this one is actually hilarious
I died
"I think it's just to show I have other interests outside of work"
"Why?"
Too real, man
And then if you don’t add that in they go “Idk it looks like you really don’t have a life outside of work :/“
tf u mean bruh it doesnt matter what you do outside of work to your employer because its irrelevant to the job
@@KicksPregnantWomen You're not wrong, and it shouldn't matter. However, I had read him saying "why?" as "why do you have interests outside of work?", not as "why did you include that?", though I can see it being read either way
@@DeathnoteBB If you don't have a life outside of work that is perfect for most companies. In fact they'd like you to just work from when you get up to when you go to sleep. The real trick is to put something relevant under hobbies. So I am a software developer so I say I'm working on making a video game in my spare time which gives them the impression that I like development so much that I go home and go do some development.
@@matthewtalbot-paine7977 You’d think but I heard that could make the hirer assume you’re boring and won’t get along with everyone else socially! It’s really a toss-up, I guess.
I love how male joel is the only one not breaking character
i think cus he was filmed separately from femalejoel and chester
I think it's because he's not playing a character
He’s just more professional.
Except for the last bit
5:00
I love how he's got a fake tape mustache over his actual mustache
I love how he pulled it off to breathe on it.
It's not real? 😳
Thats because the girl doesnt have a fake mustache so the real mustache is indeed not real.
@@Krondelo we're living in a simulation
How could we possibly distinguish him from the blonde woman otherwise?
WOMAN. GIVE ME MY POTATO.
Sorry Janice, you know how I get with... Men.

That a whole synopsis bru.
That title made me sleepy.
It exists, it is also known as Tristan Shandy
Goddamn it has no business making sense
Looks like a modern anime title.
It took me a minute to realise that this guy wasn't prepared for the questions you asked him at all. 😂
yep, thats not how you turn up to a job interview
i miss your ytp's
Let's plot a course.
INTERCOURSE
@@caprimann87 this is new information for me
Lol, I like your Luca Blight pfp.
I was actually chuckling at the part "you seem to have a specific history of killing at least 200 hundred people in your previous jobs". This skit is just so stupid it's actually funny.
My damn favorite part. Can not laugh.
"200? Sorry I meant 250". *Laughs Uproariously*
i'm pressing the like button over and over watching it go from 999 to 1k
"Do you have a different copy, perhaps?" is one of the funniest lines that could have been said between the mayhem of that whole conversation.
two hundred hundred
Finding this channel was like finding a goldmine. I'm glad sketch comedy seems to have a bit of a resurgence lately.
joel is a blessing
makes you wonder how many other great channels are out there
@@caprimann87 value select is one of my favorites. Wizards with guns is pretty underrated too
@@caprimann87 Second that. Go watch value select
This is all improv, there’s no script. That’s why they “break character”.
The way you rubbed your eyes through your glasses. the way you fogged them up and didn't wipe them. the way you left in the laughter at just the right points. This is the epitome of "criminally underrated." my god, this is impeccable. literally pissed my wife's pants
Um...a couple questions, Daniel... Were you wearing your wife's pants at the time? Or did you grab them out of the dresser, closet, or off of the stair master and then piss on them? Or did you intentionally approach her, whip it out and proceed to sprinkle her khakis? I...I just need to know for some reason. I don't want to know. But I must know!
@@rachelgonzalez8051 this man is asking the questions, and we need answers
Its relevant to ask: why would you piss your wifes pants?
@@rachelgonzalez8051 how boutchyou shut up and mind your beeswax, Rachel

Me, thinking this sketch was scripted.
"It says here you assassinated the US ambassador to Guatamala"
(Struggles to improvise) "I... yes. I killed him."
Well, now that I think about it, I guess I can’t talk about that.
A yes and... followed by a no
He literally says "why is my character killing everybody?"
“seems to me”
“yes?”
“200 out of 100,00?”
“yeah”
“really not that many”
“yeah exactly”
Shamelessly laughing at all of these deaths. Incredible confidence and a piercing sense of humor. I hope you hired him.
makes the perfect corporate employee
I've had multiple interviews exactly as awkward as this. A lot less murder, though, generally speaking.
so some murder?
@@marlenedietrich2468 An acceptable percentage. Barely worth mentioning, really.
