut.

My college mascot was a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, so I'll go with that. Huskies, labs, and golden retrievers are close seconds though.

Okay, three things:

I wonder why EVERYONE chooses Super Mario 64 it's a great game and I would do it too but it's funny why everyone chooses it
So far, if any, which recipes from Cooking Mama have you made off camera for a meal if you really liked it?
That's what I've noticed about the app. I don't have a problem wading through the microtransaction and social media prompts though.
For me, mario 64 was the first game I figured out on my own as a kid. That and I've played it so much, I can just zone out and beat it in an afternoon. Kind of like the comfort food of games.
I don't think I've made any of the cooking mama recipes since the videos they were featured in, but when I made Pajeon it ended up being a pretty decent dinner.
i really like this format for announcement and q&a videos and the like. most vids of that sort are hard to focus on, personally, so it's nice to see a cute recipe in between. i really liked the gallette video where you tried to recreate a dish in a game. it was very creative! and i liked having the trivia in between. you've made a good niche for yourself :)
try buttering your bowl to get more caramel out of the bowl. and butter and flour your bowl. gets the squares out easier
Good point about greasing the pan. I think I forgot to mention that in the video 😶 I should throw that in the description.
As for buttering the caramel bowl, I never thought of that!! That would make it pretty much effortless
you could also try using a layer of grease proof paper leaving two sides long, that way you can just lift it out of the pan, you may want to butter the paper though

That's tough, I don't know if I have a favorite. I really like the recipes where you have to catch falling ingredients though. I definitely want to find a way to copy that.

maybe if you lined the pan with parchment paper it could be easier to get them out? that's normally worked in my experience
That's a really interesting idea! I'm not sure if it would cooperate with the hardened caramel, but even if you have to cut some paper off I think it would be less effort overall. I'll have to try that next time.

What would you recommend as a substitution for pecans? I'm not allergic or anything. I'm just not a big fan of nuts.

MystikBlack_ To be honest, I've never tried replacing the nuts. I wouldn't think it would make a big difference to just drop them from the recipe though.

get yourself sweetened condensed milk in can (not evaporated milk) and put closed cans into a hob with boiling water and boil for 4-10h and you will get million times better carmel sauce than what you used.

Omg i was eating a giant rock chocolate while watching this. Feel like too much sweet, too much energy. I always wonder how can you guy can eat so sweet, like double chocolate caramel cake, or mashmallow chocolate,.... Too sweet that i really can't stand if i eat it without hot tea.
