I have studied comedians for many years. No one had the comedic timing that Larry had. He said so little as far as jokes, but the stories, pauses, the asides were legendary. He could warm a crowd and be loved in moments he walked on stage. I am a massive fan of Larry and have read all I can about him. Not one person ever had a bad word about him. He still went in his local until his sad death. He came up through Social Clubs and was a regular at the local miners club. For an openly gay man to go down a storm with such a rough masculine crowd in those days was huge. I miss this guy every day and still howl at his comedy. A truly lovely kind and gentle man. God bless him.
As a kid I loved Larry Grayson on the Generation Game he was (and still is) a national treasure. It’s now 2024 and again I’m laughing with wonderful Larry Grayson and at the same time I’m so sad at how we used to be and have fallen so far. If you remember lovely Larry Grayson then you are a legend.
Two of our finest entertainers and both genuinely nice people unlike some of the two-faced 'performers' on our screens today. They interact with such ease, no pushing or probing. Greatly missed.
My all-time favourite Larry Grayson line was from the Generation Game with Isla St Clair. She blew on a huge Didgeridoo, making a loud & very low-pitched sound, not unlike someone violently breaking wind. Larry looked at the audience and said: "You know, she hasn't been well all day."
I've just bought that book he mentions - Grayson's War. It's full of all his friends - Slack, Everard, etc. Laugh out loud funny. What an amazing and wonderful man he was. Real wit, and razor sharp timing.
The audience find him funny, because in those days people were shocked at someone being so outspoken. Whereas today, the majority of people are so vile to one another with their foul language and insults. People like Larry would be totally shocked. And yet so many people today claim to be so offended by older humour.
Today's so called comedians should take note of how real comedy brilliance sounds.
R.I.P Larry and Des.❤
There are plenty of modernn comedians who are good. There's no need to compare them. Larry Grayson was wonderful.

Des couldnt get a word in, Larry just took over and is hysterical. very few comedians of this calibre, may he RIP
If the audience laughs before he gets a word out that’s a real comedian!

I'm in my 60s and its good to have a laugh at a comedy legend.
Brilliant, half the population today remembers this guy - can't we have old chat shows on tv like this instead of all the utter shite they put out?
Larry Grayson one of the Biggest Losses of TV. Went far too early. RIP.😢
I watch these two fantastic performers, and I yearn for the simple old days💙