Mine was with more murder, especially more dogs
Same here. I was also there at Miley Cyrus' birthday party and I only killed 87 children. I could learn a thing or two from Wu here.
Generally speaking you say, so that means there where some interviews that presented significantly more murder?
"You should read his memoir, it's... horrible *break*"
his memoirds*
the way the interviewee is like... laughing makes him look like a total psychopath lmao!!! this skit is just too good
I deadass thought it was part of his character to laugh at his murder history until he said "why does my character just murder everybody?" 😂😂😂
I want a series about this guy, this universe, and the chaos it offers
It's called Llamas with Hats!
Yes
You are in that universe.
As soon as he said, "why is my character killing everybody?" Man, I fucking lost it.
I really love how Janice fogged her glasses and just put them right back on.
And how the other interviewer simply reached through the frames of his glasses to rub his eyes lmao like, they didnt even have lenses
I must say, reading "The Days I Remember: the Story of My Life, How I Came to Be Who I am, and How I Came to Leave Behind Who I Was: A Factual Retelling of Every Moment I Have Experienced, Brought to Life Through the Power of Language and into a Novel Format, Part II" was a transformative experience for me! Never before have I seen someone so perfectly capture the existential suffering of a Kafkaesque upbringing, and the ramifications it would have into adulthood. And at a succinct 2,340 pages no less! Wonderful work.
I have to agree with you here. Each page absolutely drenched in emotion, I often found myself so emerged that living vicariously through the author’s impeccable storytelling was nary a choice. My only advice to other readers would be to purchase an industrial grade microscope to aid in the deciphering of what could only be size 0.01 Arial font, but after spending a sizeable part of my life consuming this delicacy of a novel, there is no doubt in my mind that it was all worth it.
Part 1 was better…..just sayin
idk, I feel as though the 30th chapter really just brought the entire memoir into question for me. I mean, who among us has really ridden a tank with such grace to capture the hearts of his fellow ostridge's in the heat of battle? Never has there been such a man in history who could rise to such an occasion as the great ostridge lemur war was at it's peak.
Commenting just to save this beautiful exchange
Under 2500 pages???? Wow! Guy must have been in a hurry. I'll have to check it out, sounds like some light poolside reading I could polish off in an afternoon!
"why is my character killing everybody" I like...how they dont take their sketches like super seriously and are willing to put in the "breaking of the character" in the videos instead of doing retakes... came here from the animated adventure boi...should probably subscribe by now honestly
It's retarded it's trying wayyyy to hard to be "we don't care! Were so cazzhhh!"
The Days I Remember - the story of my life, how I came to be, who I am and how I came to leave behind who I was -- a factual retelling of every moment I've experienced, brought to life, through the power of language and into a novel format: Part II
I love this so much. The best part is you can tell it's improv, so it's happening live, but because he's playing 2 of the 3 characters I can't tell how it was filmed at times lol
He filmed him and the girl version together. And guy version after. That's my guess.
I think it was the guy first and then the girl version and the interviewee at the same time. They kept making each other break
I’m sat here crying with laughter, I come back to this sketch at least a few times a month because I know it’s a guarantee cry-laugh, thank you so much, bloody genius.
Same, Cam. Same
After seeing a lot of Joel’s videos recently, I can honestly say that this one is in my top 3.
The guy laughing at the questions really looks like a psycopath. It’s gold!
Same here!
Yes, absolutely, this is maybe my favorite at all! I had to see it several times to fully understand this amazing sketch.
Agreed!! This one just gets better with each watch :D
You’re making some of the most hilarious content I’ve ever seen on TH-cam
"Must be a German name..." *pans to an Asian face

I love this skit because if you try and break down how it could possibly work, you can’t. Yet it’s hilarious.
"Why is my character killing people?" -interview guy in the middle of the sketch
I laughed so hard at that haha I love it
this skit is such a comfort to me, i honestly keep coming back to it again and again, i really love the vibe you have with each other. and also the vibe u somehow have with yourself
it still cracks me up everytime thankyou
This is your best skit and no one can change my mind.
ive watched this so many times ive lost count
@@ummno4436 at least 200 for me 😛
How does this feel like improv when one person is playing two of the characters?
My theory is it was two separate interviews/costumes that were just stitched together to appear simultaneous
Update, New theory: Joel's secret twin 😳
@@GlobalSingeing Yes, this is so perfectly stitched it looks Joel like has a twin !
