    Thanks so much for this video - job done in 10 minutes .
    Be aware that my wifes 13 plate RHD Clio took a concerning amount of force to get the rear light off and it released towads the boot ( sliding sideways ,)NOT striaght out due to the locating pin .. watch that bit iof the video you'll see what I mean . . There was a risk of damaging the cable as it released quickly .Might be worthwhile to get a plastic pry tool in at the non boot end to move it off the pin being carefull not to scartch paint etc . But thats for next time..... But the big question is 'Why Renault? Why ???

    Thank you so much for this. I have the Haynes (UK) manual somewhere, this is becoming an easier and more ‘visual’ way to find guidance on a particular, specific task though. I have the PREVIOUS version of this Clio mk4 I work on (my wife’s car), and although the rear light cluster is different, this helped a good deal…mainly this later one is a better design. On ours, a 2015 RHD version, the full lights are on the body not the hatch, and there are 3 plastic plugs emerge from the cluster black moulding that contacts/inserts into the bodywork. ISSUE is that I did this in a cold snap during February in the UK, and our colder days, hate plastic.
    The trick as I remembered after breaking one of the plastic plugs, is to have a bucket of hot soapy water, and pour it over the area you are dealing with. This treatment, if you do the work right afterward, made the driver side cluster literally come out in 5 seconds flat, after the screws/torx are removed on the clip-attached black plastic ‘L’ piece my wife’s car has. The passenger side, man I wrestled with that thing, and I have the plastic pry-bar kit, and I was gentle with it for a half-hour before I realised, this ain’t budging til I use what I KNOW to be too much force…so one plug or peg locating the cluster snapped. I put a small blob of grease on these locating pegs before reassembling, and that should be that. Much easier job, because I knew what lurked behind the plastic moulding more or less, after your vid. Not a lack of confidence, just you cannot proceed until you know what the bit you cannot see, looks like really. Thanks so much, my regards, and take care all.
    PS that warming of plastic, is an important thing, for many jobs, the classic is folding old-style manual mirrors back in, that have never been folded back in…pour a bucket of hot water over them and lube them with WD40 or spray grease afterward, and nothing will break even in winter. Many plastics undergo embrittlement with sunlight and oxidation ie age. What gives way happily at a balmy 24 degrees C, is a stubborn pig when down at 5 degrees C, and might well prefer to break/snap off lugs or pegs or locating pins instead, if they are plastic. I remembered the trick a bit late, do it first, if it’s cold, then you will do the job in a third the time!

I'm sure your detailed advice will help many when they read them in the comments, so I'm gonna pin it to the top of the comment section. It is so hard to work on plastic in cold weather and we're gonna use your advice! Thanks again!

      Dokładnie. Trzeba wyrywać klosz dwoma rękami z całej siły. To jest chore. A na filmikach wychodzą same😆. Nie kłamcie.
      Choć ten film i tak jest najdokładniejszy z tych które widziałem.

    I cant remove the light holder, its...not possible at all. :D I mean, it looks mega easy on the video (time 0:55) but, its impossible for me. No matter what direction I push they wont release.

    • @BbrosAuto
      @BbrosAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you, it's not as easy as it looks in the video. Wiggle it up and down while pulling towards yourself. It needs some force to it, but at the same time you need to be careful not to brake or scratch something.
