As a Wigan fan, the last few years haven’t been particularly great, that being said one of my favourite things about the club is the history of defying the odds and always fighting to the end
yes, I did a career back in fifa 22 and won the ucl, but recently I haven't searched anything about them. How did Wigan play last season? Hugs from brazil
Yeah on carrer mode I was wayne rooney this was back on fifa 21 before they took him out the game I played his carrer until he was 40 retired at Everton then became the Wigan manager in EFL championship. The budget was like £25M as they must of got promoted from league 1 so I signed some players and we got promoted in the playoffs. In the PL we had around £28M after renewing contracts so I brought in some frees to stay up in the top flight .
As one of the staff who went unpaid through that time and has subsequently been let go this is heartening to see. I was a recruitment analyst at Wigan between 2021 and 2023 (maybe no longer having me in your backroom staff was a help to your chances of success!😂) and will always have fond memories of the first club that gave me a job in the game despite how sourly it ended. Keep up the great content Kevin and Up The Tics
Tics fan here, been watching this channel for a few years now and it's great to see this video pop up. Only watched the first 4 minutes so far, but that sums up a lot of what's happened at the club since lockdown, though there is more to it. We've got a great youth setup, we've been having to use a lot of our academy players this season, maybe more than we should but needs must considering the transfer embargo (not to mention having had some great players leaving to raise money during our admin phase - Devine and Gelhardt for example... shamelessly linking that to Kev's NLTL). Danson's alright but he won't be pumping money into the club (and he's incredibly private), plus he owns the rugby and all signs point to him using his money more there. It's already been said that he wants to run us as sustainably as possible, which, in football terms, means cheap contracts and sell the better players for big money. Be reet if we had a solid match attendance, however we struggle to bring in 10k. Also, he seems to be dragging his feet in bringing in staff in various positions. But we're financially okay for now and we should be drama-free off the field now, and we'll see what Danson will do with us down the line. So that all being said, I can finally mention that I never see Wigan do well often in FM videos on youtube (other than people managing them of course). Always seem to languish in League 1, or below and it's as hilarious as it is frustrating
To be honest Wigans youth system is underrated, a lot of good players have come through Wigan's youth system especially recently with the need to rely on it due the financial trouble. 😊
Any FM vid where you get away with so many tickles they get their own testimonial was worth every hour put in to making it! We'll probably never see Wigan in the Prem again, but here's hoping they have some more stable days in the future
A fabulous rebuild video. As a Wigan fan it's a pleasure to watch someone make a video about us. We are very much a chaotic overachieving small club. Impressed Tickle and Hughes stayed all that time. Good little youth system that kept the club alive through administration. A great intro too told our story well. too.
Being a Tics fan myself, these recent years haven’t been kind, but we always seem to pull through and defy the odds, thanks for bringing us back to where we wish to be #BELIEVE
Love that you decided to do these rebuilds as well! Been my favorite FM content creator for. awhile, but for some reason the rebuilds are appealing, glad you are also doing them!
I did a Wigan rebuild... Got them to the prem in 2 years. Won the championship, had the most points in league one but 8pts deduction meant we finished 2nd. It was epic... Now prepping for first season in the prem.
Here's an idea for a (I imagine v. difficult) rebuild outside side of England - Dumbarton are the only "small" side still in existence that have won the top division in Scotland, albeit in 1892. Can you take them from Scottish League 2 and back to a Premiership title? Slightly less difficult would be do wine a Scottish Premiership with Kilmarnock, Motherwell or Dundee who have not won a top division title since at least as far back as the 1960s.
Great vid Kev. Love how you kept Tickle & Hughes throughout, in reality I’m sure we’ll be losing them both in the not too distant future. Our academy is doing rather well at the moment, not quite reflected in the game but we should have a few more names appearing in the next few seasons as well. You did have a Bayern Munich player on loan in your first season too 😜 Liam Morrison, he’s got the potential to have a good career IRL as well.
