Honestly one of the best movies I have ever seen. His performance was jaw dropping and was played to perfection. He’s insanely talented and I’m glad he got a role that will give him the recognition he deserves.
Austin is NOT your average "impersonator" but his performance is an embodiment of Elvis' essence. He is not trying to imitate Elvis knowing that this would lead to a caricature. And we have seen too many of that. We have been widness of the destuction of a legacy turning Elvis into a joke, a Las Vegas Wedding prop. This movie will make this injustice undone.
If there was a way to explain, and to your point Seewhatis, there are thousands of imitators out there, Baz cast an actor, one that already had pedigree, as an actor, and created a movie, detailing Presleys influences in music, and dug deep into an era where people viewed things a certain way, when this artist came around he became the true rebel that no one had ever seen before. An artist that would change the face of music, and would become a veritable influence to future musical artists. The work of Baz to cast Austin for the role and not an imitator or tribute artist, and tell that story the way he did is totally brilliant, and worthy of multiple oscars
I have to say I was shocked to learn that Austin did the singing. Incredible. Elvis had a distinct voice, very powerful, soulful and Austin captured it. I know there are impersonators out there but to perform such a wide range is amazing. If reincarnation is possible, well who knows. Elvis may have been reborn.
Whoa!! I'm in awe of this. It was like watching a young Elvis himself doing an audition. Imagine being in that room & witnessing that kid literally become the king... chills
He did all the 50's singing. Then they blended their voices. Austin doesn't know where his voice left off and Elvis's began. He never asked and Baz didn't tell him
This may be a weird takeaway but I honestly hope this movie creates a soft American cultural shift back to the fashion, and musical era of the 1950s-60s. Austin’s performance as Elvis is so incredibly legendary! I’m in a constant state of awe when I see him in costume, immersed in the complex character, and accompanied by those powerful vocals! It’s all just so good! 🙌👑
Any future, or even current, Elvis impersonators will FOREVER be compared to Austin the Magnificent, and to their detriment. He doesn't impersonate; Austin channels Elvis. He has the stage looks, voice, and moves (yowzah!!), but Austin also shows the personal side: the sadness at so many losses; the secret thoughts of achieving greatness and then deciding he won't be remembered; his physical fury at Col. Parker in the scene with Vernon, and his cold eyes staring through Parker from the stage; his initial happiness with 'Cilla; and so on. Austin Butler shows us every emotion, something Rami can only dream of doing. Austin's first leading role should get him his first Academy Award.
I would love that. I miss real instruments and raw talent. I miss real dancing that doesn’t include being almost fully naked in a music video. But sadly I don’t think we’ll ever go back to a time like that. We can hope and pray
I just saw the film and he NAILED playing Elvis. Completely forgot he was an actor for a second and it felt like I was watching Elvis perform in a movie. He was perfect for that role, I can’t imagine anyone else who could’ve played Elvis more convincingly than Austin.
I’ve never been a huge Elvis fan, though I don’t deny his incredible talent. I’ve never been so captivated by a film before such as this; then suddenly wrapped up in researching and watching original footage of the The King. Austin did an amazing job- I really think he should have won an Oscar. Incredible how one film can change your whole perspective about something.
Austin was amazing -- tons of charisma too. But once you see the real Elvis footage from the early days Austin pales next to the incandesence of th real Elvis. That is no knock on Austin who was magical In fact it is a compliment that he made you believe he was Elvis despite the real Elvis.
Being someone who loves Elvis, like many of us, I’m so critical of Elvis impersonators. Watching Austin, I’m blown away. He fully immersed his heart and soul into this. You can feel the energy Austin has running through him. No one can compare to our Elvis, but Austin seems like he merged souls! I’m sure Austin’s mom is smiling so big right now, and beyond proud. Thank you Austin for doing the King justice!

Amazing film, I plan on watching it one more time in theatre thanks to his performance.
When Austin was first cast, I was doubtful. With how he resembles Elvis physically. But in reflection he def has that androginys look. The way he embodied Elvis style, charisma, and look. Just finished watching ELVIS, and I gotta say, it was like watching the president himself. Austin is a darn good actor, he got some of us sobbling like babys. Hopefully he takes home all the awards, he played elvis so naturally 👏🏼👏🏼
Same, I wish Austin had more lines than Tom Hanks though
I agree. Beautiful film
The man has charisma just like Elvis did. Damn. Now I really cannot wait to see the movie
Dont want to talk too soon, can this movie eclipse all other movie releases ?? The star wars and all other blockbusters ?? We will have to see..
