    You must also lowered front tree for apropriate stance geometry.

    I'm stoked I found your vid. I have the 300L Australia so led and ABS. I'm too short when off road so this is going to make riding enjoyable. I've dropped over X2 dozen + lol. Enjoy your bike bro

    Glad there's something like this for you vertically challenged bros! I was very confused why anyone would want to lower their bike... Being 6'2" most bikes I am fully flat footed on, totally forgot it may be difficult for some!

      Well if I am not mistaken I believe here in the states men over 6ft are like less than 15% of the population so this really does not pertain to those with height, so that leaves quite a few people who need a little help.lol

    Interesting video !
    You should lower your front forks to compensate for the lowering links.
    That will make it even better for you.
    There should be some videos on you tube to explain the procedure.
    Make sure you have a good quality socket or spanner to loosen the pinch bolts as they are not fantastic quality.

    Very interesting that Honda didn't grease the linkage. I've ordered a 22 model CRF Rally so I'll be checking that straight away! Thanks for the heads up!👍

    • @swampfoxmoto5959
      @swampfoxmoto5959  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea none of it had grease. I use the Lucas red and tacky. Also chase any threads of body bolts you unbolt with a tap. The quality if the tapped holes are not great, esp if you are taking off plastics and putting on a rear rack.

    • @swampfoxmoto5959
      @swampfoxmoto5959  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it was JDM Honda it would be greased, there are a few quality issues, like make sure you run a tap through threads and clean bolts you take off to put bolt ones like racks and skid plates. the steel frame threaded holes seem to be the biggest problem, wanting to cross thread.

    Did you lower the bike by moving the front shocks up in the triple trees to re level the motorcycle ?

    • @swampfoxmoto5959
      @swampfoxmoto5959  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes i moved them as far up as i could without hitting the bar. It also really got some of the over 60 wobble out of it on the HWY, allowing for more weight in the front wheel.

    What's the inseam of your pants? Mine is 30" and at 180lbs I don't think my feet will touch the ground

      @@swampfoxmoto5959 Look at my other question in the comments please. Basically the same but you gave two different answers. In one you are 5'5" with a 29" inseam in the other your 5'5" with a 36" inseam. I put a deposit on the 2021 CRF300L and I bet money more than likely my feet won't touch the ground and I'm heavier than you. I'll know your inseam when I sit on it.

    • @swampfoxmoto5959
      @swampfoxmoto5959  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@not1au That was someone else talking about inseam. Weight is key if you under 5’7 and how low its sits, and to know how to get on a dirtbike your should be fine, once you jump on a let the suspension settle it sits down. I was riding just fine just propped on one leg before the lowering link. Adventure bikes are over 10k+ and weigh well over 400lbs. A Lowering link and shave the seat, the height is a learning curve, but is not like a horse. Lol the key is to step on the peg, kickstand side throw over the leg and be fine. When you park it kickstand out left foot on peg shift weight left move right leg over and your off. I am disabled with a bad neck and back, I am very limited in a lot of motion but I get by, do not give up before you try it.

      @@not1au ok for some reason i was not translating inseam in my brain. But yea with flat shoes 30” long jeans fit me fine. With a pair of boots I get a solid inch or two in height. Stay tuned I will do a video today with me getting on, and off the bike with my timberlands on, and if i remember my tennis shoes its just really hot today, so be patient.

    How much did the link change the ride?

    • @swampfoxmoto5959
      @swampfoxmoto5959  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not seen any difference so far still handles very well. I have thrown it around curves and still fell very confident if not more so! I am over 200 so I it may bottom out on a big dip off road but I really kind of doubt it, it does have a bump stop afterall, I think it will be ok but I am still breaking it in; just want to wait before I put a lot of low speed heat into it while it is breaking in. I think after a seat shave and a shock spring change it will be perfect, may even be able flat foot it depending on how brave I get shaving it. I just bought and extra seat to experiment with shaving and putting a little softer foam in, as well to get the best of a shave and a softer seat.

    • @swampfoxmoto5959

      I am able to get both front balls of my feet to touch with tennis shoes on and I am 5’5 about 29-30’ jean length. I am in the process of shaving a seat to see how much better I can get it.

    • @swampfoxmoto5959
      @swampfoxmoto5959  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roger2276 yea I would even plan on a rear shock and spring upgrade, the street driving is great but I can see with aggressive trail riding and if you are over 170 you will bottom it out with a jump or bad bump, but not dangerous if that makes and sense. After I get a little money I may go with the YSS setup good for up the 105kg. I will shave my seat a little as well.

    • @not1au
      @not1au 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recently sat on a 2021 KLX 300SM with a seat height of 33.9 with a 30" inseam the tips of my boots barely touched. I know the suspension might be softer on the 2021 CRF 300L but 34.7 is still taller than 33.9. The worst part about your feet not being firmly planted isn't so much in a stationary stopped position but coming to a stop. Gravel, mud, pavement that isn't level and other drivers that don't know you have to do a routine when the light turns green are things that need to be taken into account. When the one I have on hold comes in I'll see how I feel about getting on and off but I'm not going to pay MSRP plus all the dealerships fees just to throw more money to make it able to ride safely on the streets.

      @@roger2276 I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam and my toes won't touch. It's not your height that matters it's the distance from your crouch to your feet. Your inseam.