Pretty good rebuild, but objective of top5 was at least a season away, maybe two. Would be fun if you went for Devine, Gelhardt, to reunite them at Wigan with Hughes and Tickle. It was great of you to keep them for the whole rebuild.
these are my favorite videos kev! these hour long rebuilds I can watch start to finish and then on the the next team. Maybe do this once a week? Obviously NLTL comes first! All the love to ya!
My favourite part of this is getting in Wober and Roca "because they know how to stay in the Premier League" when they were instrumental in the real life relegation in 2023 😂
I started watching football back in 2010 Wigan were a great side back then with Hugo rodallega up front I have been to Wigan once as a neutral the town wasn't great but the stadium was very nice. Wigan v Blackburn October 2017😏
I just started a Stevenage save in League 1. There are a multitude of talented players who are unattached and eager to sign on a free. Transfer money is unnecessary in League 1.
Great video! I'm curious if having Hughes as captain meant that he got picked to start more. He wasn't in the best 11 for years, but then was playing the vast majority of matches.
I would love to see you do a rebuild with my team millwall Ageing squad Very little money Never been in the prem Came close many times Would be great to see
Spoilers As a wigan fan if I could make one thing be true from this video, it would be Charlie hughes and Sam Tickle staying for ten years... never going to happen though!
Wigan Athletic's story is that far fetched you wouldnt believe it was even real - 🔵 Dave Whelan takes over in 1995, annpunces the team will be in the Premiership in ten years, even the local press laugh at him, 🔵 Wigan Rugby League has financial issues. Reach out to Whelan, who proposes to sell Springfield Park, then move both clubs into Central Park and rebuild it - instead, Wigan Rugby sells to Tesco, 🔵 The JJB Stadium is built instead. In the meantime, Adidas botched a lit launch, which infuriates DW, so he buys Patrick for £1, 🔵 Wigan does make it to the Premier League under Paul Jewell. The former Wigan player however quits, because it is revealed that he's involved in a sex scandal 🔵 A couple of half decent seasons culminate in a great escape under Roberto Martinez, who wins the FA Cup and leaves for Everton, 🔵 A merry-go-round of managers ends DW's full-time association with the club after he makes silly remarks about Chinese people. 🔵 David Sharpe became the ypungest ever chairman of a football club, and Will Grigg was indeed on fire. Defences were terrified. 🔵 International Entertainment Corporation takes over. They promise a lot. The club starts spending money again. 🔵 Paul Cook's latics beat Manchester City in the FA Cup. Guardiola has a meltdown. Ex Latic player Paul Cook and grisled vet Graham Barrow put him in his box. 🔵 IEC sells to Next Leader Fund. Despite the club being solvent, Au Yeung Wai Kay sends the club into administration. He threatens to liquidate Wigan Athletic if they aren't. 🔵 A fan confronts Rick Parry - He tells of a gambling debt. The club was lost on a game of high stakes poker. The previous owners get a Panama Papers level investigation by Latics fans. One of Stanley Choi's mates has a Twitter meltdown after it's pointed out that the fear of flying to see a Wigan match is rubbish. 🔵 Jamie Jones sells his medal to help the club. A fan buys it and gives it him back. Former players from all over the world, such as Antonio Valencia, Hugo Rodallega, Reece James, pledge thousands. 🔵 A few tyre kickers look to buy Wigan. Phoenix 2021, do buy them. They start off well, and Talal al Hammad becomes a hero. 🔵 Leam Richardson and Dr. Jonathan Tobin becomes a hero. They save the life of Charlie Wyke, who had a cardiac arrest. Charlie has a pacemaker fitted and makes his recovery. However, he gets shocked by it during training, and his return gets further pushed back. 🔵 The club becomes another embarrassment after the players do not get paid six times. Kolo Toure became the worst manager in Wigan's history. FA Cup hero Shaun Maloney takes over. 🔵 8pt deduction and into the current season, local billionaire Mike Danson takes over. Practically a recluse, Danson doesn't put any money in.
I just feel like its not realistic for a club to have a turn over of all these players each window for the sake of having new players. And having like 3 or 4 potential starters not in the squad every week is also silly. Justice for solari ionita leaburn etc
As a Wigan fan, the last few years haven’t been particularly great, that being said one of my favourite things about the club is the history of defying the odds and always fighting to the end

