    • @Liap
      @Liap  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, You can, but it is a head lettuce, so in order to create firm head You should let it grow and harvest when the head is formed.

    Nice video! Im a newbie and planning for next year. How much water do you give it and how often do you water the lettuce? Thanks!

    • @Liap
      @Liap  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello, when the plants are small they don't drink much, but when the heads start to form the soil needs to be constantly moist. It's hard to say how often as it depends on the growing conditions, so I suggest You check the top 1.5cm (1/2in) of the soil, if it's dry, it's time to water them.
      If You are going to use fertilizer of any kind, I suggest You stop using it once the heads start to grow, as excess nitrogen can cause them to rot.
      Thank You very much! I am very happy You like the video! ☺

    Can pruning the outer leaves be used for salad as the plant grows bigger? Then only take the inner leaves as needed for those nice crunchy sandwiches? Also, if pruned this way, could the plant keep growing if the inner iceberg is left to grow more leaves?

    • @Liap
      @Liap  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hello, You can treat iceberg lettuce as a "cut and come again" plant, but it will most likely never grow full head.
      I'd say it's better to plant them regulary by few with a week difference. So You always have some to harvest.

      What is the variety? I think it means 62 days after transplanting seedlings 🙂 not from seed to harvest. Is it the "Ice Queen Lettuce"?

      Well, I suggest you start seeds 3 months prior to the time you'll be starving for some sandwich 😜
      If you start growing vegetables when you are already starving, that might be too late 😉