Same here
Movie was great, watched it last night and I recommend for you to go watch it Austin Butler embodied Elvis, played Elvis great, moves like him, sounds like him, talks like him, etc etc, the guy killed it
@@youngtruth9563 just got back from seeing it. Omg it is spectacular. Have a ticket for tomorrow again. Because no one will be as good as Austin portraying Elvis. It us made for the movies too. No way will it be as good on a tv
Movie was amazing 👌🏻
IYKYK.. my jaw absolutely dropped the moment he started singing..
It's him all naked without any camera effects angles or nothing just a test totally pure... Crazy that he can be this good and this was in 2019 before the break they had i think so he probably got even better with time
I honestly don’t think there’s any combination of words I could use to accurately convey how blown away I am by this. Feels like watching real footage of musicians having a jam session. Austin makes every second of this feel genuine & I’m stunned. Outstanding.
Going to be watching this on repeat.
Why? He looks nothing like Elvis.
@@Noyb.265 I couldn't disagree with you more there. Does he look exactly like Elvis? no, because no one does. But he looks enough like Elvis to pull it off. And even if you don't think he does, his voice and his dancing and his mannerisms and the soul he's putting into the performance are more than enough to make up for it. I feel like that's what is most important.
This will be a smash.. this guy, best actor.. hands down.. i tried looking away, swear it was Elvis.. MAN !!
You crazy
@@danielupsdell2697 look, everyone has their opinion, so far by the reviews this movie is getting and of the ones that saw it (the Presleys to add) it is a portrayal of the King. This guy is an excellent actor, and that is what an actor is supposed to do, transport you into another dimension, and embody the character of that person. And that he did superbly
Also singing which is quite impressive and amazing.
I can play and sing at the same time. People tell me that I'm really good. But even I know it's not hard to do, and I'm not actually that good compared to the majority of people that can ay and sing at the same time. It's just 3 cords
@@ry-man4354 His voice is amazing tho, literally closest thing to an elvis performance in 2022 that's why it is impressive and not that he can play and sing.
@@ferdinand9555 name 3 singers that you would consider "amazing"☝️
@@ry-man4354 he's talking about singing like Elvis
Honestly one of the best movies I have ever seen. His performance was jaw dropping and was played to perfection. He’s insanely talented and I’m glad he got a role that will give him the recognition he deserves.
Definitely one of my favorite films I’ve ever seen!!!!
What an amazing performance... You rock Austin Butler. Elvis would be so proud of you.
Very well said
Absolutely.
110% in agreement; very well articulated.👍👍
@@theelvisappreciator11 this guy is a fruit cake I can't stand him he is no man this is a disgrace you people don't know any better tcb😢😢😢😢
this dude embodied elvis, mannerisms, vocals, look, everything, he nailed it. all the generations of elvis.
THEY USED ELVIS IN MOST OF THE SONGS. AUSTIN DID A GOOD JOB THOUGH
Whoa!! I'm in awe of this. It was like watching a young Elvis himself doing an audition. Imagine being in that room & witnessing that kid literally become the king... chills
No way
He did all the 50's singing. Then they blended their voices. Austin doesn't know where his voice left off and Elvis's began. He never asked and Baz didn't tell him
My mouth literally dropped when I watched this footage. I actually feel like I am watching Elvis. It's so uncanny. So can't wait to watch this movie!
Austin's first leading role should get him his first Academy Award.
doubt a movie alone would be able to do this but an artist who goes back to making real music like this most definitely could
Me too. I saw this movie opening day and was amazed.
@@aussietalks6642 Selena did this with ease, to this day, people are still copying her 90’s fashion, we are literally in it right now
I would love that. I miss real instruments and raw talent. I miss real dancing that doesn’t include being almost fully naked in a music video. But sadly I don’t think we’ll ever go back to a time like that. We can hope and pray
Austin has a beautiful smile
I remember Elvis, this kid is AMAZING.I got chills watching this movie.Really took me back in time!
I just saw the film and he NAILED playing Elvis. Completely forgot he was an actor for a second and it felt like I was watching Elvis perform in a movie. He was perfect for that role, I can’t imagine anyone else who could’ve played Elvis more convincingly than Austin.
He deliberately avoided the "Thank you, thank you verrmuch"!
Austin Butler is taken us back in a time machine. Wonderful.
He said in a interview that while he was doing this, he was trying to connect to Elvis's soul
Such a talented young man
I’ve never been a huge Elvis fan, though I don’t deny his incredible talent.
Hey guys.. Just want to wish this talented handsome young talented man a very happy birthday 🎂..hope you have a great day Austin..always from NZ
i cannot get over how perfect he was for this, i know for a fact elvis was watching the whole process and with him the whole way
Goosebumps! I don't think I've heard anyone else sound this close to Elvis.