didn't even feel like 1hr... the video flowed so well and was engaging.. great job and great story
What a wonderfully concise recap of what has been 4 years of insanity at my club! Looking forward to this! And yes, James Carragher is Jamie's son.
Fantastic rebuild. Loved how you kept Tickle and Hughes at the club. Kev makes a profit on transfers, my goodness 😂

INSANELY GOOD REBUILD
Loved it !
This is what we love about FM exactly how it’s showcased in this hour long video, keep up the good work

Well Mr. Tickle just got a contract extension at Wigan until 2028, so the testimonial is still on the cards IRL!
A fabulous rebuild video. As a Wigan fan it's a pleasure to watch someone make a video about us. We are very much a chaotic overachieving small club. Impressed Tickle and Hughes stayed all that time.

Unexpected treat, feature length episode on a Saturday night, great stuff Kevin, thanks
I'm loving these more long form rebuild videos. Keep it up!
Loved it, definitely wanted to see you taking them to lift a major trophy. But please come back to use with another great series like this one!
loving the pace of these one off weekend episodes kev, excellent work
26.44 You spent how much on a loan deal?? That's Mbappe to Saudi style of deals hahaha
I did a Wigan rebuild... Got them to the prem in 2 years. Won the championship, had the most points in league one but 8pts deduction meant we finished 2nd.
It was epic... Now prepping for first season in the prem.
Really great video. I know this will have taken a lot of effort, but worth it IMO for the feature length episode. Top work Kev.
That tactic was genius 😁 Mugged Luke off there Omega dad 😂 laughed all the way through this 😂 Brilliant as always lads 👏👏👏
40:26 Fully expected a Leo Sayer pun there, but maybe I'm showing my age

This has been a lot of fun, and I'm not even a Wigan fan. I am, however, a huge fan of goalkeepers called Mr Tickle!

