This is an excellent tutorial on how to remove a T4 headliner. I will be following your steps to remove the front headliner and all the plastic for the rear headliner, then driving the van to an upholstery shop to leave the two sections of headliner with them to recover. Thanks so much for taking the time to create this very helpful guide. Is the deteriorated headliner foam sticky? Wondering what the best way to protect the van seats and carpet might be.

The foam is very sticky and may stain the seats, I just use old blankets to cover the seats while I Remove it from the van

Great video! Thanks for a comprehensive tutorial.
How do you remove the aircon vents from the rear headliner? I can’t for the life of me work out how to get them off without breaking something.
My headliner has started sagging around the vents so going to do a temporary repair in the meantime until I get around to tackling the whole thing.
But need to get those vents out!

push a flat blade screwdriver in the narrow side of the vent and they will come away

I found the vent on the rear just falls apart & the foam
    Goes all funny.
I ended up stapleing it along its edge then mastic to hold it when i refitted it .

Great demo! Is there enough space between roof and headlining to stick 5 or 10mm of insulation prior to replacement?

Hi , great tutorial, but you seemed to have skipped the bit i really need to know, ,,, or i missed it .... do you scrape off all the foam/dust back to bare on the boards before applying the fabric ? Otherwise surely it wont stick ? Also do you recommend a specific headliner for lower budget , ie just needs to work nothing fancy ... Thabk uou