Girl Joel and Boy Joel aren't the same person. They look alike cuz they're related; they're married.
Im pretty sure that the interviewer with the moustache was added in afterwards and they just had random clips of the guy reacting to make it seem like they were talking to him cause he never answers any specific questions from him only from the blonde one
@@mythman30 I was watching this and wondering this as well. Your explanation makes a lot of sense, except for the bit at 2:46. It can be done either way, but this is like crazy editing skills.
Also in that question there is no interaction with the woman, so maybe he used both techniques: Two interviews and adding afterwards reusing reaction clips.
I like the mustache over mustache look.
He scratched his eyes through the glasses frame lol
This may be my all-time favorite skit I've ever seen, anywhere.
*The Days I Remember: The Story Of My Life - How I Came To Be, Who I Am, And How I Came To Leave Behind Who I Was*
_A Factual Retelling Of Every Moment I've Experienced, Brought To Life Through The Power Of Language Into A Novel Format_
*Part Two*
I love the blatant character breaking and laughter and how you kept all that great stuff like the interviewee's reactions as he finds out the stuff his character has done. This kind of improv and humour is literally exactly the kind of shit that makes my sides hurt. I can't stop fucking laughing so thank you so much for this
Really killed that interview
I thought he was supposed to be a psychopath in the beginning cause he just cracked up every time he killed something
just happy little accidents
Another Joel Haver classic
Haha this one is another favorite for me
That's a slick mustache
I think this one got the most laughs out of me. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you guys break character whilst concocting this madness
"The Days I Remember: The Story of my Life: How I Came to be Who I am, (and How I Came to Leave Behind Who I Was). A Factual Retelling of Every Moment I've Experienced: Brought to Life Through the Power of Language - and Into a Novel Format: Part Two" - This has New York Times Bestseller written all over it.
i love how this video has different levels of randomness, plus, the “part two” was just impeccable
So right now, I am going through and watching all of your videos. I have already watched like 20 of them they’re amazing. Ever since I subbed to ya at 140k subs last week. And you are currently at 273k.
"why are you juggling.. why would you juggle?"
right off the bat with an absolute banger, and the vid stays hilarious the entire time.
Interviewee’s laughter is probably bc he doesn’t know what joel is reading off the "resume" but it also feels sinister "you killed a dog" and he laughs 😂
I like how you kept your normal voice for Janice, and instead lowered your voice for Peter
Expected this to have over a million views. Haven't had a honest laugh by myself for quite a while, yet this video almost had me in tears! Keep up the good work
i like how you keep in the laughs it kinda makes it even funnier
This is Joels best work. It took me 90 seconds to realize he was playing all the characters. Incredible.
I love how much this bit just falls apart
"How I came to leave behind who I was" as part of a memoir name just kills me
Lmao he rubs his eyes through the lens frames of the glasses!! Omg awesome material.
Definitely my favourite skit of Joel's that I've seen
I think this is my favorite video lol. I send this to my friends whenever they’re interviewing
I laughed so hard at the end it brought a tear to my eye. That hasn't happened in a long time. Thank you!
The fact this is clearly improvised makes it that much better
This is by FAR my favorite vid of yours, I was cry-laughing the entire time
You literally cheer me up when I'm down dude. Thank you
I dunno how many times ive watched this. The energy and dialogue are unmatched
The complete lack of effort to stay in character makes this sketch so much better
"WOMAN! (frustrated pause) GIVE ME MY POTATO!!"... That just killed me. 🤣
The way you incorporate the breaking of the fourth wall, into the context of the skit is brilliant and hilarious!
in the 3 seconds between 0:44 to 0:47, Joel makes the best possible stereotypical interview posture and reference by calling the interviewee- "boy" and the Janice character changes her posture to show concern, patience, and interest in the question the male interviewer has for the "boy".
Man, I love Joel Haver and his video ideas- simple, relatable, and funny.
This one has to be on my top 3. There's such a comedic back and forth between Chester's calm, collected presence, and your relentless randomness.
4:50 turns out Joel's superpower is improvisation, but it requires him to not blink while doing it. With great power....
this actually seems like a really good improv excersize
the amount of detail that went into this
they're laughing and breaking character, almost like the interviewee is just doing improv, yet, the two interviewers are the same person shot on two takes, and the interviewee is responding to both of them while breaking character
this is messing with my head
Probably just a muted behind the scenes reading of the script
Breathing on the glasses and putting them on without wiping them tickled me way more than it should have.