Superb intro, great video Kev!
as a latics fan thanks for doing this rebuild up the tics
Leo Shahar? You make me feel like dancing.
Mr Tickle had the career Jack Green could only dream of 😂
Tickle Testimonial. Wonderful
We love mr. Tickle
Pretty good rebuild, but objective of top5 was at least a season away, maybe two. Would be fun if you went for Devine, Gelhardt, to reunite them at Wigan with Hughes and Tickle. It was great of you to keep them for the whole rebuild.
Can't believe I'm about to watch a video for over an hour about a man named Mr. Tickle....
Spending £425 million on Duran's loan is wild. Classic Kev rebuild though!!
these are my favorite videos kev! these hour long rebuilds I can watch start to finish and then on the the next team. Maybe do this once a week? Obviously NLTL comes first! All the love to ya!
Just as i like it, big boys in the back.. Good one Kev.
As a Pompey fan a bit of an update Callum Lang now plays for us
Great videos. I loved how it was over 10 years. Could easily be done over 2 videos.
My favourite part of this is getting in Wober and Roca "because they know how to stay in the Premier League" when they were instrumental in the real life relegation in 2023 😂
I started watching football back in 2010
Wigan were a great side back then with Hugo rodallega up front
I have been to Wigan once as a neutral the town wasn't great but the stadium was very nice.
Wigan v Blackburn October 2017😏
To be fair the year we won the fa cup was the best season ever I wouldn't swap that day for another season in the premier league
26:47 Don't think you meant 425 million to loan a player
1:05:53 Bristol City broke Derby's record of the lowest points total ever in the Premier League history.
You cant stop the save now, you must continue!
Did this save myself won the PL in 5 years, it’s a fun save to do! I got lucky with free agents and selling on for good money
I just started a Stevenage save in League 1. There are a multitude of talented players who are unattached and eager to sign on a free. Transfer money is unnecessary in League 1.
I NEED to see Wigan in Europe! 😂
how am i only seeing this now, anyway thanks for this 👍
Kev that is in fact Jamie carraghers child
Unsure if they are related but it's nice to think they are club icon Tommy Gore and Dan Gore
Great video kev. Love the longer rebuild videos.
Loving the 4minute intro 😊
tommy gore made it to the legends list!!
This was great fun to watch
You had a carabao cup semi final finish that you didn't notice
26:39 that's alot of money for a loan 😳
Remind me to not watch. These while still half asleep when the line "I like a big boy at the back"* is said 🤣🤣🤣
Great video kev! Love a long rebuild
Wonderful video, thanks for making it!
Brilliant watch Kev
Nice rebuild Kev.
i definitely enjoyed it, but i think it might be better split into two 40-minute videos.
Would love to see which other Mr Men played in the tickle testimonial
This is my current save and in 5 seasons we're playing Champions League Football!
Great video! I'm curious if having Hughes as captain meant that he got picked to start more. He wasn't in the best 11 for years, but then was playing the vast majority of matches.
Been waiting for this
Would like to see more of this kind of video. Maybe versus another FM creator.
400 and odd million for a loan is quite a bit to spend Kev
I know this would take forever to make but what about a youth only save at Wrexham?
Loved it! 🎉
9:25 "Charlie Wick" 😭
On FM wigan always go on a free fall
I would love to see you do a rebuild with my team millwall
Ageing squad
Very little money
Never been in the prem
Came close many times
Would be great to see
Tickle Testimonial 😂❤🎉
Suggestion for next one Accrington Stanley never been higher than league 1 where can you get them in 10 seasons
Love this kind of video!
Great video. I do like the rebuilds but keep the let’s play 🎉
Top content kev!!
Longer videos are the way forward , get video Kev!
As a Leeds fan, hearing Kev describe Max Wober and Marc Roca as players who 'know how to stay up in the Premier League' made me throw up a little.
Yea here we go
You should do a reading save
cracking vid wd
how do u sim the hole season? u going to holydays or there is some skin/mode? i do know about the sim match but not for the hole season
You beat Everton in the play-off final, but next season, when you survived in the Premier League, Everton were relegated in last place?
This need some explaining yes :)
It wasn't Everton he beat in the play off final it was Southampton. He just made a mistake saying Everton. They got promoted in 2nd.
Out of curiosity, did you use the find player screen and real world knowledge for the transfers or non-league to legend style out of habit?
I never use the player search screen in any of my saves. Or type in player names to find.
Fun video!! Thanks for
Spoilers
As a wigan fan if I could make one thing be true from this video, it would be Charlie hughes and Sam Tickle staying for ten years... never going to happen though!
Had to do this in a few segments haha
Kev did you fix the TV money from the last experiment?
Hour long video about my team! Some cut in that Vince mcmahon falling out of his chair gif
1:14:15 how the hell did bournemouth get in the champions league 😂
How do you sim games is it just by going on holiday?

I thought this was fantastic
“Holloway leads Wigan to Premier League” ?? 51:40
I just feel like its not realistic for a club to have a turn over of all these players each window for the sake of having new players. And having like 3 or 4 potential starters not in the squad every week is also silly. Justice for solari ionita leaburn etc
Would like 5 years more or until Hughes and tickle give up football
So you can fail ffp but as long as you get promoted there are no implications....how wrong is that
Whats the tactic you used?
Wigan's a rugby town, what football club? Actually, I think the Warriors share a stadium with some pub team, but no one watches them
Please rebuild leeds back into a champions league team.
