If Ollerton or Shepshed had won the vote, there wouldn’t even be a custom database for us to discuss! The plan was never to use a database with all the real life players added in, I just mentioned it exists so you can use it if you want to. Need to cross reference if the same people moaning about the squad were the ones moaning about Wembley winning. Because if so, there’s literally nothing I could have done to make you happy…

I’m not addressing this again. I’m just going to start blocking people hurling negativity my way, I don’t need it. Constructive criticism and discussion is fine, but some of you are crossing the line and it feels like a mob is forming, and I won’t have that in my community.
i don’t necessarily agree with the decision but also it’s pointless as it’s a long term save - its not like any of the real life players would be playing in the premier league once you’ve reached it or anything so it doesn’t really mean much overall

This series is going to be amazing. Whilst not the team I voted for, I am excited for it and agree that they deserved to win. They truly get what Kev was after. Let's all get behind this series and help make it something special.

@@Anu_Sol I still check Google every once in a while to see if “pulled a Mick Powell” has made its way into common usage. Can’t understand why it’s not mainstream yet. To be honest, though, I was more of a Harris fan during the series.
Hey Kev. Level 10 veteran here.
If you can get a half decent HOYD (literally personality will do at L10) you can usually upgrade your youth coaching / youth recruitment for little to no cost at these levels. The facilities are far too costly but the other stuff you’ll find gets accepted and you can end up hitting the Vanarama with “excellent” across both recruitment / coaching.
As a fun side effect of that, as you’re at such a low level, you’ll end up debuting 15/16 yr olds that have promise and some of them can end up travelling right up the leagues with you which is just awesome!

My one true local club. Born and raised on the same road and always keep an eye out for their results. Nice to see them getting a bit of interest
Not having the real players is going to be a bit of a mood killer I think, will tune in but I wouldn't be too happy if I was in their shoes either.
Would be cool if you at least would go get the player pics from their mod and nickname your newgens after them for some sort of a compromise
Yeah it's unfortunate but I can see where Kev is coming from, they're 16th in real life so making a mod where they're one of, if not the strongest team was a bit of an oversight on their part. They should've worked together on it
Agreed, was hoping the real players would be featured. Would it be changed? I hope so but I doubt cos Kev mentioned about them expected to steam rolled the league if real players are played.. and the budget would be too big.

@@lollujo Fair enough Kev, I take your point in your pinned comment about had a different team won this wouldn't be a discussion, I forgot that for every other club it would have been new gens anyway. I still think nicknaming the newgens after the real players could have been a cool compromise but anyways I meant no offence/pile-on was just sharing my opinion, will still be watching as always - fan since the Peterborough (FM16/17(?)) days!
You can go to Wembley by reaching the final of the fa vase, they usually play the same day as the fa trophy final and each team is allocated a corner of the stadium and are allowed to watch both games usually just for a tenner

Considering the link up with the actual club and the intention to work closely through the series. I imagine they'll be slightly disappointed that more of their actual players aren't there. Plus feels like a bit of a missed opportunity!

I understand the reasoning however perhaps editing them to better align the budgets and recalibrate their abilities would've been worth it. That way you could go down and film with the actual players and discuss their virtual performances. I get that would've added extra work so might not have been feasible!
Just also want to clarify, it's not criticism! Only perhaps a slight missed opportunity for a greater level of immersion which us FM players would never be able to achieve that you had a chance at. Will still be watching and enjoying regardless.
@@lollujo Much better doing it the way you are. As much as it would be good with the real players, it would be super awkward if you go down there after slagging off one of the virtual players, then having to go face to face with them. Plus, it could actually affect the real players and the real club.

I personally would've preferred the real squad as I wanna see you go up the leagues as quickly as possible and would've been nice to know the players more, but I'm still looking forward to it👍
Vast majority don’t want to see me do 6 consecutive promotions. People like the struggle.

I know what you've said about the players makes sense in your head but 100% better with the proper players, even if for a season and then they all get released, if you thought they were too good, you could have just made them slightly worse and changed the wage budget issues etc.
But lets all be honest for a second shall we? Its your channel my guy and you should be able to do whatever you want to haha so crack on, I'll still watch along for sure

honestly you using the squad would be much more fun. We don't care if you can blaze through the first few promotions. Being able to see videos of the real players attached to the game characters when you go to the stadium would've been amazing.
I promise the majority do care. If I won the league first season easily, half the viewers would stop watching. We’ve been there before.

Upset about the squad being newgens bar 1 or 2 when there were better options like RB.
Not putting you down or being ‘hateful’ because I love your content. It just seems lazy considering you could have turned some older players into management or scouts to be a part of the long term future.

I think you may have misjudged this save. Surely a huge part of the appeal of Wembley FC for the viewers was the database of actual Wembley FC players? This is just going to feel like any other non-league save with randomly generated players, and I imagine the club themselves will feel disappointed that only 2 of their actual players are included.

@@lollujo I think a lot of people voted for Wembley because they announced they had their own database so assumed this would be used, so I don’t think you would have lost viewers as it would have been a really interesting novelty, even if it was for only a season. I will be watching each episode regardless as I like watching the handsome bearded gentleman.