The part where he said that as a child he lay awake at night punching himself in the face hit too close to home.
"Yes, yes."
Gets me every time.
This feels like the sort of conversation you would overhear between NPCs if someone made a video game out of an Adam Dougless novel
There's something in the way he stumbles and repeats that is just so distinctly Joel
Have I been applying for jobs wrong this whole time? Has everyone else been writing their kill counts on their resumes?
I thought that was supposed to go in your reference letter.
You'd need a psychic medium to check the references...or a Ouija board...necromancer...
References are bullshit anyway.
@@themarlboromandalorian I've never been a fan of necromancy-based verification, myself. I'm always afraid that the resurrected will lie to to the interviewers out of spite
@@IcyDragonPolaris yeah that shit happens a lot
nah bro, kill count on first page of your resume listed under experience
The wiping your eyes through the glasses did it for me
"Why is my character killing everybody?" Including me too, I laughed so hard I died at that part.
It went from juggling to mass murder. This guy is overqualified
He definitely didn’t tell him what the script was, I feel like his only instruction was to agree and work of joel. So cute
I think they were doing improv
@@wokesalmon6933 How can he do improv when two of the characters are him?
@@Bhazor Improv the whole thing, playing both those parts while dressed as only the one. Then change clothes and refill that character's responses, possibly improving some variations if you feel like it. Edit together and make sure you've removed all footage from the first one where you weren't dressed as that character (edit in the second cut). Release...
I love that you two cant keep it together and you just leave all of that in
I’m literally crying right now of laughter, i fucking love this skit
I only found your channel in 2020, but going back through the archive of both feature length and short films has been a joy that has really helped in this time of deep anxiety. Thank you for your artistry and ridiculous humor that manifests as equal parts stupid and genius at the same time. Your videos are a gift. Thank you to your talented cast mates as well. Many many thanks.
this is my comfort video
i love how joel has such a wide acting range, able to play three different characters on screen
Absolutely LOVED THIS
Who doesnt :)
I love that he just starts laughing more and more the more you talk about the children hes killed
The electrical tape moustache is killing me
“Why is my character killing everybody”
Recently discovered your work but this video... It reminded me of my father... Coming into a room right after my mom finished baking potato for him... And he would stand there saying: Woman... Woman - give me my potato!!!
Anyway what I wanted to say is that sometimes I come back to this video and always laugh like the first time. Thank you & keep up with the good work! :)
I think this is one of the best videos you've made honestly
This is sooo fucking funny dude, i cant breathe
I only watched this now, might be one of my favorite of your videos. I love the parts where you guys almost break out laughing at the end of a cut but end up serious again the next second. Great video!
I love how he asks the interviewer to tell HIM how many kids he killed
Also, I like to think he laughed in-universe during the interview while being told back how many people he killed
Watched it again, still great, you discover another detail to laugh about every time!
The bit where male joel talks about the different view to look at things regarding the 200/100000 deathrate of the children got me good this time around
the interviewee already smiling when guatemala is mentioned is so funny. Fond memories coming back up for him
I love that they break character and they keep it in.
This is bizarre, it feels like 3 people improvising, but actually theres only 2 people.
Like bro how did he do this???
I’m crying 😂😂 “how many kids did I kill?” As other Joel rubs his eyes THROUGH his glasses lol I can’t stop laughing. Idk how I just discovered this man’s channel after he stopped making the weekly shorts, but I feel like I’m discovering gem after gem. Each one I think “oof this might be my favorite.” Nope. They’re all my favorite. This one has me belly laughing more than any other though. This is beautiful.
Holy shit this is beautiful
I absolutely adore your channel
One of my favorite videos by you so far, charicters cracking up and losing composure always kills me
Wu feels the need to clarify, after his kill count is listed, that _one_ of them was on purpose, despite listing that he willfully started a fire that killed 200. This implies that Wu started the fire on purpose, in a crowd of 100,000 people, but didn't expect anyone to be harmed.
I love how the video titles always make you think its going to be relatable but what you get is this super absurd stuff and it 100x better
i come to this when i've had a shitty day never fails to make me laugh my favourite
0:47 wait what? Lol Jesus Christ these rambling moments are magnificent
