Yes, recent as of 6.24.23. The trail was open, but the road almost to the lake was blocked by snow. Bummer because I was really looking forward to that switchback by the lake.
2WD trucks tear up the trails in those conditions. Not sure of your experience level but would suggest an off road driving class and learn basic spotting techniques. Telling a driver to go, go, go is as confusing as multiple people waving hand signals to the driver. One person gives spotting directions. Real simple, 'Driver' or' Passenger'. That way the driver knows to turn his wheel to the driver side or passenger side.
I’ve always wanted to spend a night at that spot but it’s always taken when I’ve gone. Looks like you all had a great time! Hope to get out there soon