I haven't looked at their database but I imagine it just contains their players, and they haven't created players for other teams in the leagues above or below them that aren't in the default database. Then they've obviously exaggerated their players stats so he wouldn't even need to do transfers for a while. He could stick with the existing squad and any newgens that come thru and just walk his way with consecutive promotions all the way up to vanoramma South.
Until someone wants to create a database containing all the players and coaches for all the leagues this database adds, this was the best option to get a somewhat realistic save.
@@JakeHughesFM Every series where Kev has just utterly stomped it has lost viewers. People need to stop telling Kev how to do his job re: FM content, he's been watching how the numbers behave for years.

This is a great idea. I love saves like this. Kev, I would have liked to see you take your legend manager profile and go to manage a team like Wembley. I feel it would have made the media questions funnier for sure

Thinking of starting a same kind of save, not had much luck with a level 10 database in previous fms, so this is going to fun to watch and maybe i will pick up a tip or two!
Kev, criticism comes with your success , the bigger you become the more criticism that will appear. You do you, i am a non league lower league veteran myself, having the real players would be almost a cheat code and i think you're right totally smashing people will give up on the series after 3/4 videos and your club visit.

I’m excited to follow this save, and wholeheartedly agree that real players wouldn’t matter after five or so episodes. It is quite amusing though, that Kev gave a lengthy explanation on the Wembley mod being OP and then fired up a database with a striker with 17 finishing. 😂😂😂

Looking forward to the series can't wait to see how the Christmas tree tactic works out in games next episode. I've seen so many comments about database of real players not being used but I think some people don't understand that at the level Wembley FC are at player turnover is so regular anyway and I think viewers wanting to get attached to individual players who won't even be there at the club by end of 1st season is not even logical, at the end of the day it's the actual club Wembley FC that is the main part of the save not a few guys who will play a few games and then need replacing anyway by end of next week. I personally see your logic in playing the way you are but each to their own.

Great database to use highly recommend Dans databases. I use his level 12 one for my AFC Crewe challenge.
Loved Bourne Holme tours and Leamington so i am excited for this get why you aren't using the real players as they would have been realeased anyway like any other non league save but would've been nice to use them looking forward to watching the series kev keep it up
I play Xmas tree formation with a DLF and 2 Shadow Strikers. Works well I find.
I'm in the midst of a save where i brought Grays Athletic to the Premier League from the 9th tier. Currently fighting for our lives to not get relegated. This is giving me those vibes.

The hive is the same the walk before the game
It's not hard to put the names of the real players in with their positions in the pre-game editor and let the game populate the attributes based on club rep. Would add a lot to the save.

If he did that, he'd then have to do that to all the players in that league, and all the league above and below him because some people would cry because it's just his team that was changed. You'd then have people start saying that certain players have the wrong skin or hair colour or the wrong height or weight etc
If you want him to play it authentically with the correct names, maybe you need to stop moaning, go into the editor and start creating all the players and coaches that aren't in the game database for the leagues that have been added and putting in the correct info for their dob, height, weight etc
@@Mallrat83Photography to be fair I did add a lot of players and teams into a custom database. But clearly there’s more need to do it with the team you’re actually managing and have a partnership with. You know where you can ask players IRL about their game form etc… that’s not the case for other teams.
But what’s done is done. I’m not in the “hate mob” it was just a constructive comment. As Kev has said he’s made his call. We move one.

Let the fun begin, the idea is unique and I am all in for being part of this. Even tho I expressed my reservations on X in area of dumping real players for randomly generated lads.
Disappointed the Wembley database wasnt used. Would have given the save a closer connection to the club for us. Even if their stats are padded after a couple of promotions theyd be replaced but the players would have had their moment. Looking forward to the save but it has taken a little bit of a spark away for me personally.
think the reputation and stuff was also bumped as well so it’s a lasting impact and not just the players
@@ewanhorsley2474 Yeah I get that, I just feel that keeping original players adds more depth to the save, for example when he does his match day vlogs, we'd know some of the players and again it adds to the interest in the save and story of it all

I get that the database would have been OP but it takes away from the magic and the partnership to not have many of the real players
They’d have been gone in a few episodes anyway. The partnership is with the club, not the players.
The database would have been shit. Atleast using the dB he is, all the teams below the vanaranna south/north level will be primarily newgen players and will be at the correct standard for the league they are in.
If Kev had decided to use their database and not made a single transfer, I imagine how they rated their players would have seen him get consecutive promotions all the way up to the vanaranna south.
Ah man, the real players would’ve been a nice touch. I thought that was half of the point? Looking forward to it still though.

I never comment, but you have to use the real players. I’d be gutted if I was part of the club and you didn’t do it. I don’t care that you’ll smash the league - you probably will anyway. At least this way it’s with the real players and we can get to know them too!

It would probably have been better to start using the other database and using the editor to nerf yourself which is really quite easy to do just so that at the start you get all the real players which would in itself off content oppotunity with the actual club
Not really, because if Kev has the pencil showing on screen, obviously people are gonna accuse him of "using the editor"
