Russ is FINE... I was fighting off the CASUALS who swore he was washed after his last season in Seattle. Yes he's corny as hell, but he can still play at a high level in spurts and STILL throws one of the Best deep balls in the Game. Pittsburgh looks dangerous with him under Center 🤔
Russ was a generational level player for a long time at Seattle. He was successful over and over. The fact that he never got one MVP vote was a crime. He was always underestimated and his numbers for those years were better and more consistent - top 3 for 10 yrs - no doubt about it. He thought he needed to reinvent himself at Denver to become a pocket passer and made a mistep. The coaches were horrible and the team was not that good in Yr 1 Denver. He was a little heavier by design and slower moving. The narrative came about that he was washed and it was a very dumb thought. You do not forget how to be a Hall of Fame QB in one year - especially when the physical ability has not really deteriorated much. Maybe slightly but not much. Yr 2 at Denver with SP was better but it was a terrible marriage. RW and SP could not be more different as human beings - oil and water. How SP wants a QB to play is much different than who RW is. Now at Pittsburgh there is a much better fit. 6 games is enough for me to see that RW is finding his groove and he is back. He actually never left. He has just found a good home with a supportive coach and a talented and balanced team that believes in him. He will play well for Pittsburgh for 3-4 more years before his career ends. They will compete for a SB. Pittsburgh fans get ready.

It's not a limited sample size. 6 games is a decent amount and in addition he put up top 10 numbers last year in Denver. The issue in Denver was their horrible defense. If he was bad last year then there might be a case for the small sample size argument. In addition 36 is not that old and he keeps himself in good shape. Flacon is 39 and actually has not played that bad this year. In starts he is passing for about 240 a game and has a higher comp % lower int % than last year. He has totally outplayed Richardson so far. Indy threw away their season by benching Flacco.