His mom was an Elvis fan and she passed away when Austin was 23, the same age Elvis lost his mom.
My God, he was electrifying in this movie. I am still stunned. Magnificent.
STUNNING!!!! he is so sooo talented.
Mind blown I’m a huge Elvis fan AUSTIN NAILED IT IN EVERY WAY
Omgoodness he did such an amazing job in the movie. I hope he wins an award for it!
I will not lie and say I didn’t scoff when I heard he got the roll. Im now eating every word, choking them down actually. He KILLED this and every other clip I’ve seen to. Im very impressed.
Am in love with this man after watchin Elvis. They couldn't have picked anyone better.
I bet even Elvis himself would say that boy is good! It’s amazing really! Every award that could possibly be received should all go to Austin👍❤️😍😍
When I first saw the trailer I thought it’d be a disaster but I still looked forward to seeing it in theaters because I love seeing what an actor has to bring to the table. And let me tell you Austin brought an entire thanksgiving dinner and then some with his performance. He has all my respect, he really channeled Elvis. Amazing film, I plan on watching it one more time in theatre thanks to his performance.
I can't wait to hear Austin's humble, grateful and emotional speech at the Oscar with that statuette in his hand.
I became a Elvis Presley fan a big thanks to Austin butler ❤❤❤ this men totally dersurves a oscar
I am so proud of Austin after seeing that im sure this movie will be incredible
There's no such thing as a watchable Baz Luhrmann movie.
@@Noyb.265 The Great Gatsby is really good.
When Austin was first cast, I was doubtful. With how he resembles Elvis physically. But in reflection he def has that androginys look. The way he embodied Elvis style, charisma, and look. Came across as an authentic portrayl. Opposed to an imitation. The way he nailed his tone vocally was uncanny. It was a incredible performance.
I'm sure his Mom is looking down with complete pride with what this dude has accomplished with the role. Just with all the clips I've seen he just nailed in every way . I'm a tennessean as well so growing up here Elvis was Never not a part in our lives I'm 34 and don't remember him not being in our House hold. Prince is my number 1 Artist, but Elvis, and I try and tell this to my Wife this, I just have a connection with this guy, I feel most Southern men have a little Elvis in them especially if he was a part of your parents soundtrack.
Wow, you’re 34 and felt this way? Tennessean here also, but I’m 66 and was around when he was. LOVED HIM!
@@annbrowning9697 Yes Ma'am my Mom's is a Superfan I guess I am too. She use to put me to bed with his cds playing in the background, So I really didn't have a choice.....lol. But with all I read and watched on the man I feel like I know the guy. We're taking my Mom to see the Movie tonight she's so excited I told my wife back in the winter I have to go opening weekend!
As soon as I heard him sing my jaw dropped to the floor. Just give him every damn award there is already.
Just wow.
What? I didn’t realize he actually sang in the movie 😮 I assumed they used actual recording of Elvis or a really good impersonator. That’s incredible!
I read they mixed a bit, his voice with the real Elvis
he sang for the scenes where Elvis was younger, but as the character got older, they used Elvis’ real voice.
They did use a really good impersonator. It’s called an actor, and his names Austin butler.
The attitude and the fact that he looked like he was digging the music so much! It's really mesmerizing.
Austin was Flawless playing Elvis. 👏👏👏👏
He has to win an Oscar for his role.
I would happily watch this film everyday for the rest of my life if I could. I even remember thinking about it for months after. Everyone was cast so perfectly and Austin’s performance was impeccable. It’s eerie how much he can draw you in to the role. Baz and the team done such a wonderful job. Thank you for one of the best films that has been produced!!!
Austin Butler's career is forever set for great success. He did a terrific job playing Elvis and if he continues putting the same amount of work into his other rolls as he has always done, then he will become one of the greatest actors in history.
What a incredibly talented young man
Austin Butler already won an oscar in everybodys heart, having the courage to play Elvis Presley to show to the world, who Elvis is, also to the younger generations to go back in time to know that Elvis, is a grandma, grandpa's era, is their parent's era & is timely that the younger generation see how the fashion of the past, compare to now, the differences, the hair style, the clothings & the legend lives on, Elvis Presley 🙏🧡✝️😌
My God, Austin!!!!! You just rocked my world!!
I know Butler is gonna win best actor this year! He killed it in Elvis!! He definitely deserves it!
His face may not look like Elvis's, but there's this strange feeling. Like, he feels like him
This should be the Oscars opening performance !!! And a standing ovation!!
took my grandmother to see this movie and she couldn't keep still, she was floored by Austin's performance. afterward she reminded me of the one time she reached out for Elvis and barely grazed his arm, she said she was very popular at school until she washed her hand.
