A great lesson ( the bit about the strum pattern could have been clearer but it sorted itself out) and this is a great simple version even if you've been playing for years. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback Chris, you're welcome. Sorry if the strum pattern part wasn't great, this was unrehearsed and unscripted. Note: I have a bunch of other lessons in my tutorial playlist, using some newer & varied formats. Peace, Jim.....
Wow that was great!! I started to play guitarr for 2 month ago and I wanted so badly learn how to play this song and no one of the other tutorials were good a all.. But yours were really great, thank you so much! :) You deserve millions of views ;)
Thanks Marius! Greetings from New York, USA. I recently recorded a new cover too, I think you'll like it and it shows the final result of the lesson. It is in the below link. Peace, Jim Bruce Springsteen acoustic cover, "I'm on Fire"
Glad to help.....I too find so many lessons too hard, or people don't sing along so it's hard to follow. I try to do lessons that are achievable with minimal frustration. Peace, Jim...
rkaos1987 I am such a beginner, such a novice, but I've made a lot of progress... working on my own cover of this one. thanks very much to this extremely well done tutorial ! Been listening to some of your original stuff and digging it too !!
Keith Dozier thanks again, my originals have become as rewarding as learning any songs. Keep at the guitar, it's fun. I still adopt simpler methods, even after 13 years of playing. You can be content and not become an expert. Quite simply, if you can play songs, you've succeeded! Peace, Jim
Keith Dozier no problem.....yes, record it and upload, then send to me. Hey, I sucked for a few years but you gotta' go through the learning phase. You'll get better and better for sure!!
You can strum right through, with no pause. Strum the D,D,U,U,D,U.....three times in this section (once for C, once on D, and once on G). You sing the proper word on the first downstroke of the pattern. So, say the "Oohhhhhhhh" for the full strum pattern of C, then change to D chord for the second "Ohhh" along with singing the "I'm On"........(still on the D chord). You change to the G chord on the word "Fire". I hope this helps. Cheers, Jim :)
was für eine schöne Stimme!
Thanks. Here is me playing it recently, 11 years later 😉

When it comes to the oh I'm on fire (c,d,g) is the strum pattern disrupted ?
