      @@greywolf7577 judges have final say but a legal deck needs cards that are essentially identical except for the printing on their one unique side; where a notched or slightly thicker card, or say a bunch of tiny card-pieces would obviously be identifiable within a deck such as to allow for cheating. E.g. you could feel a slightly thicker good card while shuffling your deck and choose to move it to the top of your deck.
      Funny enough the process by which WOTC produces shiny "Foil" cards often causes warping/curling of those cards (the community term is "Pringling" for reasons I hope are self-evident) so these official and supposedly premium collectibles often cause disqualifications for the same reason.

    Um Actually Shibhon, Deep Space Nine has a Transfemale Bisexual character in the form of Jadzia Dax (who almost gets together with a lover from a previous incarnation while they're both in female bodies) and had an episode where Quark has a temporary sex change (though that is admittedly handled poorly), and TNG had 2 particularly gay moments. One where Riker falls in love with a non-agender-member of an agender species and one where Crusher falls in love with another Trill and breaks up with them after an accident requires them to change bodies into a female (which again, is handled poorly but at least they were trying. Not bad for the 1980s)

      Actually this isn't true, the SCOTUS ruling doesn't change how electors are appointed it just stated that states are allowed to enforce laws against faithless electors meaning the electors have to vote in the way states tell them rather than their own free choice. Appointment of electors remains entirely based upon state governments appointing them rather than being elected by voters.

    • @timmyhkvt
      @timmyhkvt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@weareanonymous353 This is also not true. State governments have no role in selecting electors. Parties choose who will be on their slates for the presidential election, and voters absolutely do go to the polls to vote for their electors.

    • @weareanonymous353
      @weareanonymous353 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timmyhkvt Only in current practice, not in law. The constitution allows states to choose electors in any manner they like. This is why 48 states appoint a panel of electors from the party that wins the state votes but Maine and Nebraska set aside a portion of their electors to the party that wins their congressional seats. Many states are also considering a proposal to appoint electors based on National Popular Vote rather than their own state vote as currently done.

    • @timmyhkvt
      @timmyhkvt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@weareanonymous353 No, they don't. The states don't appoint electors. Let's use an example here, to cut down on the vagueness. In 2020, the Democratic Party of Massachusetts selected eleven people to serve as electors, in the (very likely) event that Biden won the state. The Republican Party of Massachusetts did the same. More Massachusetts voters selected the slate of Democratic electors pledged to vote for Biden, and so a month and change later those eleven people went to Boston, and each cast one vote for Joe Biden as President and one vote for Kamala Harris as Vice President. The election is winner-take-all because the Massachusetts legislature decided it should be, quite some time ago, but that's the extent of their involvement in the process. State employees run the election, but they have no role in choosing electors beyond that of any voter.
      You are correct about the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, though I'm not sure even that would qualify as appointing electors, since states would be choosing a slate rather than deciding specifically who would be doing the job.

    Um, actually, I'm a Constitutional lawyer and I can tell you members of the electoral college ARE elected. The candidates are appointed by the party's nominee for President and then when you vote for that nominee on paper, it counts as a vote for their slate of electors. They are absolutely elected. I know someone who was an elector in 2020. She was elected when my state voted for Joe Biden. Although no states do this anymore, their names used to actually appear on the ballot. Now, you have to find the slate published elsewhere to get their names (the National Archives publishes it), but they are still elected.