🤣
That really sounds like Elvis’s voice coming through Austin
I'm amazed by this performance. It doesn't feel impersonating, but original.
Im also impressed...way more than any impersonator!
I'm smiling hard asf like I'm really watching Elvis. That's how you know, you played a role to perfection. And I haven't even seen the movie yet & I know it's Oscar worthy.
Seen it yesterday, and whatever problems there may be with the film, Austin isn't one of them.
this guy is amazing he managed to capture the essence and charisma of elvis his version of that's allright mama is amazing it sounds like a recording session in sun records studios
I have never gone to a cinema watched a movie with a compulsive desire to re watch it , let alone 9 times! OSCORS GALLORE FOR ELVIS THE MOVIE IS SENSATIONAL BRILLIANT AWESOME SPECTACULAR!
This dude and his Elvis-Perfomance are literally stuck in my head for several days in a row now…
Austin Butler is sooo great.
Elvis would love him.
I have listened to the original recordings of Elvis since the early 80s....have them in many of my mixes etc....and this kid is something else. Of course he's not ELVIS....nobody is. But the sound, and clarity, the enthusiasm, the voice, has me watching this all the way through. Well done young man.
He was made for this role. Both him and Elvis both lost their moms at the same age. It’s like Elvis picked him personally from the heavens !
This was an unbelievable experience, acting was perfect and he depicted Elvis so well. Words can’t explain how much I love this movie
History in the making right here. A star is born. I have loved Baz's work since R&J. He blew it out of the water with this one! What a masterpiece. And it truly seems like Austin was meant to play this role and all the Disney parts led him here. Can't wait to see what the future holds for him.
He already sounds so good. He can sing. Especially before the training. After the training his voice is spot on. Amazing.
I'm lost for words. Just finished watching the movie. Austin is amazing as Evis. He deserves an Oscar he's soo good.. EXCELLENT
I can watch this all day long. No words can express his performance and those facial expressions are too precious. Fantastic job Austin you owned this. Would love to hear more Elvis songs sung by you. A CD full of your voice would be awesome.
YES!!!! that would be great!!!!!
Man I got a fright when he opened his mouth its like hearing elvis for real
He nailed it!!! Love u Austin Butler!!! What a true blessing u are to this world!
INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE!
Austin Butler will win the Oscar. His performance is mesmerizing
He was just great; so happy for him and all of us who so hope this will be a major hit so as to reward all his hard work which culminated in a week in the hospital the day after they wrapped. In addition hoping that it will bring a whole new generation in to the fold.🙂
This makes me more and more excited...
AUSTIN BUTLER IS ELVIS. THROUGH & THROUGH🎙🎸🏆
how could you not like this expertly done performance
Just been to see this. It was AMAZING!!!! I must have spent the whole last 3rd in tears it was so moving. This boy is perfection in this part. Couldn't have done better and god damn he is hot!!!
It's the soul that we can't get enough of! His energy does something to the electricity of our hearts!!! Which is the soul, the divinity, the source in all of us! I think sound is the vibration of creation!
Which is why music creates joy it's because it is creation! ❤️🔥💗❤️🔥💗 Aho` and so it is!!
Stunning performances all around, so incredible!
I'm blessed to be alive to have witnessed any of it!
I was 6 years old when Elvis died 2.5 weeks after my birthday! My parents got to see Elvis in concert! 💜
Pretty amazing! #INCREDIBLE
Austin Butler did absolutely amazing!! It’s like he was channeling the spirit of Elvis in this movie. He wasn’t acting… he was literally channeling. Everything was on point…. He captured the energy, spirit, the moves, the mannerisms, the way Elvis spoke, the singing , …. Just everything! I’ve never seen another actor or singer be so spot on before.
I LOVED ELVIS ! It was a Fantastic 🎬 movie. AUSTIN BUTLER IS ELVIS. I'd never heard of him until this movie . Elvis would be proud 👏. 🎼🎸🎙🎵 !!!!
I can't stop watching and listening to Austin's performances, he is truly mesmerizing, absolutely magnetic.
Elvis gave his all on stage, and Austin gave his all performing as Elvis performing on a stage.
Can’t wait to see this film in theaters! #Elvis
I was not expecting him to sound JUST LIKE ELVIS!!
Austin was born to bring Elvis to the screen! this is wonderful!
I am glad they made this movie, I didn't really know what happened to him. Now I get the hype
UNBELIEVABLE.
Thank God this movie is releasing here in Bangladesh. Can't wait to watch it, this movie is meant to be watched in the biggest screens!
