Thawale Lodge is a fully-catered lodge in Malawi's 70000 hectare Majete Wildlife Reserve. It's unfenced and overlooks a productive little waterhole that attracts loads of animals, especially during the dry season. Visitors stand a chance to see the Big Five here, along with African wild dogs and cheetahs.
In this video, I also share more information about Majete's other accommodation options, as well as activities like game drives, river walks and community tours.
    I hope you enjoy it!

What a change. I lived in Lilongwe from 2004 to 2010 and went to Majete around 2009. I went with a ranger trying to track a female rhino that chased us up a tree. There was very little in terms of infrastructures and wildlife. We even stayed in nearby Lengwe as it was the best option. This is a fantastic success story.

What a beautiful reserve and lodge! I love the simplicity and the un-commercialised feel! Definitely a place I would visit!
    Thank you for featuring 🐾

Great to see the surrounding community really benefiting from the park. Way it should be. Sadly in many instances its not the case. Certainly worth a visit.

Thanks mate for introducing many to one of the reserves in the African Parks Network.
Maybe consider adding African Parks Link to the description and adding a how to get here to these vids! Cheers 🙏😎

thanks. "How do I get there? By plane, or from South Africa, do you cross through Zimbabwe or Mozambique? And how many days does it take to reach this park from Johannesburg, for example? One more thing, I am a fan of your videos, but sometimes, in your videos, it would be interesting to have an idea about the price of the accommodations. Best regard. thierry de Ryckel

You’ll have to fly to Blantyre and then take a road transfer. You could also fly to Lilongwe and take a longer road transfer.
